Level 98 is the 99th level of The Backrooms.

Description:

Level 98 is a prison that looks to be abandoned for several decades. The walls are covered in some kind of black mold, the floor is covered with cracks that seem to lead to a void and the roof is leaking some sort of red fluid, this has been classified to be Liquid Pain, it is advised to not drink or be exposed to it. All people you will see here are Facelings, prison cells are 8 by 10 feet, capable of fitting 2 people, they are also fitted with bunk beds, a table, a chair, a toilet, a sink, and a bookshelf filled with books that have blank pages. The guards here are normally nice (say you don't break any rules), but the prisoners are the opposite, they will welcome you and be nice to you for 2 days, but after the 2 day mark, things take a dark turn.

The lights in this level are typically broken, or emit a faint white light, the only main light source you will have here is your prison cell light as it is the only one not broken. Frozen Almond Water can be found in the freezer but only in cube form, these Almond Water ice cubes cannot melt within this level. Upon spawning in this level, you will be greeted by The Warden and given orange jumpsuits and black shoes, beside you is the table, filled with pens, pencils, erasers and books, then on your right is the bookshelf, the bunks beds behind you will either be empty, or have another person sleeping in one of them. DO NOT WAKE THEM UP. The doors in this level besides your prison cell door and fire exit do not work, when you try opening them, you will immediately feel scared and back away from the door. It is not recommended to exit via the Fire Exit door as this will send you to Level !. You do not starve in this level but you will feel double the thirst you would normally experience than in other levels.

Colonies & Outposts:

Due to the nature of this level, there are currently no Colonies or Outposts.

Entities:

· The Guards - The Guards are Adult Facelings in a prison guard costume, they are typically docile and armed with guns ranging from pistols to straight up Miniguns, they are all in varying sizes ranging from 5'7 to 6'8 feet. Once they are hostile either by provoking them (punching or saying mean words to them) or hurting other prisoners. They will point their guns at you and put you in Level -186 for 5 hours, make them hostile again and they will shoot you and send you to Level ! EX.

· The Prisoners - Adult Facelings in orange jumpsuits, they are normally the same height (6 feet) but people have reported seeing prisoners 4 feet or 7 feet. They are docile for 2 days. After the 2 day mark, they will ignore you and will not help you with anything for 5 days, after 1 week, they will become aggressive to you and steal everything you have, this will continue on for 3 weeks until they eventually start a riot and kill you in the most gruesome way possible.

· The Warden - The Warden is a level-exclusive entity, speculated to be an Adult Human Male measuring 6'5 feet, they only show up in the first few seconds you enter this level and never appear to you again, little is known about this entity due to its nature of disappearing shortly after being seen.

Entrances:

· Finding and wearing an orange jumpsuit in any level will send you here.

· Running Prison.exe in The End will send you here.

· Running PrisonG.exe in The End will turn you into a Faceling before being sent here wearing a blue prison guard costume and leather shoes with a weapon you favor the most (excluding futuristic and mythical weapons).

· Killing 50 Facelings in any level will send you here.

· No-clipping into any graffiti spray painted on the wallpaper in Level 0 will send you here.

· Killing any person in Level 97 or Level 99 will send you here.

Exits:

· Leaving via the Fire Exit door will send you to Level !.

· Killing yourself will send you to Level Fun.

· Being nice to everyone and standing beside a guard during a riot and the prisoners failing to kill you will send you to The Hub.

· Being shot by the guards will send you to Level ! EX.

· Killing a guard will send you to Level 6.

· Drawing anything in the books will send you to Level Scribble.
