The first image from Taven S. in 2007, showcasing one of the alleyways leading to a white atmosphere
Level 201 is the 202nd level of The Backrooms. It is seen as a safe spot, but random entities still appear.

Appearance
It is quoted as a mixture of little to empty parking lots and alleyways. Almond water appears to go through the somewhat drainage system inside the level, although it's noted that it is not clean water. According to multiple photographs between 2007 and 2018, it is believed the entire level is consistent of alleyways that abruptly bring you to a white atmosphere, and little to empty parking lots, with a lot of reports in 2013 of Ford F-150's. A fake world atmosphere is presented on the edge of the level.
Photograph History
Unlike most levels in the Backrooms, this level appears to have had a long range of history with images being recovered. The first images inside Level 201 date back to sometime in 2007, photographed with a film camera by an individual who went by the name 'Taven S', who's whereabouts are currently unknown.
The second image from Taven S. in 2007, showing an empty area in the parking lot, with SOS graffiti and blood stains.
His recovered photographs so far consist of previously mentioned alleyways that bring you to white atmospheric area and an empty section of a parking lot with graffiti supposedly reading out, "HELP I'M FUCKED", with him censoring the last word using a piece of scrap he had found. The second image is remarked as one of the first experimental images inside the backrooms, tampering with the photo as a whole using a censor of his own. Blood also appears to be present on the wall with the graffiti, also unknown who the victim was in that situation.
Taven was reportedly present on Reddit in 2010, but had his account either terminated or forcefully deleted, with no more images recovered from him. His images were found in 2016 by an unnamed male, who had somehow bought them back to the hub for examination.
The second lot of photos inside the level were taken in 2015, by a now missing female. The photos were taken on an iPhone 5, with only two of them being recovered, which are both very similar to Taven's images back in 2007. The first photo is a blurred image of an alleyway leading to the white atmosphere, and it is unknown why the image was blurred. The second image appears to be another blurred image showing multiple vehicles parked in a parking lot. The photographer reported on her Notes app that the car license plates looked of Australian design. Her phone was recovered during a team investigation in 2017, hidden under a parked Mazda. Her whereabouts have not been recorded, but some claim she's been seen in the hub on multiple occasions using facial recognition.
The second image from the unidentified woman in 2015, showing multiple parked vehicles of Australian design.
The last photo inside the level was taken on July 23rd, 2018 with a Canon EOS 8D, but the photo has not been recovered.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the rare chance of entities spawning, there are two major outposts inside the parking lot, and four minor friend groups as of January 2021.
Alkana Outpost
- Founded sometime in August of 2014.
- Around 27 individuals investigating the level as a whole.
- Professionalize in finding lost equipment in levels.
Slankana Outpost
- Founded in October of 2019.
- 16 people involved in the outpost.
- Are not necessarily there for research, but rather trying to find exits.
Leaving Level 201
An extremely simple practice, by jumping out one of the alleyway doors into the white atmosphere, it transports you down to a Level between 178 and 301, with most people that have entered the level putting labels for which alleyway goes to which level. Rarely, it can also take you back to Level 0 or The Hub.
Entering Level 201
It's door can be found in Levels 11, 101, 301, and 401. When entered you go to the start of the level. If wanting to return to Level 201 after jumping out of the alleyway door into a random level, jump back up in the air with your arms out, it will reverse your movement to return you back to the alleyway.
