Level 2 is the third level of the Backrooms. It can be accessed by remaining on Level 1 for too long or by going through doors on Level -1, or from The Hub.

Description

Level 2 is millions of miles of industrial hallway, gray floors and concrete walls adorned with locked doors with pitch-black windows, ventilation ducts with odd noises coming from them, and pipes that contain viscous black fluid. Most of the time the noises in the vents are caused by crawlers, one of the Entities you can find on level 2. Other entities here include smilers, child facelings, clumps, hounds, small deathmoths, and bursters. If you encounter any creature in the halls your only choice is to run in the opposite direction and hope that you can outrun it. The hum buzz of electric lighting is much stronger than levels 0 or 1. Level 2 can get extremely hot, so taking water with you is advised. Level 2 can induce extreme claustrophobia due to the tightness of the halls and can cause insanity after long periods of time. There are useful supplies on this level, so if you're prepared to fight, staying here for a bit is beneficial.

Colonies and Outposts

No known colonies or outposts can be found on this level.

Leaving Level 2

There are 4 ways of leaving Level 2.

  1. If you imagine Level 1 of the Backrooms as your home, there is a chance that an opening to Level 1 might form.
  2. It is possible to find entrances that lead to, and staircases that descend to, Level 4.
  3. If you manage to locate an entrance to The Hub, you can you it to access Level 0 or Level 1.
  4. Sometimes walls that lead to Negative Levels can be found in Level 2, these are incredibly rare, and even when spawn in, they're hard to locate due to the poor lighting in the level.
