Level 1472 is the 1473rd level of the Backrooms.
Contents
Description
Level 1472 is a huge and invisible maze with a ceiling high up. The walls of the maze are completely invisible, so good luck navigating through the maze. Not only that, but also the maze is not your average maze. Some walls are rotated unlike others like Level 0. If one were to touch the walls, they would feel that the walls are made of glass. There is no floor, and everything one can see below is void. The ceiling is a pixelated cloud, except it drops Liquid Pain if contacted.
Occasionally, a white or black door may appear out of nowhere. If one enters the black door, it will just vanish. On the other hand, looking at a white door will lead to a dangerous sub-level of this level.
The Blue Platform
When someone enters this level, they will always spawn in the very center of the maze on a floating blue round platform. The blue platform is completely unbreakable. If they move, the platform will move with them. It will always stay perfectly under the person's shoes. It is impossible to fall off the platform, even with noclipping, since the platform will just end up below again anyway. Jump to go up, stand still to go down.
A special thing about the blue platform is that its size is based off the person's sanity. If the person is more insane, the platform will be wider. Total insanity will make the platform look like an elongated surfboard, but 100% sanity will cause it to disappear (since its width is 0), but will also make the platform not collideable, meaning if a person is completely sane, they will fall into the void below. Almond Water found in this level should be collected and kept but not be drunk too much.
The Ring
20 miles away from the spawn in every direction has another platform. The platform is a ring surrounding the center. When someone gets to the 1 mile wide ring, their blue platform will disappear and they will fall to the ring safely. If they walk off the ring, the blue platform will reappear and catch them.
The World Border
The 20-mile mark is nowhere near the end. One can still keep going before they reach the world border, where they cannot keep going anymore and will have to go 579 miles back to the ring. The border is also invisible but can be noclipped through.
Anything beyond the world border is just pure void. It is not recommended to go further, as some has found themselves in Level ! after travelling too far.
Wi-Fi Connection
Unlike most other levels, Level 1472 has extremely strong Wi-Fi, but is slightly weaker on the ring. The name of the Wi-Fi is "1472VoidMaze", and the password was cracked by a traveller named Jim, who typed "14721472" on his fifth attempt and succeeded. It can connect to any level in the Backrooms as well as the Frontrooms, but cannot connect to other realities.
The Raining Event
The Raining Event can start / stop every 3 hours. When the event is not happening, it has a 0.1% chance of occurring every 3 hours; when the event is on, it has a 25% chance of stopping every 3 hours. Your best choice is to focus on the sky every 3 hours to tell if the event is starting or stopping.
Like said before, the cloud drops Liquid Pain instead of raindrops. During this period, the sky will turn dark and start raining Liquid Pain, though strangely, it does not hurt if contacted this way. It is best to look down to prevent accidentally swallowing the red liquid.
Alongside raining and darkening, the level also permits other entities to enter this level, but they will have a red rectangular platform instead. Thankfully, they are slower than usual.
After this event, the permitted entities' red platforms will disappear, dropping them into the Void, unless they are on the ring previously.
The Shuffling Event
The Shuffling Event starts whenever it wants to start (around 0.00004% every second), but will not if the Raining Event is ongoing. It will last for only 2 minutes.
During the Shuffling Event, the walls of the level will start changing. A wall will move towards its destination. It isn't random at all, as people have discovered that it goes through a set sequence of 41 different patterns.
The ring will also start spinning. It will spin extremely quickly, about the speed of the rotation of the Earth from the Frontrooms. Once the event stops, it will abruptly stop.
If one gets compressed between two walls during this event, they will temporarily be able to walk through walls until the end of the event.
Other entities are also allowed to enter this level during this event, so get cover.
Do's
- Get to the ring as fast as possible
- Join a colony (if necessary)
- Find and keep Almond Water
- Focus on the color of the void and the width of the blue platform
Don'ts
- Drink too much Almond Water (as it will lead to the Void)
- Touch the cloud
- Look up during the Raining Event
- Look at a white door
Items
Every item is found only on the ring.
- Almond Water: Almond Water is found almost everywhere on the ring, except 99% of it is not safe to drink. The way to undo this downside is to boil it.
- Invisibility Eyeglasses: The eyeglasses have a white frame and yellow glass. It looks like normal eyeglasses, but when put on, it will outline every wall and platform in this level. It can also prevent accidental entries to Level 1472.1.
- Maps: There are also maps of this level. They are surprisingly well-drawn and accurate, but almost impossible to read. Those maps display the 41 different maze patterns, as well as three more patterns that do not exist.
Entities
There are two types of entities: Lighters and Hounds. Other entities (excluding Smilers) after entering this level will not get their platforms (unless during events). Strangely, Lighters do not blind if they are separated by an invisible wall, but it is still best not to look at them.
Colonies and Outposts
There are many colonies and outposts, all on the ring. The notable ones are listed below.
- 405 members
- Willing to trade
- Led by an explorer called Marc who survived Level Fun

- 134 members (6 of which are also members of Back Navigators)
- Willing to trade
- Provides phone charging stations
- Has a gaming laptop everyone can use for free for 40 minutes with a 5-hour cool-down (unless during events, in which case it's 10 minutes)
In-and-Outpost
- 150 members (10 of which are also members of Back Navigators)
- Willing to trade medical supplies
- Entity-proof base
- Travellers can enter their base if an event is ongoing

Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Find a blue elliptical platform in levels that start with 14 or ends with 72.
- Standing on a blue surfboard above water in said levels may also lead here.
- Falling from the ferris wheel in Level 699 will teleport you here on the ring.
Exits
- Ask the Back Navigators to send you to Level 1473, and you'll be sent to that level.
- Falling into the void by any means leads has a 99% chance of leading to the Void, a 0.97% chance of leading to Level 7, a 0.02% chance of leading to Level 4000, and a 0.01% chance of going back to spawn.
- Looking at a floating white door will lead to Level 1472.1. You don't need to enter it to enter the sub-level; seeing it is enough.
- Entering a brown door near the center will lead back to the level you came from on the same blue platform in the same position. After walking off, it will disappear. If you came from a surfboard, you may be sent to Level -33.1 or Level 7.

Jim: Currently in a weird void maze. Mission progress: 0%. Over.
???: Jim! You've been on the mission for a while now, and all you've made is 0%? You didn't even get their truth yet!
Jim: Yes... I'm sorry.
???: You need help?
Jim: No.
???: What do you mean you don't need help? You've made zero progress!
Jim: Then sure.
???: You know what, f*** it. We'll move our colony over to theirs. How did you get to this level?
Jim: I got on a blue platform in Level 141.
???: Blue- [sigh] SAY THE WORD BLUE AGAIN. Everyone knows that the Downrooms is downright impossible to escape.
Jim: Yep.
???: And the fact that it's impossible to enter the Backrooms 5 times.
Jim: Yeah, yeah. Wait, I see something.
[raining noises]
???: What's going on?
Jim: IT'S RAINING LIQUID PAIN! HELP! HELP ME!
???: AH! WE'RE GOING!
[40 seconds of raining noises]
Jim: THERE ARE SO MANY ENTITIES HERE! HOLY S***! I NEVER THOUGHT RAINING LIQUID PAIN WOULD DO THIS!
???: Remain calm, please. We're almost there. Just need to perform that thing to get to Level 141.
Jim: ONE OF THEM IS BEHIND ME!
???: Just, you can outrun it, right?
Jim: I CAN'T! IT'S THE SAME SPEED AS ME!
[an hour of breathing and running noises]
[breathing and running noises stop]
[~14 hours of raining noises]
[~2 hours of silence]
???: We're here!
???: Hello?
???: Helloooo??? Did he turn into a partygoer?
Jim: (partygoer voice) Yes.
???: (slams table) WHYYYYYYYYY
[ END LOG ]
Marc: This is Marc.
???: Mission Control. This is L(static) reporting to Marc. Over.
Marc: Copy that. What's up?
???: Sigh. It's a shame that Jim had just passed away.
Marc: WHAT! NO! NO! HOW DID HE-
???: He kinda did. He turned into a partygoer.
Marc: No! Well, Co-Leader, where you at?
???: Level 1472. The Wi-Fi said Level 1472.
Marc: I see. How did you get there?
???: Getting on a blue platform in Level 141.
???: Leader, should we move our colony over here? We'll keep an eye on the Blues.
Marc: I guess. This level isn't dangerous, right?
???: I don't know yet. But you should get here in no time. Jim apparently shouted that this level rains Liquid Pain, but there's nothing. Not even a drip. There are hounds, though. I would say that the Survival Difficulty is Class 4e.
Marc: Oh crap. I'm not dealing with hounds. No way in hell. I'm already in Level 141. Good thing I read everything about Level 141. I survived Level !; I can definitely survive a Class 4e.
???: Perfect. I'll wait now.
(~2 minutes of silence)
???: Hello?
Marc: I'm behind you.
???: Oh. That was quick.
