Level 3 is the 4th level in the Backrooms, and it is widely considered by most to be the most dangerous level of the Main Nine.

Survival Difficulty: Class 4

Unsafe

Unsecure

Medium entity count

Description

In Level 3, it is easy to find random objects, some of which can be very valuable, such as lighters and weapons. Level 3 is also the level where the WiFi is the strongest. However beneficial these qualities may seem, many do not set out to specifically enter this level.

Another hallway of Level 3.

The rooms in Level 3 are smaller and tunnels are more claustrophobic than in lower levels. Pipes line the walls and ceilings of Level 3, which makes it easy to distinguish from the previous levels. This level is extremely dangerous, and is home to a considerable amount of entities. Hounds, Facelings, Insanities, Female Deathmoths, Skin-Stealers, Dullers, Smilers, Clumps, Bursters, and Stalkers all seem to inhabit this level. This is the only confirmed Level with Smiler Exterminator. It is recommended to avoid Level 3 when possible. However, there are lots of useful objects lying around on Level 3, so it can be beneficial to stay and collect items if you're really strapped for resources. If you choose to explore Level 3, especially while traveling alone, you should leave as quickly as possible. People who stay on Level 3 for too long will meet one of these fates:

  • Become insane within 2-3 days.
  • Commit suicide within around 72 hours.
  • Get killed by unknown/unconfirmed beings.

Colonies and Outposts

There have been rumors of a group consisting of rabid people that turned insane by the Backrooms.

Of course, these are just rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt, as there was no known evidence to support this.

However, the Mothbusters eliminate Deathmoths at this level and at Level 2.

The Sanity Foundation:

  • A group of 47 members in Level 3.
  • Friendly and open to trade.
  • They work with the M.E.G.
  • Leader is known to be Snipee.

Armageddon:

It is unknown where this colony is, but there are many things that prove it exists. It had a leader named "Jimbo." He was quite fat and has a crooked tooth. The colony comprised of about 10 people and they were not open to trade. They believed that the end was coming, hence the name. Apparently, a very powerful entity entered their base and killed all of them. It is not known what the entity looks like.

M.E.G Base Gamma

  • Third main base of the M.E.G.
  • Population at ≈50
  • Attempts to attack the base have been done by some entities.

The Cashew Empire

  • Has 354 members. Several disappearances are reported, so members quantity can vary.
  • One of the rivals of the M.E.G.
  • Very authoritarian, even though they claim to be honest and good-doing.
  • Can tame entities with a mixture of Cashew Water with other elements, making them very powerful in paper but they have to have an entity drink the water making rabid entities hard to contain and tame, even to their best efforts.
  • Are neutral with wanderers but very hostile with non-affiliated groups.

The Firewielders

  • 17 members reported.
  • Founders of a glitch which lets them fully control lighter fluid to a certain degree.
  • They can make short-lived swords using lighter fluid, though they don't last long due to the low quantity of lighter fluid in common lighters.
  • Though they might seem scary they are welcoming members from other tribes can learn the glitch if they are willing to pay a hefty price, being large quantities of food, almond water and in most of the cases lighters.
  • They have been making shape-shift "Mega Lighters" by using empty almond water bottles and dumping liquified butane found in rare ligthers, these mega lighters seem to change the power of the group a lot more.
  • They can make simple objects like knifes sword shovels and even axes and they work as normal objects with no burning, though they cant make complex objects such as guns.

Leaving Level 3

The only way to leave Level 3 is through elevators which often leads to Level 5 and rarely, Level 4.
