Level 436 is the 437th level of the backrooms. level 436 is an endless gas station, and has been labeled "Fading Aisles" or "Inconvenience store" due to the phades within the level.

An image of the gas station when found in level 9; note how it looks like it’s both level 11 and level 9, this is because its the part in-between the two levels.

Description:

Level 436 is an endless gas station, and has been briefly mentioned as far back as when the M.E.G was first made. Sadly, there wasn’t enough evidence to support the existence of level 436. There aren’t many normal entities, but few of them at that. Facelings are the most prominent entity, being the only entity within level 436 everywhere in an area. They are the only entities inside the registers area, and one is at each register. The other entities in this level are in small amounts, but consist of deathmoths, clumps, and smilers, as well as the occasional wretched. These entities, discluding the deathmoths, are far more dangerous; Deathmoths within this level are only the males, therefore they are docile. There are 3 sections to level 436, each with their own separate appearances and contents, but all connected somewhat. These sections are the Aisles, The Employees Only, and the Registers.

The Aisles:

The Aisles are the name for the areas where there is aisles of items, which consists of the Shelves, The Bakeries, The Freezers, and the Food Racks. This area has many level exclusive entities, which consist of Bakers, Living Racks, Curveballs, and Suffer's Supplies. The aisles are endless, therefore it’s not recommended to travel too far into the aisles; there would be no way out if you are lost in the aisles section.

The Shelves:

One of the Shelves, with one Suffer's Supplies on it.

Entities that are in this level spawn much more frequently in this section of Level 436 as well. There is a small chance of finding almond water, food, and other useful items in these shelves, however, this is quite rare, and is likely a Suffer's Supplies.

The Freezers:

The freezers are the second most dangerous area of level 436; they have the Curveballs within them. The freezers are such a dangerous area in this level due to having the highest concentration of Phades, as well as the addition to the Curveballs. The freezers are exactly freezing in terms of temperature, making this area dangerous to stay in for too long.

The Food Racks:

Inside of the food racks, there are many empty bags of chips, and some of the living racks. This is the safest area of the aisles; having rare Phades, and the living racks don't directly kill you. The food racks are recommended if you plan on staying inside this level. Within the food racks, sometimes the lights go out, which can lead you out of the level.

The Bakeries:

The bakeries are generally warm, and somewhat humid. The bakeries are also the most dangerous area in this level. The bakeries have very few phades or other entities other than Bakers. When inside of the bakeries, there is always the smell of a pastry. Said pastries able to be obtained if you avoid bakers and take a box of pastries, though not recommended; If you do happen to eat a pastry from the bakeries, then you will start to feel sick, before collapsing and turning into a bunch of the pastry you ate. You will be alive until a baker comes by; said baker will put you into a box and onto display.

The Registers:

The registers is where all the checkouts are, there is an infinite line of registers; the further you go down the line, the higher the numbers go. You can line up in many of the lines, which have docile Facelings in them. If you wait wait in line, you must scan at least 1 item, and then you will be brought to that level, with the item(s) decided. Any undiscovered levels don’t have Facelings to scan them.

Employees Only:

The employees only zone has the effects of level 11, including phades having it work on them. Within the employees only zone, with many halls that lead to more halls. These halls have been known to be able to end at a janitorial closet, leading to an exit. Other times, they can lead to a dead end that can't be escaped.

Entities:

A picture of the phase inside of an aisle on an older camera.

Phades:

Phades are smiler-like entities that are only found on this level. It’s best to stay away from the shelves due to them roaming the shelves the most; it’s easy for them to find you. If you see one, the best thing to do is run for the registers section. If you fail to do so, the phades will chase you until you die, use cashew water on them, or see a tamed deathmoths.

Suffer's Supplies:

Suffer's Supplies look like normal food. Normally they look just like a normal items that can be found, extremely rarely looking like something such as wormlings. These entities can only be found in the shelves. The possible effects possible are:

  • Almond water acts like cashew water.
  • Level Keys disappear when you leave level 436.
  • Smiler repellent appears to work, but attracts smilers, and is real water if inspected close enough.
  • Memory jars hold hallucinations that distract you.
  • Lamps work like lamps normally do, other than making you feel watched.
  • Memory Juice is rare, but labeled as honey. This will instantly make the memory juice effects of having too much happen instantly.
  • Liquid Pain is inside almond water containers, and has no way to tell its not almond water until its too late.
  • Royal Rations make you instantly turn into a baker. It is unknown why this happens.
  • Liquid Silence causes scream eaters to appear around you, and harm you
  • Squirt Guns shoot liquid pain of this level at you
  • Consequential Cubes Always result in the red sides effects.
  • Wall Masks have no identified changes
  • Babel Balm makes it so that you forget how to speak.
  • Cashew Water This reacts like normal, just double the effects.
  • Mobile Vacuum Cleaners suck you into them and you slowly die if you touch one.
  • Worn Sacks are unable to hold anything at all.

The Bakers:

The bakers are only found within the bakeries section of the aisles. These bakers are somehow extremely smart, and are extremely dangerous; they will not hesitate and are extremely quick. Bakers are somehow able to reproduce; this happens when someone eats a Suffer's Supplies that is hidden as a royal rations. Bakers are the most dangerous entity within this level. If you are unlucky enough to be caught by a baker, the best thing to do is to hit it.

Curveballs:

Curveballs are the entity that are found within the freezers area of the aisles. These sit inside the freezers, and the freezers open randomly when people walk past and let the curveballs fire at high speeds into the person. Curveballs are extremely dangerous if they hit you in a place that they can shatter. If they shatter, they will spray ice spikes all over the place, likely blinding the wanderer unlucky enough to get hit by the Curveball.

The Living Racks:

The living racks are racks that mimic the normal racks. These said racks are able to move by spinning out of control and moving directly to the said person. Rarely, you will noclip this entity. When that happens you fall into the start of level 436. Otherwise, they can cause severe damage by crashing into a wanderer, and falling over upon hitting the wanderer.

Colonies/outposts:

There are currently no colonies or outposts, and are presumably impossible to make due to no one ever seeing another human in this level, although it’s possible this is just because very few humans end up in level 436, and seems to support that multiple humans can be here by wretched existing in this level.

Entrances/Exits:

Entrances:

  • To enter from level 11 or level 9, find an abandoned gas station and enter. Then closing the door behind you, you will find that the door will no longer be openable once closed and be in level 436.
  • You can enter from level 610, level 90, level 427, level 714, and Level 6.1 by finding a Bakery and taking a box of pastries.(can be rotten)
  • Very rarely in level 11 you can find a destroyed looking gas station. It should look out of place. Entering it leads here.

Exits:

  • You can exit by no-clipping into the shelves; this will lead you to level Level 20.
  • You can exit through a door in janitors closet door to enter level 0, 1, 4, 934, and 1006, with the door disappearing behind you.
  • There are sometimes storage rooms within the employees only. Entering these brings you to level 20, with the door disappearing behind you.
  • In the registers, you can line up at a cash register with Facelings waiting to go to the co-responding level.
