Level 274 is the 275th level of the Backrooms.
Description
274 at high noon.
Level 274, more commonly known as "The Rockies", resembles an expanse of mountainous terrain that contains plants and materials that can be commonly found in the Canadian Rockies of The Frontrooms. This expanse is filled with randomly generating mountains and valleys that contain forests and some small structures.
The Rockies are always found in a state of late-winter. Snow is present on the ground, but not on most trees. The temperature fluctuates between -8 and 2 degrees Celsius during the day and -8 to -12 at night.
There are a few roads at the bottom of some valleys that are completely devoid of cars. Following them may lead somewhere but no traveler has gone far enough to tell if they are endless or not.
Cabins
Cabins are structures that can be found randomly in the level. They are made of wooden logs which species depends on the type of forest that they are found in. Cabins contain important supplies for survival. The supplies that can be found include but are not limited to; almond water, flashlights, headlamps, knives, matches, and canned food. Cabins are unable to be entered by most hostile entities, making them virtually impenetrable safe rooms. Each cabin has a firepit inside of it that will always be lit and cannot be put out. The light from the firepit is visible from a small distance outside of the cabin.
Special Properties
The Rockies have a full day/night cycle that happens naturally on a semi-regular basis. A full day lasts about 24 to 25 hours, with daytime only producing 300 lumens of light and night being pitch black. This light creates an effect of it always being dusk, which makes reading or making out detailed shapes difficult at nearly all times of day.
A light source would be needed for doing even menial tasks like reading or recognizing faces at short distance. At night, a light source is vital, as the sky produces no light and it lasts from very early in the evening to late in the morning. During the night, many hostile entities will actively hunt down travelers unless they are protected with special items that can be found in the level.
Melting snow will result in almond water, which can be consumed.

The light from the fire pit is visible from a small distance outside of the cabin.
All supplies taken from cabins will naturally reappear every night at midnight. Although supplies will not appear if their original locations are watched through the night.
Entities
Entities are somewhat uncommon within The Rockies, many of which are very hostile. During day a traveler may come across small grouse or rabbits which can be killed for food. At night many dangerous entities will be encountered, including packs of Hounds and occasional Smiliers. It is vital that all travelers inside of Level 274 find a cabin before nightfall.
Faceless entities, named “lumberjacks”, can be found inside some cabins. They are fit men who wear plaid shirts, jeans, and leather boots. Lumberjacks are friendly to travelers and offer warm meals and supplies to anyone who enters their cabin. At night they actively defend their cabin from hounds, which seem to be naturally scared of lumberjacks.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the hostile nature of night, the only real safe place that exists in The Rockies are the cabins. Some travelers have decided to stay in the cabins that they find while wandering. Although many of these travelers have gone insane due to the isolation and have become insanities of an icy-white color.
