Level 339 is the 340th level of the Backrooms. It was first discovered by u/snesaddict.

Description

Level 339 resembles an infinite loop of hallways, offices, and staircases in a doctor’s office. The entire place is made to reignite the fear of being at a doctor’s office as a child. The walls are made of beige-ish drywall, the floors are made of square marble tiles, and the ceiling consists of panels and fluorescent lights. The hallways consist of hundreds of doors each with bronze plaques about 2 inches left of the doorframe, with illegible text. almost all of the doors will be locked, however, some will be unlocked and will either lead you to a hallway of more unlocked and locked doors, or a hallway of open-door offices, some of which may contain keys to unlock certain doors and lots of almond water. The slight sound of distant footsteps can be heard, but it becomes more obvious the longer you stay there. The main enemy in this level is your own mind. You will slowly go insane and be scared like a child. Your best decision is to leave at the first chance you get.

Blackout Event

The lights will go off after 3 hours and will stay this way for about 30 minutes in intervals. This is known as the "Blackout Event", and it is advised to bring a flashlight since the entities here prefer to travel in the dark.

Time in this stage works normLally, however as you stay here your brain will think you've been in here for shorter than you really have been. The best way to fix this to drink almond water.

Colonies and Outposts

Due to the nature of this level, colonies and outposts are unable to be established.

Entities

Entities that may or may not be present include Smilers, Hounds, and Skin-Stealers. Entities will only move when in the dark and will freeze in the light of a flashlight, which is why it’s recommended to bring one. Another entity is a doctor who walks around the office with a scalpel in his hand. He has an all blacked out face, and will only move in the dark, and in the light will be frozen in his position. He will attack you the moment he sees you. There are surgeons, nurses and other doctors who are armed with sharp melee weapons who will call out your name mimicking your family doctors and people you met in the real world. If they see you they will rip out all your organs, drain all your blood, breaking all of your bones, torturing you with mentally insane ways and then dump your body in the mortuary room.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • Find a key to a storage room in Level 14 and go up the stairs that appear behind it. Those stairs will slowly change as you climb them to become the carpeted ones from the doctor’s office. At the top, you will find a door and from there you will enter Level 339. All attempts of going back to Level 14 will not work, as if you go back 1 story, you will meet a floor that was not there previously.
  • Noclipping through the hospital bed in Level 23. You will appear inside the hallway of locked doors, right next to a doorframe where the stairs from Level 14 are visible. The floor is still there.
  • Finding a staircase on Level 338 will lead here.

Exits

  • Jump through a window in one of the offices to end up inside Level 188.
