The photograph of Level 363 taken from a distance

Level 363, also known as "The Town of Elmore", is the 364th level of the Backrooms. Level 363 appears to be a near-perfect replica of Elmore, California, United States, a fictional town featured as the primary setting of a popular animated cartoon series from Cartoon Network, The Amazing World of Gumball. Though Level 363 generally functions like a normal city that one could easily expect, Level 363 is unique in that everything in the city has the potential to come to life at any random time. Lamp poles, sidewalks, houses, grass, and many other things will grow eyes and become animate.

Description

The aerial view of Level 363's neighborhoods

Level 363 appears to be a moderately-sized town populated with residential areas consisting of neighborhoods filled with suburban houses, apartments, office buildings, hotels, hospitals, police departments, fire departments, motels, schools, train stations, and other additions found in the average American city. Level 363 also features several factories, some fast-food restaurants, large parks, shopping malls, and other department stores, gas stations, soccer stadiums, metro stations, and other landmarks. There are multiple nuclear power plants throughout Level 363, which seemed to be operational, giving most of the town a source of electricity. These power plants emit a slight green smog that has been proven for the making of new beings. To access Level 363's school building, Elmore Junior High, one must bypass an incomplete expressway to get through into the building.

Similar to other minor metropolitans in the United States, Level 363 has its financial district, park districts, residential districts, and an interstate highway running through it. Strangely enough, Level 363 operates in a fashion that one would expect from an autonomous nation. The level has its currency, the Elmore Dollar, its airline, various large attractions and amenities which would be expected from a larger city, and an exceedingly large and glamorous bank bearing the town's name. The Elmore Dollar is a small purple note, with highlights of bioluminescent ink splattered on it like stars. It is 2 times as large as normal American dollars, yet is smaller in width and length. Geographically wise, the region throughout Level 363 is surrounded by huge bodies of water, which requires a very large bridge to cross, and is completely near-identical to Vallejo, California, while the Elmore Junior High and certain buildings are primarily based around San Francisco in terms of structure and placement.

The population of Level 363 is said to be at least 20,000. With the residents being the mysterious type of Entities that were capable of fully replicating the entire appearance, voice, memories, feelings, and personalities of the original inhabitants of Elmore from the show it is mostly based on. The population size indicates that Level 363 is an equivalent of a somewhat large town or small city in the United States. This is rather unusual, considering the fact about the presence of high-rise skyscraper office towers found throughout Level 363, which are usually only placed within major cities.

Level 363 has an anomalous property of causing any surrounding objects within the location to come animate and acquire a significantly average human-level intelligence due to their anthropomorphism. (Anthropomorphism means to give objects human-like properties.) Most of the entities residing in Level 363 vary in physical appearance and species; some are two-dimensional, some are CGI, some are stop motion-style, some are paper cutouts, and there's even a couple of people that are in some way live-action (one entity is a chin face, for example), etc. The buildings throughout the city are commonly shown to be realistic live-action photographs of buildings with some alterations added in CGI, while vehicles and objects may have the same effect, being CGI or two-dimensional.

Colonies and Outposts

Elmore Peacekeepers

  • An organization supposedly composed of the surviving military forces and first-responder units in the United States of America, including the National Guard, firefighters, police officers, SWAT team members, civil volunteers, and members of other civil services, who are trapped inside the Backrooms through accidental No-Clipping and band together to form a peacekeeping faction within the Elmore community.
  • Although most of the personnel are overworked and possess meager resources, they work together to enforce the sense of law and order within Level 363 while cooperating alongside the anthropomorphic Entities willingly.
  • They are responsible for guarding and maintaining several important locations throughout Elmore.
  • Their headquarters is located in the city hall, where they serve as the Mayor's bodyguards and agents.
  • Consistently neutral. However, most of its personnel are generally friendly unless getting provoked by some Wanderer, which they do not tolerate.
  • Willing to trade any weapons, items, and equipment to anyone exploring Level 363, including Almond Water.

The Church of The Void

  • A mysterious, fanatical cult-like organization known for worshipping an alternate dimension located within the outskirts of the Backrooms known as The Void, where characters and objects from the world, particularly from Level 363, are erased from the world where it was created, be it coming from the Backrooms, the Earth, or the multiverse, due to being "mistakes" and thus becoming completely forgotten.
  • Their overarching common goal seems to primarily be spreading the corrupting and destructive influence of The Void through causing death, despair, and destruction wherever they go. They are generally considered to be the Elmore Peacekeepers' worst enemies.
  • The organization itself is led by an entity and an inhabitant of Level 363 known as Rob, one of Elmore's biggest and the deadliest threat.
  • Extremely hostile, dangerous, and indiscriminately aggressive to everybody. Will not tolerate anybody infiltrating their base of operations.
  • Their headquarters is located in ██ ████████████ █████ ███████ ██ ███████.
  • Known for brainwashing any nearby inhabitants they come across using the power of The Void's corruption, causing them to fully become mind-controlled, zombie-like slaves that work for the organization.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • Sometimes, while wandering around Level 0 to 10, you'll discover a television screen on the wall, which is filled with static. Touching the screen will automatically take you to Level 363.
  • During your journey throughout Level 153, find and uncover a cardboard box with the words "Elmore" on it. Opening the box will suck you up inside and teleports you immediately to Level 363.
  • When stumbling upon something unusual in any city-related level in the backrooms, you will have the urge to touch it, no matter what, upon touching it, you will be transported to this level inside the town's office lobby called "Chanax Corp".
  • If you lose a soccer or American football match on Level 927, you get teleported to this Level 363 immediately.

Exits

  • It is possible for one to accidentally discover and force the fold wide open to form a portal within the background of the level. This portal will suck up anything that is near it, and it works both ways, but it will begin to shrink over time and eventually close back up. When you decided to enter the portal, it will teleport you to a random level immediately.
  • Entering the town mall and going into the basement by going down a specified set of stairs, and then going up will take you right to Level 33. This method is not so dangerous but be very aware, as this basement is infested with smilers at night.
  • Breaking a pipe in the parking lot will take you to either Level 2 or Level 7. (50-50 chance)
  • Navigating deep into The Void will take you to Level 404.
  • Breaking the 4th wall will send you to either Level 107, or the real world, making you appearing on any random TV of your house.
  • Screaming in spanish for no reason will take you to either Level 1045 or Level 107.
  • Walking into the Forest will take you to Level 364
  • Entering an abandoned mall will take you to Level 446.
  • finding an McDonalds and exiting thru the back door of the employees area will take you to Level 1980, also works with eating 10 burgers without organ failure.

Upcoming Events

THE VOID COMSUPTION

Warning, this event is very dangerous, as this event will not only suck in and consume Level 363 itself, but also The Real World and The Backrooms, too This event will consume the level first, as considering it anything but A̴̢̰͓̠͓͖̙͇̥͕̱̗̟̰̐̈́̏̽̑̋͠ ̷̮̮̲̮͈͇̲̰͉͖͋M̷̧̢̛͙̮̳̩̥̳̳̻͓̺̟͕͛͛͌͋͛͠͝͝͠͝I̷̛̗̳̞̯͓̖̖̝̗̱̝̤̾́͂͒͂̐̅̆͘͘͝͠Ṡ̷̢̱̮͎̱́̈́̔̐̽̔̍̄̍T̷̮̙͓͒̑̾̅̊͂̽͌̋̍͐̉̚A̶͕̥̥̤̽̄̍͛͌Ķ̷̖̼̥͙̩̱̤̮͚̽́̆̒Ẹ̴̡̡̯̭̯̝̰̙̬̥̼̘̤̳̓̐͌͘͝. is completely erroneous.

What it affects:

The Backrooms: Levels begin a process called Abrasion. Levels will be cracking and breaking apart. City levels will stay united but with a few buildings scattered around. Any infinite levels will immediately dematerialize

Sublayers also will be affected by Abrasion, including Level 6.1

The Real World: planet earth will be broken apart, including all solid planets, gas giants are not affected, but they will lose their moons. Galaxies and other ultra-large planetary neighborhoods will break apart.

The Abrasion will end everything and everyone within the universe, including space and time themselves, will dissipate, including entities, this event is unreversible. The reason why we know about this is because of the murals found on many levels. Ancient murals have been found on nearly every level. The puzzle had to be placed together in a certain way and had to be changed slightly, as it had mistakes in it. The result described an XK Class Scenario, where A̶̡̧̢͉̩͓̰̼̹̟̮̺̱̼͖͍͙̩̖̻͉̍̽̎̾͗̀̾̌͊̅͂͌͋̍͒̉͘͠B̴̧̰͓̙̤͈̱̱͖͚͓̬̮͎̻̠̪̻̏̾̅S̸̥̺̦̩̜͙̰̣͖̬̙̹̼̐͒̑̀̈́̆̎̏͘̚Ơ̸̦̒̐̂̋̄̀͆̄̐͊͛̌̈̌̓́̕L̸̢̛̠̟̘͈̭̈̑͗̓̇̍͐̏̅̂̃͘̕͘͜U̴͈̖̓̄͆̊̉͒͂͘T̷̛͖͉̺̪͇͎̭͕͇͕̞̏̿͗͌̋͌̔̈̅̾̽̚̕E̵̢̨͔̻̞̥̘̲̬̲͈̼̰͔͓̺̳̳̫͕̐́̎̈́̿̽̄͐̈̒̀͑̅̈́͑̋͊͗͘͜Ĺ̷͕̘̞̟̞͔̰̬̜̝̱̲̥̞̜̰̫̪̓͆͌̋͆̋̂͑̆͐͑̔̊́̓̊̉̍͘͜Y̷͓̤̯̩͚͇̾̿͑̈̄̒̐̎̇͆͋́͘͝͠͝ͅ ̸̡̧͖̟̘̭̙̙̰̱͓̼̲͑͑́̄̄̏̂̄͗̑̇̾̚̕Ē̷̡̛͖̺͚̩̥̐́̈̈́̎͂͘͝ͅV̸̡̡̧̢̩̬̙̣͇̙͔͎͕̦̬̳̝̯͉͙͉̀̍̊͊͐̐̀̉̈́̓̋̈̈̚͝E̸̡̮͍͔̰͓̭͍̫͈͂͋͊̉̓̂͒̀̌͆͆̾̏͘̚̕ͅR̴̨̨͎̜̥̦͈̱͍͓͇̝̟̼̠̘̖̳͓͓̟͊Y̷̛̛̲̝̦͖͚̹͇̞͕̰̦͍̖̊̇̊̆̐͑̓͘͘͘͜ͅͅT̵̨͕̖͎̻̬̱͉̈́̉͂̋̃͌̽̂̽͊͒̓̂͘͜͜ͅH̴̡̘͓̟͇̦͓̩͓̼̥͆́̓͆ͅI̸̡̛̱̳̦̪̤̱͚̺͚̦̟̹͑̿͌͗̑̇͋͆͛͋́́̉̊̚̚͠͝ͅN̵̯̪͔̞͇̿̇͊̓̀͊͘G̵̨̞̜͚̦̜̜̃̉͒͂̒ is gone.
