Level #208 is the 209ᴛʜ level of the Backrooms.
Level #208, aka Grandma's House, is a relatively-small level which was recently discovered in the Backrooms. It seems to only consist of small rooms and corridors that resemble circa 1980. Most of the time, it's complete darkness in this level, aside from small candles that appear in almost every room, which researchers assume were lit by Grandma, presumably to cover the pungent odor of mold and wetness all-throughout the level. Although, on random occasions, researchers discovered that a strong light source emerges through almost every window, door, or crack. Though we're unsure why this happens, it gives explorers and researchers alike the ability to see all throughout Level 208. Every step you make in the level must be light, as the floorboards are extremely creaky and loud! There is no outdoors to this space, as if you try to leave through any common exit-points, they will ALWAYS be locked, and Grandma will come stop you. She has senses like a bat, or a hound…
Internet is a viable resource in Level 208, which is joinable by the Wi-Fi name "Grandma's House". It's extremely fast internet with no password, we assume this was setup by Grandma, in which she doesn't know how to setup a proper password. Be weary when using the internet here, as Grandma can see who's connected.

Known Entities
As exploration of Level 208 hasn't been through, the total list of entities are unknown. The first, obvious entity are the Windows. These windows resemble the ones on Level 4, extremely timid and observant, you can even hear them crying or whimpering sometimes. Grandma can be seen cleaning these windows, in which they tend to ease and stop their moaning. We're unsure why the windows aren't afraid of Grandma, but are afraid of explorers. Another huge problem in Level 208 are the Hounds, they tend to attack on sight, and they like to team-up! At times, you can hear a violent struggle, this is the sound of the hounds getting into an altercation with each other. Use this valuable time to pass by the hostile creatures, or get a jump on them! Grandma has been known to tame these hounds, we're unsure how, but she uses them as her personal guard dogs. It's highly recommended to wear thick-soled shoes and to completely cover your skin before entering this level due to The Mold. Some have fallen victim to it in Level 208, but all known infected we're transferred out for quarantine. Stay weary, as there might be an unfortunate explorer infected. If you come into contract with The Mold, seek medical attention immediately, as you aren't viral, but need help ASAP! The primary entity of this level is Grandma. Steer clear of her and you should make it out alive. There's no exact description of Grandma, but she resembles a small, elderly-woman with a cane, but she doesn't need this cane for walking. Her cane is said to extend over 20 feet and able to pierce through Kevlar. Grandma hasn't been spotted on any other level, believing researchers to think this is her domain. Grandma's most common location is either the downstairs of Level 208 or in Grandma's Room.
After exploring the majority of Level 208, you will find it has many different, significant rooms to explore. Each room can be locked from inside, but be weary, every lock can be opened with any small, thin object. Researchers have yet to make it to the downstairs portion of Level 208 as it's guarded by multiple Hounds. There are a few rooms to note.
Child's Room
The Child's Room is the first room on your right as you pass the stairway. Inside you'll find a cartoon-inspired child's bedroom, full of toys, board games, and other knick-knacks. Grandma hasn't been spotted inside of this room, yet. If planning on visiting Level 208, it's highly recommended to explore this room, as in it's storage closet, it's filled with Almond Water, medical supplies, and a range of weapons that were left by previous explorers. The board games here can be played, but be cautious. Many explorer's bodies have been found in this room, sitting crisscross, in front of one of the many board games. Researchers are unsure if these deaths were caused by the games themselves, or something else. This room is NOT safe, so stay cautious. Even though Grandma has never been spotted in this room, Grandma knows the in's and out's of her home!
Terry's Room
Terry's Room is the next room if you continue down the hallway, it's located directly across from Grandma's Room. It gets it's name from a small note a researcher found.
"To whoever finds this: My name is Terry. I don't know how I got here. I keep hearing weird sounds and it's really dark. I'm scared. I keep feeling like I'm being watched. I think I'm going to lock myself in this room, hopefully whatever is out there doesn't find me. I'm sliding this under the door of the room I'm in, hopefully it's found. If anyone finds this, please help! - Terry"
Researchers are unsure who Terry is, the note was found on the nightstand inside of the room with no one inside. The Window inside this room seems to resemble the windows in Level 118, if the curtains in this room are moved, you will instantly disappear and the window will reveal a random, dangerous level (you SHOULD NOT go through these windows, as they're considered dangerous, and Grandma WILL hear you). It's presumed that the people who have moved the curtain in Terry's Room are dead, but others speculate you get teleported out of the Backrooms if you interact with these windows. Researchers believe that Grandma uses this room for storage, in the closet you can find: clothes, shoes, old blankets, sheet sets, and of course almond water. The lock for this room's door is broken, as there's a hole straight through where the locking mechanism would be. If you plan on exploring this room, stay alert. That door can open at any second.
Grandma's Room
Grandma's domain. The room resembles an elderly-woman's room from the 1980s, flowery bedsheets, fake vines along the headboard, etc. The room contains a bathroom, which hasn't been explored yet as researchers end up racing to the walk-in closet to escape. The walk-in closet contains more woman's clothing and a latter hatch, in which you can climb to exit the level with the following method below. While this room is the only exit-point for Level 208, it's also the most dangerous. If caught entering this room by Grandma or her hounds, you will be ripped to shreds almost instantaneously. Your best bet to explore this room is to wait until Grandma either goes to another room to clean the Windows, or heads downstairs. Remember, use light steps or Grandma will hear! Nothing notable has been found in Grandma's room, except the only known exit to this level.
Downstairs
This place is undiscovered so far, guarded by Hounds.
Colonies and Outposts
[Due to the nature of this level, colonies and outposts are unable to be established.]
Welcome, Gary!
M.E.G. has a small outpost in Level 208, known as M.E.G. Group Tempest, which is hidden from the public eye due to Grandma having reliable internet access. We want to keep our small group here safe and secure. As the level is inhabitable for extended periods of time, the outpost is only active when M.E.G. is conducting research. Outpost Tempest is located inside the closet of the Child's Room, once opening the doors you can move aside a large luggage bag to reveal a small door with a lock. You must have a M.E.G. Group Tempest Access Key to unlock this lock, unless you have a lockpick. Inside are numerous resources such as: weapons, almond water, medical-grade supplies, etc.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Walk though a door with a "Home" and a "Staff Only" sign in the Stores on Level 90.
- Find an X on the floor of Level 19, apply all your weight and you'll fall into Level 208.
Exits
- There's only one known exit, you must reach the attic hatch that's located inside of Grandma's Room in the walk-in closet. After climbing the attic hatch, you will be in Level 275.
