The first known picture of Level 251, photographer unknown

Description

Level 251 appears to be a suburban neighbourhood (known as "The Safe Zone"), with houses, roads and telephone wires stretching for an approximate 10,000 miles, although people speculate it to be as short as 500 miles. The houses are all the same, a red-brick roof and white concrete walls. Entering the house through any means is impossible, clipping through them brings you to Level 290, breaking the walls brings you to Level -1. Objects start to deteriorate as you walk away from the "The Safe Zone", but following directional signs can bring you to different levels.

There are a lack of entities in the "The Safe Zone", as there is only one case of a person seeing a hound, but there is no concrete evidence. Tools like flashlights and guns can be found in trash cans, and bottles of almond water can be found on houses' doormats.

"The Safe Zone"

The safe zone is at the beginning of this level, it is around 1000 miles large. The safe zone is considered to end at the 1000 mile mark when entities start to appear, but most consider the safe zone to end at the 2000 mile mark since that is when you have a much higher chance of encountering an entity.

Deterioration

The further you get away from the neighbourhood, the worse the deterioration gets. Here are the documented distances so far. It is unknown what happens after the 7000 mile mark.

250 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Objects smaller than 2mm now start to pixelate. Using a magnifying glass fixes the deterioration.

500 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Secondary colours such as orange, purple, and green start to turn into red, blue, and yellow. Differentiating colours is now harder, and maybe even impossible. u/BurntAcorn has presumably made a special pair of glasses that fixes the deterioration.

1000 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

LED lights now stop working. These include computers, mobile devices, etc. The chances of encountering entities is now 6%.

2000 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Radio waves and infrared stop functioning. This affects radar, TV, FM and AM radio and many more. The chances of encountering entities is now 20%.

4000 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Objects smaller than 10cm are now pixelated. It is impossible to fix the deterioration. The chances of encountering entities is now 40%.

6000 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Objects smaller than 1 meter are now pixelated. These include living organisms. Reports say that when a person pixelate, his/her vision also pixelates along. The chances of encountering entities is now 54.8%.

6500 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Objects smaller than 100 meters are now pixelated. It is now very hard to see and explore. It is not advised to go past this zone. The chances of encountering entities is now 60%.

7000 miles away from "The Safe Zone"

Any visible light stops functioning, it is impossible to see. The chances of encountering entities is now around 78.24%.

Colonies and Outposts

Federal States of Level 251

This group consists of the majority of the people staying at Level 251 (around 23 people). They stay in "The Safe Zone", but sometimes venture out for exploration. They are friendly and open to trade. You can join them by finding an item that depends on what they are lacking.

Outsiders

This group consists of around 10 people, and they are mostly scientists doing experiments on the deteriorated. They stay at the 500-1000 mile mark away from "The Safe Zone". They are not open for trade, but they are very friendly.

Entities

Entities start to appear at the 1000-mile mark away from "The Safe Zone". The only entities documented are Hounds, Facelings, Smilers and more. They can sometimes wander into "The Safe Zone", though this is unconfirmed
