Description
Level 412 takes on the appearance of an abandoned indoor race track. It's covered by a large metal dome and seems to span on for the length of a marathon, although sometimes it extends beyond that. The only entities that have been found here are Dullers, Death Rats and a new level-specific entity, dubbed "Speeders". Speeders take the form of very slender light grey skinned humanoid figures. They lack elbow joints and as such their arms are permanently straight. They are easily able to outrun any normal human, running from 10 mph up to even 25 mph in some reported cases. They attack by raising their arms up and then slamming them into their prey, ripping them apart with their razor-sharp claws. They then have been reported to eat their dead prey, at which point they will be docile and vulnerable, as nothing can interrupt their feeding until there is only bone left. After this they will begin chasing down another prey, or if there are none in the area, idly pace around until something else comes along. They also appear to be very weak, and simple pistol bullets can take them down permanently. Make sure to bring weapons to this level, and if you encounter a Speeder, aim for the legs, which takes them down and renders them nearly immobile.
Colonies and Outposts
There are 3 outposts here.
The Backrooms Olympic Team
- A group of 9 people.
- Friendly.
- Host races with prizes, such as food, Almond Water, other miscellaneous items and weapons.
- Their goal is rending Level 412 as safe as possible, by eliminating all entities and keeping the place safe-looking.
The Pickpocketers
- A group of 4 people.
- Hostile and not open to trading.
- Ambush travelers or set traps to rob them of supplies, and in some cases even kill them.
- Were all miscreants before clipping into the Backrooms, and frequently change levels. Currently stationed here.
Charlie
- A single orange tabby cat entity
- Very friendly and open to trading.
- Comforts lost travelers and welcomes them.
- Says he is from Level 11, can get you to and from safely.
- Has his own teleporter to Level 849 where his friends live
How to Enter and Exit
It is possible to enter through an indoor race track building in Level 11.
It is also possible to enter through any exits not in zone 4 in Level 411
To exit, you need to run, or walk, the entire distance of a marathon. Stopping for more than 1 minute at a time leads to a left turn appearing, and you will need to do the marathon all over again. Once the marathon is over, a wall with a metal door will appear. Opening the metal door leads to Level 6.5. Follow Charlie through the broken washing machine in the locker rooms to get to Level 11. IF, and ONLY IF you ask Charlie if he knew any detours to Level 11, he will instead activate his teleporter and will bring you and himself to Level 849 nearest his outpost.
