Level 505 is the 506th level of the backrooms.

Description

Level 505 consists of a giant and eternal forest, full of tall trees with twisted roots and branches that form figures. There are rivers and water flows that circulate throughout the level, as well as rock bridges. The flowers grow across the level, all being white and red, and interspersed.

The biggest conundrum of Level 505 is that there can only be one wanderer at a time inside the level, and when this happens, the level door will be closed until he escapes or dies inside the level. There is no type of document extracted from the level because there are few lucky ones who have been able to escape from the level, and if they do, they prefer not to remember the traumatic scenarios they suffered.

The entire level is mired in silence and misery. Any wanderer who enters the level will suffer from feelings of pain and nostalgia for the past.

The most terrifying of the level is the only entity that lives in it, "Mercy Memory", a mysterious monster without form, invisible, but captured by the soul. This monster will leave messages in the form of a poster throughout the level (like the one shown in the reference photo) with contents such as "remember me?" or "I want your blood". These messages will cause great suffering and terror in the wanderer. It is said that Mercy Memory will only show her true form when she wants to eat a wanderer, so it is impossible to tell what she looks like. However, the survivors of the level claim to hear a young woman's voice in their minds as they go through the level.

Once you enter the level, you won't know Mercy Memory's location, but she will know yours. Rumors suggest that this entity lives in a cabin deep in the forest made with the remains of the wanderers, from whom it steals their bones and skin, but it is impossible to know if this is true at the moment.

According to the records related to the level, it has been confirmed that a total of 9 wanderers have managed to survive the level, although it could be more. However, the number of deaths is excessively high (96.7% of wanderers suspected of entering have not been seen again. The smallest difference in time presented between two survivors is calculated to be approximately 50 days, therefore, the feeding cycle of "Mercy Memory" would be located in an estimated period of time of a month and a half. However, the survivors have been in the level for a period of between 3 and 5 days, so the test period would be an average of 4 days, between which the entity will decide to eat or let the wanderers escape.

When the wanderers were asked for a physical description of Mercy Memory, 7 of them claimed not to see her at any time, they only heard her sweet voice until a random door to levels 123 and 213 appeared. The statements of the last 2 wanderers, if true, would suggest that the beast had the appearance of a rabbit with the height of 2 humans built with rag, having several red threads around the limbs and neck. Apparently none of them saw his face directly, only his rear. Since both statements provide similar content, their veracity has been estimated.

Regarding the way to escape from the level, all the wanderers agreed that they went through a moment of initial terror when listening to the voices of the entity and reading its messages. Some pointed out that throughout the level there were traps placed in strategic locations, such as nets or catapults, made of wood. None fell for the traps. In addition, 3 of them claimed to hear a voice at night that warned them to go to a cave located in the south to obtain resources, but none of them went either. Apparently, the interest of the entity would be to feed on the prey that showed a follow-up to its orders and messages.

Apparently all survivors of the level have constant memory loss, which has been associated with post-traumatic stress. However, three of those questioned began to feel a great headache when talking about the level, and 2 of them disappeared a few days after arguing their statements, which suggests that the entity somehow follows the footsteps of the wanderers escaping the level, a fact that makes more sense since they were the last 2 to escape.

Entities

The only known entity of the level is Mercy Memory.

Colonies and Outposts

There are no known colonies in the level due to the hostile conditions.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • One way of entering the level is opening a door located in a mysterious place of Level 555, with the draw of a mouse.
  • You can also enter this level by randomly entering in a tree's gap of level 873 and waiting for one hour without opening the eyes (it is not always there).

Exits

  • The only way of escaping the level is by being forgotten by Mercy Memory, for doing that you need to fight your fear and not fall into her traps. That will teleport you to Level 123 or Level 213.
  • It's not fully secured, but no-clipping on a colossal white tree trunk could land you at any random deadzone difficulty level.
