Person 1: Hello? Anyone there? This doesn't look like our home...
Person 2: Oh, there you are. We were waiting for you. We just wanted to do a little surprise party, so we redecorated the home, giving it a fresh, futuristic look! Hope you like it!
Person 1: Huh. House looks... mildly different from the last time I saw it. Seems like the walls moved.
Person 2: That's because they did! You've got a keen eye, mister! We called our construction crew to renovate. Like what you see?
Person 1: I don't understand. How did you do this? I was only away from work for two hours.
Person 2: Two? No, this project took months.
Person 1: But how did you...
Person 2: You were gone for a whole year, [REDACTED].
Person 1: I wasn't. I just left this same house hours ago. What are you talking abo-
Person 2: Time is power, [REDACTED]. This project didn't take long.
Person 1: I'm skeptical.
Person 2: You should be. They'll arrive in approximately 30 minutes. Hold tight until then.
Person 1: Who's "they"?
Person 2: You'll know in 30 minutes.

You'll understand. Just be patient.Situation 25 is the 26th oddity of the Backrooms.
Our systems detect a disturbance in the space-time continuum. They'll come to fix it. You don't need to worry.
Description
Situation 25 is a restricted area. Only authorized individuals are allowed to enter. Access by external groups is to be banned. Spacesuits are required for entry.
You are not home, but they will ensure that you feel like you're home.
Give it a few moments. They'll help you renovate.
The M.E.G. is conferring with them, establishing a peace treaty. They once attacked any humans that roamed across their lands, but thanks to the M.E.G.'s efforts, perhaps we can call this place our habitable home. Futuristic technology, genome editing, artificial gardens—this area has room for a potential colony where wanderers can thrive in the Backrooms.
The entire area is locked in the midpoint between day and night. Is dusk coming, or is dawn coming? The Sun glows a bright orange, illuminating the sky. They've harnessed the solar power of the blaze, providing enough energy to sustain life for the next century.
Roses, daisies, and pine trees thrive in the artificial garden, where LED lights replace the Sun, which is too far away for the plants to perform photosynthesis with. The overgrowth of the canopy has created a miniature forest, with its grassy path, tall redwoods, and even a small stream with clean drinking water. We're not entirely sure how the forest works; despite it being an enclosed area, fauna have appeared. They can be seen eating the berries or rustling in the leaves. Scientists have taken these creatures in for research on Level 11, but they do not resemble any identified species.
Nothing leaves this place. Everything must stay in Situation 25 so as to keep the area top-secret until it is ready. They will make sure all confidential files and objects remain inside. Guards at the door will check belongings and do a thorough search to ensure nothing leaks.
Access will open to the public later on. For now, discussions must happen behind closed doors.
They promise it will be ready soon.
Escape Plan
The Sun's power is, unfortunately, unstable. Should the society ever stop functioning, they will direct all of you to the exits. There are several doors near Lab 01 that will take you back to Situation 24. Keep the spacesuits on—it's required to breathe there.
However, those in more... desperate situations can take their emergency exit close to our dining hall. Take a sharp left, and there will be a fake wall. Knock on said wall, and the wall will pull away to reveal a thriving forest with blue skies and plentiful vegetation. No one to our knowledge has ever taken that exit; if they have, they've never returned.

Person 1: I don't understand. What are you hiding from me?
Person 2: Hiding? No, I'm hiding nothing.
Person 1: Alright, how do I leave this place?
Person 2: Well, you just exit out... that door right there. (points to Lab 01)
Person 1: You know what? This place gives me the chills. I'm leaving pronto. I'm not sure whether this is some futuristic spaceship or what, but this is NOT my home.
Person 2: It's not supposed to be. They wi-
Person 1: Oh, would you just shut up about "them"? It's "they" this, "them" that. Tell me who "they" are.
Person 2: This is for your safety, [REDACTED]. I hold confidential information from my superiors that I am not allowed to share.
Person 1: Be honest with me.
Person 2: No. Are you going to leave or what?
Person 1: I was going to, but now I just might not!
Person 2: You should. They'll arrive in approximately 10 minutes. Once they do, you'll never see the light of day again. You hear me?
Person 1: Who's "they"?
Person 2: I'm done answering your questions... (speaking to the radio) Boss, this is Hestia. I repeat, this is Hestia. There's a rogue wanderer inside our base. Dark hair, fair skin, wearing an orange spacesuit—I have him under my control here. Please send reinforcements.
Person 1: You're not going to...
Person 2: Sorry, [REDACTED]. Orders are orders from the M.E.G. I promise that the trees you make will be just as pretty as you.
Person 1: Well, I'm flattered by your compliment, but what trees?
Person 2: Guess you really are out of the loop. This is a colony of gardeners. We recycle corpses and use their biomass as fertilizer for our plants.
Person 1: Why are you telling me this now? You-you said this was confidential information!
Person 2: Because you won't live to tell anyone else. Don't worry. I'll etch out your name on the tree your nutrients help grow. It'll be a great preservation of your legacy.
Guards: (entering) Where's the trespasser?
Person 2: Have him right here. Take him away. Reconvene in the dining hall at 6:00 PM. We need to figure out how he managed to enter.
