Description

The first known photo of level 356, the photographer is presumed dead.

Level 356 is a 210-mile-long road that runs through a relatively rural and remote area. It is always nighttime in this level, with no stars or moon being visible in the pitch-black sky. The road can often randomly merge into a 2-lane road, and it curves very often and unexpectedly. The dark grey asphalt road is surrounded on either side by lush meadows, clumps of bushes and shrubs, forests, and large fields of green grass. Occasionally, warm yellow light is visible in the distance, indicating the existence of houses. It is unknown if these homes are inhabited, though. Every wanderer who spawns in here finds themselves in the passenger seat of a sleek, black, luxurious electric car that drives at approximately 40 miles per hour down the dark road. Quiet, smooth jazz music is playing in the background and the temperature is set at a comfortable 65 degrees Fahrenheit. There are also bottles of almond water in cupholders and a difficult crossword puzzle for you to solve inside the vehicle. The car seems to be driving itself and the glossy black wheel spins and jerks in an uncanny, unrepetitive way. Staring too intently onto the shaking wheel or just the unoccupied driver seat can sometimes induce paranoia, an intense feeling of dread and fear, or just general unease.

The car is the only safe place in this level, as the entire outside of this level is littered with hostile entities. So, it is strongly advised to remain inside the car, with the windows and doors closed and locked. Entities on the road will often get run over by the car, but they are strangely unable to inflict any damage upon collision. Many people report hearing a scratching or tapping sound coming from the back of the car. It is rumored that there is an entity trapped in the trunk, endlessly waiting for someone to let it free. If you attempt to sit in the driver seat and take over the vehicle, a bizarre invisible force will repel you backward and prevent you from taking control.

Another photo of level 78 from the perspective of the electric car.

After a few hours of driving, the car will reach the end of the 210-mile-long road. The car will approach a shiny metal gate with a sign next to it stating “Welcome Home” in bold, blocky letters. The gate will then automatically open, and your ride will come to a stop in a dark gravel courtyard. The doors will open by themselves, and a strange invisible force will shove you onto the gravel courtyard. After that, the sleek electric car will slowly fade away into nothingness. Once the car abandons you, countless hostile entities will start to attack you. Most wanderers die at this point from the relentless hoard of entities, but some manage to escape the courtyard and flee into a nearby forest. When this happens, you will either glitch through the ground and be sent to a random level, or encounter a mysterious, terrifying entity commonly known as The Yellow One. This entity is shrouded in mystery, and little is known about it. If you encounter this entity lurking in the forest near the courtyard, you will be teleported back to level 1, back into safety. However, its physical characteristics are SO horrendous that it will make you go completely insane. Victim’s language abilities will also totally shut down after the experience, causing them to babble in absolute, indecipherable gibberish. Disturbingly, the only few words the victims can clearly say are “The Yellow One will break from its cage, it is barely contained.”

Entities

  • Level 356 is absolutely infested with countless hordes of hostile entities. These entities reside on every part of the level, except for the electric car you originally spawn in.
  • Skin stealers, hounds, facelings, smilers, and wretches are extremely hostile and very common on this level.
  • Sometimes, strangely, only smilers can be found on this level. This effect can last several minutes to several hours at a time before the other entities suddenly materialize into existence again.
  • This level seems to give entities a significantly heightened intelligence. Entities on this level that are usually relatively unintelligent elsewhere can craft weapons, easily communicate with other entities, and establish basic social systems. It is even speculated that some of the entities have built basic infrastructure like wood and stone huts deep in the forest.

Colonies and Outposts

  • Due to the dangerous nature of this level, no known settlements exist on level 356.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances:

  • By drinking the carpet fluid in level 0, there is a low chance of passing out and waking up in level 356.
  • By having an intense dream about driving during the night, there is a chance of waking up in level 356
  • By no-clipping through any car on any level might send you to this level
  • Tripping on a root and glitching through the ground in level 66 may teleport you to this level

Exits:

  • You will be sent to level 10 if you manage to solve the crossword puzzle found in the car. Unfortunately, however, the crossword is incredibly difficult and only 3.2% of people can solve it in time.
  • There is an estimated 58% chance of glitching through the ground in the forest next to the gravel courtyard. This exit will send you to a random level. Most wanderers, however, will get killed by entities before they even come close to escaping to the forest.
  • By encountering "The Yellow One" that resides in the forest next to the courtyard, you will be teleported to level 1.
  • Near the beginning of the level, there is a small dirt road that branches off the main one the car is driving on. If you jump out of the moving car and go down the road, you will soon reach a shed with a large metal door. This door will send you to level 575. Unfortunately, the countless barrage of hostile entities will probably kill you before you reach the shed.
