> Description
Level 293 takes the form of an extensive set of rooms that resemble an abandoned house. The entirety of the level is in an advanced state of decay, and many rooms are littered with debris. In addition, some rooms may have random pieces of furniture arranged haphazardly, or in ways that are seemingly impossible (i.e. stacked on top of each other in a strange way).
The architecture present within this level is remarkably confusing. Doors often lead to nowhere, and staircases will likely lead straight into a wall. Despite none of the lights working on this level, everything is bathed in a mysterious red glow. However, this red glow only extends for a few feet in each direction, leaving the rest of the level enveloped in darkness.
The level's defining feature is the presence of eyes on the walls. These eyes are fairly abundant, with most walls having only one eye on them. These eyes appear to have fused with the wall somehow, and do not possess any structures that a human eye would, such as a choroid or a retina. However, the eyes seem to be able to detect when a wanderer is nearby, and will follow their every move. Being around these eyes instills a sense of pure dread in the wanderer, and may result in insanity if a wanderer is exposed to several eyes at once. Due to the eyes' effects on wanderers, it is assumed that all who come here are affected with ommetaphobia (the fear of eyes).
The Blood Pits
There are more grotesque areas of Level 293 that can be found which have been dubbed "Blood Pits" - however it is inadvisable to enter one. This is because the eyes are far more common here (about 10x more common), and due to the presence of large pitfalls. Usually, these pitfalls are around 10m (32.8ft) deep, however some have been observed to go a lot deeper, up to around 150m (492.2ft).
A Blood Pit follows the same architecture as the main area of Level 293 but with one noticeable difference; there are large masses of flesh that can appear occasionally. From these mounds of flesh come writhing tentacles, as well as several human body parts (most notably eyes and mouths). These flesh masses are not considered an entity but they are a threat to wanderers, as they will use their tentacles to drag wanderers into them, when the wanderer will promptly be absorbed.
Falling down a pitfall here will often lead directly into a giant mass of flesh, or into a cluster of eyes. However, on rare occasions, it will lead to the level's basement.
The Watching Basement
If one goes too deep into the level, or falls down a pit, they may find themselves in The Watching Basement. Here, it is far darker, and the sensation that something else, aside from the eyes, is nearby is amplified. The eyes are even more common than before to the point where most walls are completely covered in eyes.
Skeletons litter the floor, making the area hard to traverse. Additionally, The Watching Basement is a lot more claustrophobic than the other 2 areas, with most hallways requiring a wanderer to crouch to traverse. Due to the skeletons on the floor and the claustrophobic nature of the area, it is nigh-inescapable. The only way back to the main area is a stairwell, which is incredibly rare to come across.
> Level-Exclusive Events- Level 293
This level has a few exclusive events, 3 to be specific. These events are usually quite rare however, resulting in them not impacting wanderers as much.
Event Information[]
- Average duration: 35 minutes
- Average time between instances of event: 6-8 days
- Event Threat Index: 3/5
Description[]
The Crumbling is an event in which the entire level starts to shake for about 3 minutes. Afterwards, random portions of the floor and ceiling will start to drop, revealing nothingness. Falling into the pitch-black space will most likely result in a wanderer being transported to Level 6, or any other dark level. However, there is an astronomically small chance of being sent to The Void instead.
If this event occurs, the best strategy is just to run away from any collapsing areas of the level. If one finds themselves trapped, there is nothing they can do other than hope they get sent to a safe level.
Event Information[]
- Average duration: 1 hour
- Average time between instances of event: 3-4 weeks
- Event Threat Index: 0/5
Description[]
The Mirror Image is an event where mirrors will start appearing randomly throughout the whole level. If one is to look in a mirror, they will be transported to an alternate version of Level 293. Almost every property about the main level is inverted in The Mirror Image. For example, the entire level has a cyan theme to it, and it is safe to explore.
If this event occurs, go into the alternate version of the level, as it is far safer than the main level. When you leave the alternate version of the level, you will be where you last were in said alternate version.
Event Information[]
- Average duration: 3 days
- Average time between instances of event: 8-10 months
- Event Threat Index: 5/5
Description[]
Come Outside is an event in which every door on the level immediately swings open, revealing the exterior of the level. From the outside, the level appears to be a normal abandoned house, albeit in pure red. Surrounding the house is an expansive forest. However, where trees usually would be are large fleshy tentacles. Once a wanderer is grabbed by a tentacle, they are pulled under, and the ground closes up. What happens to them is unknown.
If this event occurs, one will feel a strong urge to go outside and into the forest of tentacles. However, do not follow that urge, as it will only lead to one's own demise.> Entities
In terms of entities, Level 293 has none that have been confirmed. Some may consider the eyes or the flesh masses an entity, however they are strangely not considered entities.

> Colonies and Outposts
Due to the level's extreme environmental dangers, no colonies or outposts have ever been set up. In addition to this, no two wanderers can ever meet on this level, unless they both use the same entrance at roughly the same time.
> Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Jumping into a pool of red water in Level 998.
- Finding a room full of red eyes in Level 1, and no-clipping through the floor in said room.
- There is a very rare chance that the train on Level 154 will stop here.
- No-clipping through a broken step on The Dawn Staircase sub-layer on Level 264 leads one here.
- If one fails to escape Level 555.5 before their sanity is drained, they will be sent here.
Exits
- To exit the level, one must first walk at least 200 miles away from the entrance. Afterwards, they can find a ladder leading up to the level's attic. Inside said attic, there will be a glowing box. Opening the box will lead to a random level of Class 2 or below.
- Alternatively, one can find a key randomly, which can be used to unlock a trapdoor in The Mirror Image. This trapdoor leads to Level 3.
- One may also exit this level by entering through any door in The Watching Basement, sending them to Level 245.
