Level 3998 is the 3999th level of the Backrooms.

Description
Level 3998 looks akin to a lobby area of an entertainment establishment. When entering you will first appear in the lobby area, there are cashier registries strewn across the area, some have counters where supplies are contained in them, but under no circumstances should they be taken. Only a few smilers, roam this floor, but they are all not hostile, only becoming hostile if a partygoer is near, or you take any form of supplies that are not offered to you by the smilers. When entering this level, if you are lacking supplies, or if you are exhausted, the smilers will come to you and bring you food, almond water, and sometimes bedding. Getting near these smilers after they offer you supplies, will result in them running away. You can (GUNSHOT) also have conversations with them, and they can answer questions like the conductor, although the chances of this happening are slim as they will almost always run away from you.
If you decide to travel in any direction -besides ones that lead back to the entrance of Level 3998- for around 10-15 minutes, you will reach a dining area, where many vacant tables, and dining booths exist. The flooring changes from a lacquered plastic tile, to cheap retro styled carpet, which have arrow patterns that accurately show north, east, south and west. Wandering across this area, you will sometimes come across a partygoer corpse, and a cake, which is "The Cake" so avoid it at all costs. For an unknown reason, any partygoers in this level will be exterminated by the smilers, this also includes you yourself if you touch the cake, even when you haven't fully physically transformed. Any corpse of the partygoer will dissolve, but it is unknown why the corpse besides the cake does not dissolve. There is a rare chance where you can find a bell on one of the booths/tables. If you ring this bell, it will noclip you into The Snackrooms.
While you're in the dining area, if you walk in the same direction as the way you walked when traversing from the lobby to the dining area, you will then reach a wide hall which has hanging neon signs that says "Arcade." Going into this hall will then noclip you into level 3999. However if you walk in the opposite direction, you will soon come across a used party room, and be noclipped into what is presumed to be Level fun. This is however unconfirmed, as the witnesses who saw people disappear, later saw them reappear back in the spot they were noclipped. Physically the appeared to be normal and unaffected, however these people now only repeat the word "Fun" and as such they can't tell anyone what they have witnessed during their disappearance.
Colonies and Outposts
M.E.G
- A Military Government formed by many wanderers in the Backrooms, with an aim of keeping wanderers safe from threats in the backrooms.
- Made up of 14 members.
- The M.E.G. recently sent a team of scientists and explorers to check out the smilers of level 3998, and the supposed abandoned party room, in order extract ways of being able to defeat party goers more easily.
- Currently they are trying to negotiate/enlist the smilers into joining them.
- Have also detained people affected by the abandoned party room and are trying to research them.
Backroom Colonists
- Made by wanderers who had associated with the Backroom Colonists.
- Made of 12 members.
- Checked by members of people in Outpost Skyline every week or so.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
Entering Level 3998 is somewhat of a challenge, and if your goal is to go to Level 3999, it is recommended that you go from the purple wall in Level 11.
Level 3998 can be entered when coming across an entertainment warehouse building in Level 9, or Level 11, chances are however low, as the structure always seems to be disappearing and reappearing in random locations in the levels. You can also enter this level while being in Level 72, by finding an abandoned store with a sign that says "Arcade" above the doors, also you can also enter by going through the "Exit" Portal in Level 382
Exits
Exiting Level 3998 is relatively simple, as when you're in the lobby area, you can head back to the door you came from, and it will noclip you back to whichever level you came from. You can also continue down Level 3998 and reach Level 3999. There is also the possibility of exiting to the presumed Level Fun, however this is highly unrecommended.
