Survival Difficulty Class 5
[SAFE{NO}]
[SECURE{NO}]
[ENTITY COUNT{INFESTATION}]
Description
Level 425 is an infinite ocean that is densely populated with a variety of ocean fauna. There are small sandbanks dotting the landscape. Those are your only hope for survival, swim to them. Submersibles capable of being operated by a single pilot are buried intact in the sand. There are some reefs near the bottom of the sea. Those areas are "Safe zones", as the largest aggressive entities there are sharks. The seafloor is 3500 meters down.
Entities:
Plankton: They are microscopic and get energy from the "Sun" at the top of this level
Fish: "Fish" is a blanket term for small entities that inhabit this level. They're edible, and extremely common. They feed off of plankton.
Reef Sharks: These entities hunt around reefs in the shallows. They feed off of mostly Fish, but they will attack humans coming into reefs occasionally, so they are something to be cautious of.
Openwater Sharks: These entities hunt fish in open water. They are generally bigger and more aggressive than Reef Sharks. In addition, they are much faster due to the need to evade some of the larger predators that hunt in the shallows. They do not go deep.
Dolphins: These entities are generally docile to humans. They also eat fish, and travel in groups. They are very skittish, however, and will swim away if there is any risk of danger.
Whales: These entities are gigantic, 60 meters long. They filter plankton and eat it. They are docile for the most part.
Serpents: These entities are the apex predators of the shallower parts of the ocean. Measuring in at 40 meters long, they have mandibles that allow them to grip and tear into prey. They feed off of sharks and dolphins in the open water, and will sometimes bring down whales. They will also attack smaller prey, such as humans and fish.
The one photograph recovered of a serpent. This is the closest anyone has ever gotten to one and lived.
Squids: These entities dwell in the depths. They are 80 meters long ,and they hunt everything in this level.
Abominations of Nature: This is an umbrella term to describe the variety of medium-sized extremely strange-looking entities. Most are hostile to humans.
A close-up photograph
In addition, there are regularly occuring entities throughout the backrooms here, adapted to an aquatic lifestyle.
These are just the main entities, there are plenty of subspecies that have not been documented due to the nature of this level.
Entrances
Fall asleep in any level and dream of the ocean
Exits
Find a crack in the seafloor and go through it, bringing you to Level 426.
Notes:
Despite it's survival difficulty, quite a few people have survived it.
(Note from creator: Credit to Subnautica for the serpent idea because that was a rip)
