Description

Sublevel 5.5 is a sublevel located within Level 5, this sublevel takes on the appearance of an old Victorian mansion of indeterminate size, the mansion appears to be covered in a tiny layer of dust that makes it look as if it hasn't been inhabited in weeks (it's not recommended to come here if the dust gives you severe allergies, we are not responsible for any allergies you catch while here), the entire mansion is lit by high quality porcelain and gold chandeliers, with candles that seem to never go out completely, all the lighting in the sublevel consists of only candles, without any electricity, although wifi is still available, this wifi is very slow, as slow as dial-up internet.

ambience heard in darker areas

The entire mansion consists of library rooms, living rooms, personal rooms, bathrooms, stairs going up and down, Victorian corridors and more corridors, these corridors tend to either end in dead ends, crossroads and more corridors with lots of doors leading to more rooms, all these rooms will always look either neat or messy, there is the minuscule chance of getting supplies here, so if you find yourself in a room with supplies, don't think it twice and grab them.

The whole place seems to be at a constant 50°F (10°C), but near the chimneys the temperature is a permanent 68°F (20°C), providing heat in only the areas that have chimneys, such as rooms and living rooms, if you also feel cold but you don't have a fireplace nearby, grab a candle and create a temporary heat source with the wood you have nearby, like with old and broken furniture, break it and create an makeshift campfire, don't worry, the mansion is fireproof.

There are areas in this sublevel that are completely dark, they are the most dangerous, scary sounds coming have been heard from either a chest or a closet, as is known, this sublevel does not seem to be inhabited by anything other than ghosts, these ghosts are not classified as part of the entity category and should not be, these ghosts are very different from traditional ghosts, they scare people and that's it, but this is not the case for these ghosts, these are ghosts that are very hostile and live in areas without any light, areas that are in complete darkness, if you hear a cry of fear and lament behind a room door, do not go there, I repeat, do not go there.

Hemingway-gagnon-highresscreenshot00006.jpg Darker area of the sublevel, ghosts can't come here.

These ghosts are the souls in pain of people who unfortunately could not leave the sublevel, in the past, they were people with bad character and psychotic tendency, unable to leave the sublevel, they had no choice but to commit suicide, they are able to grab objects and use them against unlucky wanderers.

Due to the great hostility that the ghosts possess in this sublevel, some areas that contain rooms with these ghosts should not be considered habitable, since a ghost is capable of lifting an object in the air or torturing a person with whatever it has within reach.

Two guys explore level 5.5 until they hear inhuman sounds.

<Commence>

John: For the last time Daniel, there is no such thing as a ghost, they are pure nonsense invented by our parents to go to sleep early.

Daniel: You're right, my parents always used that ghost excuse to send me to bed early, there is no such thing as a ghost.

*inhuman crying sounds*

Daniel: D-Did you hear that? there's a fucking haunting cry in the next room, too fucking scary, don't even think I'll go down there, who knows what inhuman horrors beyond our comprehension are in there right now.

John: But man, we must explore the place, it is the task that we were given.

Daniel: ARE YOU CRAZY?!? remember "God save you if you hear something wandering nearby, because is sure as hell as heard you."

John: You're right, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't explore the place, we will anyway.

Daniel: Well, but it's not my fault if a fucking smiler or whatever kills us by surprise, anyway *deep breath* let's go inside.

John: well, here goes nothing.

*They open the door to find another hallway*

Daniel: you're kidding me, it's another hallway.

John: I know right? It's another fucking corridor, but there is something unsettling in the air, think about it, there may be something hidden, some horror beyond our current understanding that is waiting for us.

Daniel: We've only explored almost nothing in this fucking huge mansion, we've explored scarier and more dangerous places, but this hallway, no thanks.

John: hey what is that coming towards us-

you hear a inhuman screech

*Audio cuts off abruptly*

Theories

The sublevel may be a very old version of Level 5, as as can be noted, Level 5 appears to be built after the Victorian era, and this sublevel is built during the Victorian era, although this may be highly unconfirmed due to the huge size of the sublevel.

Entities

Here there are no entities other than ghosts, and I repeat, these are not entities, please, they should not be classified as entities.

Colonies and Outposts

Montgomery Dynasty Outpost Beta

Apparently, this outpost is the oldest outpost that exists in the entire sublevel, founded in the year 1923, this outpost is made up of no more than 150 people, its location is not exact due to the comically ridiculous size of the sublevel, which is even larger than its parent level; this outpost is always open to receive more people, since they were able to claim about 10 corridors with 20 rooms, a kitchen, a large library with a fireplace that gives enough heat for everyone here, a large living room where lost people can sleep safely and a security team in case there is an attack by another group, they also have many cans and bottles of almond water, enough for 40 years.

Almond Water Inc Outpost Victoria

Location of the outpost victoria.

Founded in the year 1995, this is another outpost located here, it consists of about 250 permanent members, with a security team of about 30 people, and with a team of 20 scientists, the rest are civilians rescued from the sublevel, they have been given water and food, so also rooms to live in, these have a huge supply of food and almond water enough for 60 years, these supplies are shared amongst Outpost Beta.

This outpost is almost difficult to locate due to the mansion's comically huge size.

Almond Water Inc Outpost Winston Churchill

Outpost Winston Churchill is an outpost named after its most iconic inhabitant, and yes, it is Winston Churchill himself, he claims to have appeared here in January 25, 1965, a day after his death, he reported that after appearing here, he began to explore the place in search of a way out, but without success he could not, he seems not to age after his arrival here, since he dematerialized and materialized in the backrooms after his death.

Located near Oupost Victoria, this is another outpost belonging to Almond Water Inc, the outpost has a population of 60 people at the time of writing, and this number continues to rise. due to the occurrence of lost wanderers who have already been rescued.

Backroom Colonists

This is another Backroom Colonists base, with a population of only 40 people, it does not have a security team, but is defended and supplied by Outpost Victoria.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

This sublevel can be accessed simply by finding a Victorian hallway lit only by candles and chandeliers in any part of the hotel, although this is very impossible to find.

Exits

you can use the same corridor that was used to enter, although technically the corridor can disappear when entering the sublevel, there may still be ways to exit the sublevel, diving into a tub filled to the brim can take you to Level 7 , another way is to enter a completely dark room and wait for a ghost to attack you, this will take you to Level 6, although this is not recommended, and another but unconfirmed way is to jump through dark windows and white windows, dark windows will take you to Level 9, while white windows will take you to Level 11.
