Description

Confirmed picture of Level 288, showing both the water and the junk.

Level 288 appears to be an absolutely infinite body of water, with a lot of junk, showing no soil. It is salt water, therefore you can stay afloat in the water.

Level 288 houses junk of all sorts, seaweed, plastic bottles, trash can lids, even tires from cars. How the junk got to this water is unknown. Level 288 also has no known sea bottom, therefore it is assumed that it is both infinite in length and depth. Reports of The Thing On Level 7 have been reported but isn't confirmed. Water pressure works here just like in real life, therefore, if you really do wanna go deep for whatever reason, it is advised to not go very deep, as it is extremely dangerous. Typical fish have also been spotted on this level, swimming in packs or alone, they are a source of food and they aren't dangerous, however if you see a complete red fish, it is best to avoid it because it can be lethal with its bite. Sharks are also present on this level, though in deeper regions of the water.

The temperature in this level can get extremely cold, however this is very rarely, and usually says at around 20°C. However, if this does happen, it drops down to 0°C, so it very advised to have proper gear, or be on a raft during this event. The reason for the extreme temperature drop is unknown, and usually happens every 1-2 months.

Almond Water, Liquid Pain, and other liquids present in the Backrooms or sometimes even from The Frontrooms, are very rarely present in the plastic bottles.

Sometimes, you may come across rafts or just planks, these are usually colonies that fell apart due to unknown reason, but it is widely suspected that it is because of a shark attack. Finding these is great, you can typically take a nap on them and spend less energy swimming.

Level 288 should be entered by people with the knowledge to swim and proper gear, however some of this isn't necessary.

Entities

Not much entities are present on this level.

The Thing On Level 7 (unconfirmed, this may be false)

Fish

Sharks

Red Fish - Completely red, and are very lethal with their bite, and inject poison.

Very rarely, Facelings can be seen staying afloat or on a raft. This is VERY rare, however.

Colonies and Outposts

Surprisingly, some people have found this place to be a nice rest, due to a somewhat consistent supply of liquids, food and shelter.

The Rafters

  • Group of 50 people
  • Stay afloat on a raft, with a roof above their head.
