Level 1602 "Memory of the Backrooms"
Level 1602 is a level that appears to be rooms upon rooms of any level in the Backrooms, both documented and undocumented, even undiscovered. These rooms behave like how they would in the level they are found in. While the level is hard to traverse through, the good news is that entities are only found in Level 0, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 6 rooms, meaning that entities are pretty uncommon throughout the level and is rather save to explore overall. It is currently known that around every 1/8th of a second, it creates new rooms as a blueprint for new levels. Although the level seems it can have an endless number of rooms, there have been boundaries discovered.
Boundaries:
There are boundaries in this level, despite having all the knowledge of the Backrooms.
- Around 10 trillion miles away from the furthest current room from the level's core, there is a giant metal wall surrounding the entirety of Level 1602. This is thought to be the point at which the level can no longer handle the amount of memory needed to store all its rooms, thus either stopping the creation of new rooms (thus as a result no new levels), or deleting levels of the Backrooms as a way of making new space.
- Levels that do not feature rooms (like Level !, which is just a long hallway), will just send you to that specific level upon entering its room. This can possibly mean that these levels with no rooms either don't exist or exist separately from the Backrooms, though still featured in the Backrooms.
- Rooms can only be created on a flat surface, meaning that no levels can be on top of others.
- Copies of a room are possible, but automatically causes one of the rooms to disappear. This may cause an effect that makes levels look as if they have a different layout.
Experiments:
The only experiment done in this level was an attempt to destroy a level. They used machinery, explosives, and even a form of black hole. All forms of destruction have proved to be completely harmless towards the rooms, meaning that the rooms may be indestructible. However, there will be experiments with even more destructive weapons in the future.
Undiscovered rooms:
- Level 1UR_78 - A room that appears to have dark blue walls and a dark blue carpet, with water flooding the room down to about 2 feet deep. It has a smell that can be compared to fresh seawater.
- Level 1IX9_14.6 - A room that appears to have red walls and a concrete floor, resembling that of Level !. There are no smells.
- Level 00000000Aa - A room that seems completely dark, with a dark red floor and a smell of an unknown substance, though it was described as "being very unsettling."
- Level XE2-2a - A room that has no features to be seen, as it is comprised completely of light.
Colonies and outposts:
There are no known colonies or outposts on this level.
Entrances and exits:
Entrances:
- Find the core of the Backrooms and blink; you will end up in this level once you open your eyes.
Exits:
- Doors and other forms of exits can be found in many rooms, leading to any level that the real level may also lead to.
