Level 332 is the 333rd level of the Backrooms.

NOTICE:

This level is responsible for a well-known phenomenon in the Backrooms: a brass number "6" has been documented to appear on certain levels' doors, with any and all affected doors leading to Level 332. This occurrence is presumed to be completely random, and its cause is currently unknown. Under protocols, one should exercise caution while entering questionable doors, particularly those that are outstanding from others, and access is only limited to exploration and further documentation; if one inadvertently enters them, they may exit to a more risky level and lose interaction with their group.

Level 332, commonly referred to as "Brass Number '6'", is an expansive corridor with a slightly varying appearance for each visitor. It comprises only one path whose extensive length cannot be determined, and rumors suggest it to be boundless in extent. Level 332's entrances all appear as wooden doors in general view and emerge in manifested levels. The door knob has a lock that can be pressed but is non-functional. Notably, another side of the wooden door features a brass number "6". The number "6" appears to be the same type used on hotel doors. The significance of said number is currently unknown and cannot be detached from the gate. The door automatically closes and locks itself when no pressure is applied, trapping anyone inside.

Upon entering Level 332, one finds themselves at the corridor's edge; the walls are white/tan drywall, and the floor is a beige carpet similar to that on Level 0. The corridor includes curves and turns that result in large semi-circular pathways or, in rare instances, an almost perfect circle. Nevertheless, there is no concrete evidence of the corridor loop-circle itself since these cases merely redirect to a dead-end passage. A corridor will veer off into a new direction after a certain distance; these varying radius circular hallways create an unstable layout of a wavy and snake-like pattern. The corridor's orientation frequently changes and is unexpected, potentially leading to an opposite direction to the previous.

The nature of Level 332's layout is a single-way system without any intersections, excluding the inconsistently wavy pattern. Therefore, navigation is feasible without a clear sense of direction. However, one should pay attention to preserving their route; otherwise, they might end up back on the pathway they came from. All the doorways on both sides of the wall, which appear identical to the Brass Number "6" entrance, are locked and inaccessible. Doors in each hallway range from 3 to 7 feet apart, resembling the aspect of a wooden door with a missing number sign. Knocking on these locked doors yields a full and resonant sound, suggesting the existence of a blank space beyond. The precise nature of what lies beyond these doors is unknown; a widespread belief among wanderers' circles describes them as exits to other levels of The Backrooms that require an enigmatic method to unlock. Attempting to breach the locked door by destroying the wooden textile in any forceful manner is not the way that advocates believe it might be.

Each door has a 0.1-inch gap underneath. These are miniature for an individual's eye to perceive the other side clearly, and cameras designed to be thin and flexible — like snake cameras or flexible inspection cameras — cannot fit through the opening. However, they are large enough to allow a piece of paper to pass. A frigid breeze from these gaps blowing across the hallway decreases the atmosphere's temperature. These oddly are described as an unidentified kind of wind source installed on the other side of the doorway. Upon closer inspection, a beige carpet stretched into complete darkness beyond the opening. The opening seems to nullify all light as any shone light is rendered useless. As further exploration of this void may not be conducted, it is safe to presume that the space is indefinite. Many rumored these spaces to be The Void, but this remains unconfirmed.

Traveling without supplies may be potentially hazardous due to a lack of supplies and the fact that the level does not allow for random interactions among other travelers. Information gathering and interviews show that people are typically trapped in the level for longer than a day, sometimes nearly a week. Without essential supplies, such as food and water, travelers may find themselves vulnerable to environmental risks and unable to sustain themselves during their journey. Furthermore, sleeping in Level 332 is difficult due to the corridor's bright ceiling lights, which eventually impairs cognitive function, mood, and physical health.

Colonies and Outposts[]

Due to the nature of Level 332, creating a colony or outpost is not feasible.

Number 6, a symbol steeped in connotations of weakness and sin, stands as a threshold to the disturbing labyrinth of never-ending repetition, pulling cruel tricks on the unfortunate. What begins as an ordinary entrance through a typical door gradually devolves into monotonous madness. Those who fall will unknowingly find themselves in this perpetual loop, leading to an action they later regret. Devoid of sustenance, bereft of solace, they are left to wander amidst the relentless glow of the beige-carpeted corridor and the solitary dry walls.

The curve transition blocks out any glimpse of the path beyond; no matter how far away, the scenery remains unchanged. It always abruptly veered in the opposite direction — seemingly returning to the same spot. After countless miles of traveling with my mind adrift in an ocean of matter, attempting to open every door, I realized they all served as false hope. Walking around this circle can be described as time being frozen in a loop. Minutes became hours, and hours became days, and time became meaningless. Desperate to escape the endless cycle, my thoughts felt overwhelmed.

Exhaustion weighs heavy on my shoulders. I sighed and slid to my knees against the wall, desperate for a break. I closed my eyes in a futile attempt to find solace in sleep, only to be uncomfortable by the relentless glare of artificial light and the biting chill of the draft seeping through the doors' gap. Sleep eludes me, a distant memory lost amidst the torment of the looping corridor.

It feels like just a moment ago, in the blink of an eye. I walk through a typical-looking door in The Hotel that looks exactly like the rest. This place perfectly reflects the hotel's aesthetics flawlessly, from the walls to the flooring and ceiling. I knew it; it was a trap, and it really is; it's the most welcoming and well-lit place I've seen so far, there's something unnerving about it. It is almost too inviting. Now that I'm standing here in the oppressive glare of a bright-lit corridor, the number "6" becomes a mark of terror.

"During my time at M.E.G. headquarters on Level 4, Karl Pinkerton and I were newly assigned members. On that day, we had to retrieve documents from storage. That's when my partner, Karl Pinkerton, opened the wrong and unfamiliar door – it appeared exactly like the other doors. We discovered a curving corridor. The walls, floor, and ceiling bore unfamiliar marks, the atmosphere was cold, and the ambiance was markedly different. We were both confused and amazed by the surroundings. At first, we thought this might be a recently renovated section of the office.

Karl took a few steps into the hallway, but then the door slammed behind us, leaving Karl and myself stranded. Panic set in as I heard Karl struggling to escape. Despite my efforts to destroy the door and Karl's desperate attempts to break free, the door received no damage at all. "Call someone for help!" he said. I never expected those to be the final words that I would ever hear from him. I ran to the cafeteria, shouting for help. When I and the other staff returned, the door was nowhere to be found.

Karl is missing. M.E.G. believed me and didn't blame me for what had happened. They told me that this was not the first time this had occurred in this level; however, it was the first time something like this had ever happened within headquarters. Unfortunately, the M.E.G. can't search for Karl's missing case due to a lack of information on his location, and I do not blame them. I understand that Level 332's nature leads people to a more isolated and dangerous level where it is unlikely that they will ever return. All I can do is hope for his well-being. After that accident, I never saw an entry to Level 332 again.

I recently learned more details about the missing case. One of the travelers addressing the outpost confirmed seeing him. The person claimed to have walked past him at Level 666 after he saw his memorial at headquarters. However, it was two years ago. Still, I wish he was alive somewhere else."

Entrances and Exits[]

Entrances[]

Any door in the Backrooms with a brass number "6" affixed will lead to Level 332. This number randomly appears on doors in certain levels, to later disappear. As a case in point, once Level 332 is entered, the door immediately locks upon closing. It also occurs even if there is no one inside the level.

Reportedly, there are some entrances that remain constant. These include:

  • On Level 4, Level 19, and Level 21, going through a door with a brass number "6" will lead to enter Level 332.
  • More constant entrances are yet to be discovered.

Exits[]

  • There is only one known way to exit this level. One must locate the exit by twisting each door knob in the corridor. One will eventually find the unlock one, which opens to a certain level out of a known set. The door is currently known to open to Level 4, Level 333, and Level 666. If the door is closed and re-opened, it will lock automatically, similar to the entrance. Did you know that this door can also send you to Level 47?
