Description

Level 1955 is a building with an unknown number of floors that resemble an office building. The atmosphere of the building appears to be suspiciously silent in empty rooms and the lighting coming from the ceiling gives off the sensations strong sunlight filtered by tropical leaves. The temperature of the air is at a constant 35 degrees Celsius/95 degrees Fahrenheit. The atmosphere is misleading because this level is filled with various traps and highly dangerous entities such as hostile adult male Facelings that are camouflaged or wearing military outfits typical of the US army in the years 1955-1975. Any object on this level that appears to be left on the ground such as pencils, weapons, food, clothes and others is to be avoided at all costs since it is most likely a trap. Facelings encountered on this level are way more aggressive than usual and they will try to kill you using various firearms but they will die as easy as a human survivor. The most common rifle used by the entities is the M16 rifle. Fighting the entities is not recommended because of their high numbers and powerful weapons, but running and turning corners has proven to be very effective because the groups of entities tend to not leave their respective areas.

In proximity to most plants that can be found in this level such as small flower vases there have been reported auditory hallucinations that resemble words in Vietnamese. Additionally, all plants in level 1955 have the anomalous property of making any survivor or entity invisible around it despite their size and impossibility of normal camouflage. This property can be used to hide from any entity or other hostile survivors on this level.

Most bathroom stalls have been replaced with dark tunnels that are filled with entities that resemble snakes. These entities should be avoided because of their lethal bites that lower the victim's heart rate and paralyze them. A sighting of a Smiler has been reported in one of the tunnels but it has not been confirmed. In rare cases Almond Water was found in sinks located in the bathrooms. None of them were reported to be actual traps but the sinks produce loud noises that will attract the entities close to them.

Several rooms filled with napalm bombs have been discovered and some survivors hide there because of the reduced number of Facelings in these rooms. However these areas are often raided by hostile survivors that try to steal the explosives. It is recommended to only stay in these rooms for limited periods of time in order to hide from entities.

Colonies and Outposts

There are 3 known colonies in Level 1955:

The "Bush Lovers"

  • Usually friendly
  • The survivors from this colony have used plants in order to make their base look like an empty level
  • They stockpile food and are willing to share resources
  • Most of them have learnt to speak Vietnamese from the plants
  • 20 members

The "War fanatics"

  • Hostile to people who do not have war medals or weapons
  • They will only share their supplies if you help them kill Facelings
  • This group has a lot of weapons and grenades
  • The members of this group are very well-trained fighters
  • They exit the level sometimes to search for more weapons but they always come back despite the dangers of this level
  • 250 members

The "Peace Keepers"

  • They make peace symbols on the walls and they block with objects the doors leading to highly dangerous rooms that are known
  • This group helps any survivor that is not hostile and the group accepts new members
  • 50 members

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

Level 1955 can be accessed by finding and entering an apartment building with a "I want YOU to enter" graffiti on the front wall in Level 11 or by touching any glitched CD featuring music from 1955-1975, found randomly in Level 13, level 11, level 9 or level 5.

Exits

Level 1955 can be exited by No-Clipping if a survivor finds a broken elevator that has its floor missing. This method is not reliable because this elevator randomly changes location and there is a 50% chance that it is actually a trap that will break the legs of the person trying to enter. The other known method of exiting level 1955 is by killing 100 Facelings. This will trigger an event that will teleport a Faceling wearing an US Army General uniform. The entity will offer to shake the survivor's hand and will teleport them back to level 11 if they accept. After exiting level 1955 all survivors will keep will find a small medal in front of them on the floor that resembles a Vietnam Service Medal from the frontrooms.
