Level 376, otherwise known as "The Dark Forest," is the 377th level of the Backrooms.
Description
Level 376 is a vast forest populated by evergreens. According to Wanderers who have traveled to this level, the forest remains in perpetual darkness. Few Wanderers have traveled to this level, and most of what is known about this level is unconfirmed.
Wanderer Reports
First know picture of Level 376
Wanderers have reported that when they enter a level, at their feet is a small compass and a note reading, "Walk the way of the arrow, and you will find whatever your heart desires." Wanderers have theorized that this means that one should travel in the direction of north, which most have, but a few outliers have headed south, west, and east for exploration purposes. We have interviewed some travelers to this place, you may view them down here:
Interviews: (Note: Interviewed Wanderers will be referred to as W-1, W-2, and W-3 for privacy reasons.)
INTERVIEW 1: START Interviewer: W-1, please describe from the start what it was like upon entering the level? W-1: I think I fell onto facedown onto a patch of grass, really wet grass, I remember. I got up and saw I was in a forest, but it was dark and cold. I saw something at my feet that I picked up. Interviewer: Describe the items you picked up. W-1: There was a compass, and then a notecard. The notecard said something really cheesy on it, like "Go towards the arrow and you'll find your heart," or something like that. Interviewer: Describe your exploration of the level. W-1: I took the compass, and I decided that the "arrow" in the note meant the arrow on the compass, so I started walking north. Interviewer: Did you encounter any entities? W-1: Um, no, at least not directly. I heard a lot of shaking of leaves and crunching of grass like something was moving around, so maybe there were entities, I'm not sure. I did, however, catch a glimpse of what looked like an arm. Interviewer: Like a human arm or a Clump arm? W-1: Not entirely sure. As soon as I saw it, I ran. Interviewer: Did you encounter any structures or buildings? W-1: No, I didn't find any structures or buildings. Interviewer: How did you enter and exit the level? W-1: I entered it through the Hub, and I'm not entirely sure on how I exited. I was walking north, and I really wished I would come up on something to keep me going, since I was getting tired and hungry. I then found a stash of food and almond water. It was a miracle, and I thought that it'd probably be good if I ended up in Level 1, which was a good place to relax and rest my legs. I then noclipped through the ground and I found myself in Level 1. Interviewer: So, you wished you would get food, then you would go to Level 1, and it happened? W-1: Yep, really weird, I've never had that happen to me with a level. It's like it knew what I wanted and gave it to me. Interviewer: Interesting. Is there anything else you can tell me about the level? W-1: That's it. INTERVIEW 1: END

INTERVIEW 2: START Interviewer: W-2, can you tell me what you remember when you first appeared in the level? W-2: I remember falling, and I hit the ground hard, and I think I broke my nose. I had landed on wet grass, and I smelled damp leaves, like it had just rained. I was in a forest, and it was really dark, but the stars were really bright, so I could see pretty good. Interviewer: Did you find any items from where you were? W-2: I found a souvenir compass, and a note that had something on it that I don't remember. Interviewer: Describe your exploration of the level. W-2: I ditched the compass, since it looked like it was no help to me in this level. I started off in a random direction, and I heard voices saying something like, "Follow the arrow." Really creepy. Interviewer: Did you encounter any Entities? W-2: I did find a pile of leaves that looked suspicious, and when I got close to it, a bunch of arms came out of it and grabbed me. It dragged me to this pit, and when I hit the bottom, I passed through it and into in Level !. Some good luck right there. Interviewer: Is there anything else you can tell me about the level? W-2: Not really. There was nothing in that forest. No buildings, no hideouts, nothing. I was hoping I'd find a branch of M.E.G. in it and resupply. Interviewer: Alright then. Thank you for your time. W-2: My pleasure. INTERVIEW 2: END

INTERVIEW 3: START Interviewer: W-3. Describe the appearance of the level when you got there. W-3: It was a forest, and it was night. It was freezing cold, and I really wished I had a coat on me. Interviewer: Based on previous interviews, I'm guessing you found two items at your feet. W-3: Yes, a compass and a note. Interviewer: What did the note say? W-3: I have it here, I decided to hang onto it. [W-3 pulls out note from backpack] "Walk the way of the arrow, and you will find whatever your heart desires." At the time, I didn't really get what that meant. Interviewer: Describe your exploration of the level. W-3: I used the compass, and the "arrow" from the note seemed to match the arrow in the compass, so I walked north. While I was walking, I found this coat on the ground. And guess what? It was the right size for me! That's some good luck right there! Interviewer: Did you find any outposts or colonies? W-3: No, I didn't find any. Really strange. This place seemed like a good place to setup a base or two. It had good supplies for building, good cover from entities, would have been perfect. Interviewer: Did you encounter any entities? W-3: Yes, I found a Clump hiding in a pit as I was walking. It "saw" me and came after me, and I ran like hell. Interviewer: How did you escape? W-3: As I was running, I prayed and prayed that I would come up on a safe haven, like Level 3999, and strangely enough, I exited the forest and found the arcade that's in Level 3999. I guess nature threw me a bone and let me live. Interviewer: Well, I'm glad you made it. Thank you for your time. W-3: Yeah, I hope I don't end up there again. INTERVIEW 3: END

Based on the information above, researchers theorize that Level 376 may act as a crossroads for the Backrooms, similar to the Hub. Researchers also guess that whatever the Wanderer needs will be given to them, and wherever the Wanderer wishes to go, they will go as long as they head north. Those who do not head north, like the Wanderer in interview 2, may end up in a hazardous level if not careful.
