Description

The first image of Level 301

Level 301 is a hilly area consisting of seemingly infinite grey-green Grassland with Burning Dead Forests covering the hillside. The Grassland is smeared in dust and ashes, revealing the tawny cracked earth beneath. The inferno sweeps through the Burning Dead Forests and Grasslands like a demon trying to turn this place into the furnace of hell. Huge plumes of smoke containing carbon monoxide emanate from the Burning Dead Forests, streaked the gloomy sky with dark traces. Beware not only of the hellish poisonous gas and fire here, but also the threat of numerous entities lurking in the smoke and scorched woods.

It is argued that Level 301 may have a certain degree of distortion of the space and electromagnetic interference, leading to the malfunction of communication and navigation devices such as mobile phones and compasses in the level.

There is a small chance of getting teleported to other random locations in this level when travelling through the Burning Dead Forests, or just keep circling back to your original path.

Information

  • Generally, wanderers are strongly advised to avoid this level for the extreme conditions and the threat of numerous entities' presence. But if you insist on entering, do bring a gas mask and fire proximity suit to protect you from the smoke and heat of the flames. A substantial amount of water supply is also advised to avoid dehydration due to sweating in the heat. Always be cautious of the hazard of the deadwood collapsing, as the trees never seem to stop burning. Also, most of the hostile entities in this level will be found in the burning woods and inside the smoke, as the flames and smoke here do not seem to have much adverse effect on them, so unless you are prepared to engage in fights with loads of entities, stay in the Grassland and do not enter the Burning Dead Forest.
  • There may be supplies, including but not limited to food and Almond Water, left behind by unknown individuals in the Burning Dead Forest. On rare occasions, a concrete construction of various possible shapes can be found in the middle of the forest. There is a great chance of finding firearms, ammunition, worn clothing, gas masks and medical supplies such as bandages inside, though there is also a very small chance of encountering Lighters and Dead Hands in the tunnels within.
  • A cluster of makeshift cabins can often be spotted on the Grassland. They are built of brown tiles plastered with white paint, which can be scraped off with tools. These cabins appear to be in the early 20th-century style, and sometimes the remains of collapsed ones can be found. Although there are rumours that some wanderers have found supplies like bandages in these cabins, they have proved to be mostly devoid of supplies and objects. In addition, there is a small chance of finding entities in the cabins, so entering is not recommended even for those attempting to scavenge for supplies.

    The stream of Level 301

  • A narrow stream of almond water sometimes appears flowing at the border of the Grassland and the Burning Dead Forest. However, it is important to note that this stream has already been contaminated by the ashes and poisonous gas, thus should not be drunk even when thirsty, as it may lead to dizziness, diarrhoea and then more serious symptoms of dehydration.
