Description
The first picture that was found of the Level 2372.
Level 2372 is quite a weird one. Unlike many levels found in the Backrooms, this level has never been confirmed. Only photographs found in odd and seemingly random places can verify it's presence. Due to it's unfamiliarity and undetermined properties, it is strictly forbidden to try and find this level. However, if it were to happen unintentionally, it's advised to leave the perimeter immediately and find other people. Note, that you must avoid the area at all costs without telling any living creature about it (not even an entity).
All photos were found in Level 1. The first one was found in a food supply crate. At first it was suspected to be another painting or picture that appears randomly within the level, but something was off. There was text on the back of the photograph saying:
This was the second picture found.
"The sky is beautiful today :) Wish you were here, █████ (the text is stroked out to the point where it was indecipherable)"
After this first discovery, several other photos were found in a 40 mile radius in a span of 3 weeks. More photos are being found currently, but not every single one is confirmed to be authentic. Who takes these pictures is still unidentified.
Alex
This picture was found in the bag that they abandoned. Witnesses say, that the person in the picture resembles Alex a lot, but according to them, Alex has short, black hair and has a lot more defined facial features.
There is a rumor that some video footage surfaced. It was found by someone going by the name of Alex. It is not yet confirmed if the rumors are true or not. And if they are, the footage will be inspected by professionals.
Currently, Alex's where-abouts are unknown. Last time Alex was seen, was with a group of travelers. They found them in Level 9. They were sick, dehydrated and hungry. Alex stated, that they were running from a hound and got lost. The group offered them help and food. Alex joined them without hesitation, saying that they won't be able to stay here any longer. They stayed with them for 3 days and explored Level 11. Afterwards, the group made their way back to Level 1. That's when Alex said "I have to find this one place, but I have to do it alone. Thank you for everything." and left with only a small, pink, plastic bag in their hand. When asked, witnesses said that Alex never mentioned what was in it. It is speculated that the bag has something important in it, considering Alex would always keep it by their side no matter what, always checking up on it. It is speculated, that the bag contains the footage.
No other sightings of Alex occurred. Some speculate that Alex introduces themselves with a different name every time, because there were no people that claimed to be or goes by the name Alex.
The tape

After a few weeks of searching, the footage was found by an explorer named Harve Penn in Level 11. Penn was exploring the area, searching for Alex. He claimed to be a friend of theirs. The footage was found in horrible condition, recorded on a VHS tape. The case looked like it was dropped or dragged across the floor. He, luckily, knew how to extract the footage.
The Footage
The video shows what seems to be a brightly colored video of a walk in the city. Nothing can be heard, other than the maddening and ear-deafening sound. Listening to it for longer than 30 seconds can create interesting side-effects:
- After 30 seconds, the subjects ears start to ring;
- After 1 minutes of listening, a splitting headache may start;
- 2 minutes in, listener will start to violently throw up;
- Hitting the 5 minute mark, the person would likely pass out and the experiment would end;
- After 10 minutes of continued exposure, the subject experiences severe hallucinations. Afterwards, psychosis and paranoia occurs and the person becomes uncontrollable and displays homicidal tendencies.
After the subject displays homicidal intent, they must be neutralized. In the event of failed neutralization, the subject will go on a murderous spree. It can and will kill everything that stands in its way. This effect is called the “fever dream effect”, due to the footage and the audio being highly disturbing and the nightmarish effects from prolonged exposure.
