Level 436: level difficulty undocumented.
Level 436 is an endless gas station, and has been labeled "Inconvenient store" due to how many skin stealers and facelings there are.
Description:
level 436 is an endless gas station, and has been briefly mentioned as far back as when the first explorer to go from level 9 to level 11. There aren’t many entity types, but there are many entities. There are very few insanities, since the only way for insanities to get into level 436 is for someone to go insane in level 436, which is easy to do. The other entities in this level are in small amounts, but consist of facelings, male and female deathmoths, clumps, and smilers. These entities act slightly more hostile. There are 2 sections to level 436, each with their own separate appearances and contents, however with the same entities. These sections are the aisles and the registers.
An image of the gas station when found in level 11 from the outside. note how it looks like it’s both level 11 and level 9, it’s assumed this is a part where it is inbetween the two levels.
The aisles:
The aisles are endless as far as we know, so it’s not recommended to travel too far into the aisles, as there is no way back if you get lot in the aisles section. Entities that are in this level spawn much more frequently in this section of level 436 as well. There is a small chance of finding almond water, food, and other useful items in these shelves, however, there is not nearly as much as level 6.5
An image of the aisles section of level 436. There is a small candy bar on one of the shelves, and food is rarely bad, so it’s smart to take any food you find on the shelves.
The registers:
The registers is where all the checkouts are, and it’s an infinite line of them, to our knowledge. It’s known that the further you go down the line, the higher the numbers go. You can line up in many of the lines, which have docile facelings in them, and if you wait for your turn, you must scan at least 1 item, and then you will be brought to that level, with the item(s) decided. Any undiscovered levels don’t have someone to scan them.
Entities:
Phases:
Phases are very dangerous entities that are only found on this level. It’s best to stay away from the aisles due to them roaming the aisles, and it’s easy for them to find you. If you see one, the best thing to do is run for the registers section. If you don’t do that, the Phases will chase you until you die, use cashew water on them, or you will loose your remaining sanity.
An image of a phase, photo taken by a presumably dead explorer, and the photo was found on a very old camera, presumably before we had this entree.
Colonies/outposts:
There are currently no colonies or outposts, and are presumably impossible to make due to no one ever seeing another human in this level, although it’s possible this is just because very few humans end up in level 436, and seems to support that multiple humans can be here by insanities existing in this level.
Entrances and Exits:
Entrances:
There is another way to enter, from level 11, by finding an abandoned gas station, entering, and closing the door behind you. You will find that the door will no longer be openable once closed.
There is no other specific ways to enter to this level, although there are multiple levels where people randomly entered this level. It is assumed that it is related by an action, although no one seems to remember what they were doing before ending up in this level.
Going from level 9 to level 11 will allow you to enter the abandoned gas station, though it’s rare to appear, and it rarely doesn’t let you in.
Exits:
You can exit by no-clipping into the negatives in the aisles.
There are sometimes storage rooms, entering these brings you to level 20, with the door disappearing behind you.
In the registers, you can line up at a cash register with facelings waiting to go to the co-responding level.
Alternatively, although highly recommended against, you can go to a register without any facelings to be transported to one of the following levels: level 1.5, the end, and other extremely undesirable levels, though many believe it can lead to the frontrooms too
