Description
A view of Level 319's lower levels from higher above.
Level 319 mainly consists of an exclusively long staircase. There is nothing very special about this level; the only things to note are the bland color palette and the metal railings. There are currently three known sections of level 319, exploration of further levels has been deemed impossible.
Section 1 "wonderland"
Around 4000 steps down the air becomes remarkably more humid, and is described as having a "sweet smell". Occasionally travelers can spot entities out of the corner of their vision, although when they turn to view them, they appear to vanish from sight. At this section in level 319 you will only directly encounter hounds, when encountered they will be docile and can be interacted with in most languages, they will often inquire about the weather or other mundane topics. Some travelers theorize that the source of the sweet smell in the air is a mutation/hallucination inducing spore.
Section 2 "Dreamland"
At the 8000 step mark the moisture in the air will dissipate although the sweet smell will remain. Every few floors HiveShrooms can be spotted on the ground, they are observed to be bioluminescent and possess a blue color. When one comes into the vicinity of this floor the sweet smell becomes noticeably stronger and has been observed to induce feelings of euphoria. Often travelers will experience hallucinations of family members, increasing with proximity to the nearby mushrooms. This levels appears to have a positive impact on one's sanity.
Section 3 "The Breeding Grounds"
At 12000 steps the size of each landing becomes noticeably larger, nearly 10 times the size of before. HiveShrooms become abundant and some grow to the size of cars. Travelers report that as they reach this point the smell becomes sickly sweet laced with the smell of death. At this level hallucinations are constant, the HiveSpores that fill the air drain the traveler of all there energy until they are nearly exhausted, at such point the Hivelings will approach them and offer them shelter and resources, travelers that agree with them are not seen until weeks later, they will be the same excluding HiveShrooms growing from them in various places, and a seemingly increased vitality. Travelers who decline the help often end up dying of starvation or lack of energy.
