Level 2240: "Top of the Pyramid"
Description
Level 2240 is a mysterious Pyramid composed of giant blocks made out of an unknown rock. Every wanderer entering this level will find themselves alone on the very top of the pyramid. The Pyramid apparently extends to infinity looking downwards. Looking at the sky from the top of the Pyramid, it appears clear and devoid of clouds, and it seems like it's a never ending sunset, although no Sun is present in the sky. A myriad of stars sprawls in the sky, a most awing sight to any wanderer, but most interestingly are the flickering lights that seem to explode, move or vanish above the sky. Very different from asteroids or falling stars these lights seem to collide against each other and exploding, but following a specific pattern that repeats itself infinitely. It reminds of a space battle but its nature is unknown. The ambiance of the level is a constant frequency, descending the pyramid the frequency gets distorted.
The tip of the Pyramid seems to be the only completely safe position to stand in because as you start descending the pyramid it gets more and more dangerous. It's advised to remain on the tip and not attempt to climb down the structure, as it seems to be infinite. It also gets deadlier the more you go down. No material entities can be encountered in this level, except in extremely rare occasions as you descend the pyramid tall ghosts will appear. These ghosts are humanoid and wear long robes, they are twice as high as humans, they all ascend the pyramid. They cannot be interacted with in any way and will vanish from sight quickly after being spotted, sometimes these entities seem to fall into the structure almost like noclipping into it or glitching out. They all seem to be unaware but keep looking and heading towards the tip until they randomly vanish from sight.
The dangers of this level rise the more you descend the pyramid. Thick clouds appear in the sky, temperatures will drastically change descending the pyramid, extreme temperatures can last from minutes to hours, weather conditions become more dangerous. These include: rainstorms, snowstorms, windstorms and extreme heat, radiation levels also vary. Loud explosions can also be heard in the distance, they can be deafening. Blasts, atomic mushrooms (nuclear blasts) or even vertical laser beans can be seen and if not careful enough can be blinding. Wi-Fi interestingly works perfectly everywhere in this level but strangely, time seems to be stopped, so live reports and radio don't work. After descending approximately 12,000 steps the weather conditions drastically worsen too so it's imperative to wear protective heavy gear. The effects will calm down after approximately 1,000/1,500 steps.
After descending approximately 36,000 stone blocks (steps), after witnessing the event you will find yourself back at the tip of the Pyramid, completely safe from harm.
It also seems like staying at the tip of the Pyramid, the aging process halts and you will become immortal as long as you stay on top of it, making the tip a nice location to relax and meditate alone (as you can't bring anyone except yourself).
If the wanderer was with other human companions entering this level, each individual will be sent to a parallel exact copy of this level. When the wanderer manages to exit this level properly he'll find himself reunited with the other companions in level 2241 in the same exact moment despite spending more or less time in the level. If the other companions failed, died or exited the level differently they will not reunite unfortunately. Surprisingly all non-human companions has managed to spawn in level 2241 after entering this level.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the properties of this level, no colonies or outposts are set here.
Entities
Rare sights of tall humanoid ghosts climbing the pyramid that are impossible to interact with.
Events
After descending approximately 36,000 steps of the Pyramid a planet will appear above the structure. This planet will seem to grow in size the more the wanderer will descend the pyramid, it actually means the planet is falling. If the wanderer climbs back, the planet will gradually ascend. But if the wanderer keeps descending, it will come to a point where the planet will cover the sky completely, blocking all light. The wanderer, will suddenly find himself/herself back on top.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
There is currently only one known way to enter level 2240.
- Stop and meditate in level 432. By doing so the harmful effect of the hallway will halt for an unknown amount of time and the holes in the ceilings will become portals to this level. The Whiteout will become a sunset, people who have attempted this method felt drawn into leaping outside without explanation.
Exits
There are currently 2 known ways to exit level 2240.
- The easiest way is to jump at the top of the pyramid upwards, so there is no need to walk down the pyramid. By jumping gravity seem to reverse, you will fall upwards for a few seconds, time also speeds up and you will assist a night cycle. You will find yourself in level 2241
- Another way is to noclip in the pyramid's blocks. The level you will find yourself seems to depend on the weather conditions or cataclysmic event happening while using this method, the block's features or even the further you descend the pyramid. It's likely that noclipping during a rainstorm will bring you to level 7. Other levels you might be brought to are: level 12, level 50, level 52, level 72 or (as one report says) level 2160. Remember that noclipping has always a small chance of bringing you to The Void, be careful.
It is currently unknown if the pyramid has any openings or entrances
