Level 271, also known as "Technopolis", resembles an infinite tech store where many branded products, both from the Backrooms and the Frontrooms can be found for sale. The brand "Technopolis", can be seen throughout the level in similar ways to how it is seen in regular tech stores in the Frontrooms, therefore the name of the level. Computer, and other products can be found for sale from times ranging from the 1980s to the present day, and from the lowest quality, rating, resolution, price and reputation, to the highest, which can also vary. Computer products, among others, can be found for sale laptops, desktops, gaming laptops and desktops, mobile phones, tablets, terminals, televisions, CDs, USBs, product keys and serial numbers of many operating systems and software (both from the Backrooms and the Frontrooms), microwaves, traditional telephones, desktop monitors, many video games recognizable from the Frontrooms, batteries, chargers, computer keyboards, headphones, hard drives, PC components, CRT screens, among others, and most any product that can be found in many tech stores in the Frontrooms.
The sounds produced by electronic and computer devices can make you lose your sanity a bit, but not enough to cause any side effects, so you don't have to worry too much about it. Although these products have prices, you don't have to pay for them, and you can take them for free, or try them out and use them in the store itself. The level has an anomalous effect that causes new and recent products, and the latest technology and manufacture of the Frontrooms to randomly appear for sale. Operating systems, both known in the Frontrooms and belonging to the Backrooms can be commonly, and randomly, found in the products. Occasionally, there are areas where products can be found categorized by time, for example products from the years 1997-1999 in one area, or from the years 2007-2008 in another area. This level has a Wi-Fi connection up to two times stronger than in Level 3, and the best thing is that this Wi-Fi does not require a password.
Occasionally, almond water and food can be commonly found in vending machines scattered around the level, and do not require any coins or tickets to obtain. Occasionally elevators can be found that can lead to other floors on this level, but rarely can they lead to Level 3, Level 11, or Level 22. Functional escalators can also be found that lead to floors above or below the level, or that lead to Level 22. The floors on this level are similar to each other, with minimal differences. Office doors, leading to Level 4, can also be found. Because this level has better internet than in Level 3, significant amounts of resources and supplies similar to Level 4, and Frontrooms operating systems, it is considered one of the only levels of the Backrooms where the Frontrooms can be easily communicated with, and with similar survival difficulty to Level 4.
The Reception
The reception can be found either near the entrance/exit of the level, or randomly within the level. This area of the level may contain one, or several docile Facelings under "The 11 Effect" in charge of the store, with clothes and outfits belonging to the store, and with the "Technopolis" branding on them. This area can be used to order products, or take them in for repair and maintenance if they present problems.
Entities
The most common entities that can be found throughout the level are docile adult and child Facelings under "The 11 Effect", which can be either store employees (adults only), or shoppers (children and adults). It is not recommended to try to harm them, attack them, kill them, steal from them, beat them, take things from them and take things from them without permission, as they may become hostile and you may be teleported to a cell in Level 107. Other entities are unlikely to appear, although Smilers, Hounds, Deathmoths, Skin-Stealers, and Clumps can sometimes be spotted in darker areas of the level.
Colonies and Outposts
M.E.G. Computer Sellers Outpost
100 members, 25 of which help Backrooms Robotics, located 30 kilometres from an entrance/exit from Level 11 in an area with computers from the years 2016-2018, and near another area with computers from recent times, and was created to obtain resources and supplies from the level, both computer, technological and for survival. They will always help, assist and accept new Wanderers, and are always willing to trade. They can teach Wanderers about computers and computing, and how to use devices well, and will offer devices from the store to Wanderers, either to take with them or to use for a while.
Backroom Colonists Outpost
Backroom Colonists also use this level to obtain resources and supplies from the level, both computer, technological and survival. They are located between an area with modern TVs, and an area with older ones. They are very friendly and will always help, assist and accept new Wanderers, and of course are always willing to trade. They help both M.E.G. and Backrooms Robotics on this level.
Transport and Selling of Backrooms Robotics Products
Backrooms Robotics use this level to sell their products and inventions. They can be found in some areas bringing their products to sell in this level. Backrooms Robotics has 25 members of the M.E.G. Computer Sellers Outpost which help them with their jobs. Their secrets should be regarded with respect, as they have been known to become violent at this level when their transports of their products to the store are interrupted, or smashed. They pose no threat to you as long as you are respectful and can consider them useful to others.
