Description[]

Level 191, also known as "A Blanket of Ash n' Snow", appears to be a large mountainous region covered in an odd mix of heavy snowfall and ash that comes from an unknown source. Upon its discovery, the level has two areas that wanderers will almost certainly come across. The level appears to be on a large 50-mile-by-50-mile-long square pillar of dirt, sedimentary rocks, and other types of rock you would find deep beneath the ground in The Frontrooms.

It is currently unknown how the level came to be this way, as it has an anomalous square pillar shape, which does not normally occur in The Frontrooms. It is unrecommended that you fall off the level, as those who do are presumed to go to the void, or a dangerous level, not ever being seen again. The amount of ash in the levels' blanket of snow will slowly decrease over time, allowing for wanderers to be outside of structures in the level for longer periods.

The following is a description of the different areas the level is composed of, all of which have slightly varying safety but are mostly consistent with the level's Class 4E classification. The main reason for the level's classification is that about every 20 to 50 minutes, the level's constant snowfall will begin to be much more mixed in with ash, which is toxic to inhale. It can take 20 to 30 minutes for the amount of ash to go back to normal levels. On top of this, it is rumored that entities reside within the forest, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Staying outside and in the snowstorm during this period can cause respiratory problems and eventually lead to death if in the storm for an extended period. The main way to avoid the effects of a snowstorm is to find unlocked buildings within the level or possibly make some form of shelter. One may also survive a snowstorm if they have any gas masks or respirators.

The Chalky Outskirts[]

The Chalky Outskirts appears to be a snow-covered forest filled with many different types of trees, some of which are Ginkgo trees, Pine trees, White Oak trees, Ash trees, and many more, including some anomalous types. When you first appear in the level, you will show up on a snow-covered path in the middle of The Chalky Outskirts. The path can deviate into other areas within the forests, with some leading to dead ends, small encampments, and, very rarely, small huts. Encampments may sometimes have useful supplies such as beverages or forms of food, but they may also provide safety from lighter snowstorms.

Huts will usually have 4 rooms in them and a basement, these rooms will usually be a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and an open living space. You can occasionally find supplies within these huts in the kitchen or basement, but there is a small chance that Facelings may be residing in the basement. When there aren't any Smilers in the basement, one may find sporting equipment or weapons stashed away in small sets of rooms.

Chalky Outskirts Entities[]

Facelings can be found within small huts in this area, as well as outside. Smilers can occasionally be found within basements. As mentioned, there was a rumor about groups of entities residing deep within the forest, but it is currently unconfirmed.

Chalky Outskirts Entity Behavior[]

Smilers can be found within this area, hiding within small huts that can be found at the ends of paths, supposedly waiting for curious wanderers to see what supplies may be residing in the basement so they can trap them inside. Facelings can vary in how hostile they are towards wanderers, as they are sometimes welcoming of wanderers, and other times they attack on site. Facelings can also sometimes be found wandering outside on the frosted paths, usually being neutral until threatened.

Chalky Outskirts Colonies and Outposts[]

Ash-Trotters[]
  • Hostile and cult-like group
  • Often fights with M.E.G. Outpost Hotel
  • Initiation must be done to enter the group

  • Found throughout the level
Snow-watch[]
  • Friendly group
  • Open to new members
  • Keep watch for incoming storms within the level to send out broadcasts to any devices that can pick up their signals
  • Has lots of supplies
  • Currently has 19 members

More outposts are likely to form over time.

The Pearl Mountains[]

Pearlymountains

The Pearl Mountains are the smallest of the two areas in the level, and it appears to resemble a steep mountain range in the corner of the level that has trees laid throughout the base of the mountains. This area of the level is presumed to be a subvariant of the Chalky Outskirts. This area of the level will mostly resemble the Chalky Outskirts, except there are much fewer trees and the paths on the side of the mountain are much smaller and more unstable. There are rumors of there possibly being underground bunkers or cabins on the peaks of the mountains, but it is currently unknown due to this area of the level having not been fully explored.

The paths within this area may sometimes be on the very edge of the mountain, making the path very narrow and unstable. Exercise caution when traveling on these paths, as beside the path will usually be a steep drop down the mountain or into a small chasm. It is recommended that you do not create any loud sounds, as loud sounds may trigger an avalanche, but due to the constant snowfall, avalanches may naturally occur. If an avalanche were to occur, look for a part of a path that may go slightly underground or under an overhang, protecting one from any snowfall, ashfall, or avalanche.

The amount of fog and snowfall in the Pearl Mountains will randomly fluctuate at different times. Due to this, exploring this area can be dangerous due to not being able to see in front of you when the fog is at its worst, although the amount of fog when it has decreased can allow you to ensure every step you take is safe, as you can see much farther ahead of you than you are normally able to.

Small caves have been discovered on the side of paths in this area. These caves will usually have icicles of varying sizes, which can cause death if they fall on any wanderer who may be under them. These caves appear to be safe areas where the fog or snow cannot reach you. It is recommended to hide within these caves and form a temporary shelter if needed. Sometimes one may find lost items and resources within these caves from wanderers who have come to these caves before, as some wanderers reported finding Almond Water, sticks, canned food, and many other items.

Pearl Mountains Entities[]

There are currently no entities within this area of the level.

Pearl Mountain Colonies and Outposts[]

Due to the harsh conditions of this area of the level, no colonies or outposts of any kind have been established.

Recovered page[]

The following was a page found in a journal within the boundless snow. The writer was found dead soon after the discovery of the journal.

Blanketofdesolatesnow

As the snow and or ash falls upon thy face, I slowly drift farther away from this endless dimension. My mind, plagued from the effects of this land, has ruined my perception of the things around me. I only see in shades grey, my mind would be collapsing in on thy self, but true grit and determination will lead me through. For those reading about my untimely passing as these pages deteriorate, due time I hope you find salvation

Good luck
