Level 514 is a seemingly infinite mansion with a vapor-wave aesthetic. The level mainly consists of lobbies, pools, dining rooms, libraries, bedrooms, arcades, nightclubs, and many more. One will feel astonished and alienated by the extreme vapor-wave aesthetic when entering; however, as time goes on, wanderers will feel more and more relaxed. It is unknown if it is an anomalous effect or simply due to the level's habitable nature. The database references this level as a safe haven that many crave for; however, very few reach this level due to it's reclusive nature, niche entrances, and being a level buried deep within cluster 1.

Any hostile entities are also passive, seemingly because of the level 11 effect. However, with the exception of Glowfolk encounters, entities are incredibly rare. The abundance of Entity 81 has led many to believe that Level 514 is the native habitat of the Glowfolk, though the claim is backed by little evidence. It should be noted that there are also sightings of an enigmatic species not yet to be fully documented in the database (see entities section), it is advised not to approach them.

The level emulates vaporwave or synthwave music in the distance, although the specific music and loudness may vary from wanderer to wanderer.

The Center is the definitive starting point and core nexus of Level 514, an expansive room measuring approximately 200 square meters that all wanderers no-clip into upon arrival. Resembling the grand lobby of a mansion, the room is illuminated by the enchanting glow of hypnotic ring-shaped lights pulsating in vibrant shades of pink, purple, and cyan. Vaporwave stripe lights weave continuously around the perimeter, creating a dynamic interplay of color that dances across the walls and floor. As the largest and most diverse area to be discovered on Level 514, the Center serves as the level's sole unique region, radiating outwards in all directions into countless other areas that consist of countless similar duplicates found deeper within.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

While guest rooms may vary slightly in architecture, they adhere to a consistent overall design that includes the typical features of a guest room: beds, bathrooms, closets, and recreational activities, all in a retro futuristic aesthetic. It is important to note that Neon Water is abundant in this environment, often found in cabinets and nightstands, along with occasional food items. The area also displays a mysterious phenomenon where recreational devices are personalized to suit the preferences of the guests, as if an algorithm has already garnered such information; it is unknown how this process works.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

The lounge or venue is a broad term that refers to areas used for eating, socializing, and relaxing. It is one of the most common and diverse spaces within the level. These areas range from traditional bars and nightclubs to rest lounges and full-service restaurants, often featuring prepared food and drinks available at empty counters. Wanderers may occasionally discover kitchens connected to these spaces, equipped with necessary supplies and tools for cooking. Due to a lack of information, it is unknown whether consuming such food items may lead to adverse effects, although the database has not recorded any instances of such. The Staff seems to manifest here more than in the other areas...

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

Lobbies are the second-largest areas found in Level 514. They typically resemble the layout of an upscale hotel lobby with vaporwave aesthetics, similar to other regions of the level. Wanderers can find front desks, interconnecting hallways, grand decor, couches, and other architectural features commonly found in standard lobbies. Lobbies are often combined with lounges, resulting in what are known as lobby lounges, a common feature in luxury hotels. It is theorized that lobbies serve as small nexuses, linking all the other areas together, as lobbies that lead to multiple spaces are quite common. From the lobby, one can access nearby lounges and find stairways or elevators that lead to hallways filled with guest rooms and other locations. Additionally, the lobby serves as a gathering spot for the Glowfolk, possibly due to its interconnecting nature.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

The gardens feature advanced greenhouses designed for cultivating vegetables, which are likely the source of produce for kitchens. Additionally, there are ornamental gardens intended solely for aesthetic enjoyment. The biology of these plants resembles that of plants in baseline reality, although some slight subspecies variations may exist. Some plants also display a faint glow that is currently unexplained; further investigation is needed to understand their nature. It remains unknown where kitchens obtain their meat supplies, as the greenhouses only provide fruits and vegetables. Therefore, the database advises wanderers to consume food cautiously. Occasionally, one might see The Staff tending to the gardens, although it is unclear how much they contribute, as much of the work is performed by alien technology.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

The pools are available in various sizes, with some being more luxurious than others; however, they all maintain high-quality standards. The water consistently remains at the perfect temperature, providing immediate comfort. In certain instances, the water is infused with Neon Water, creating a mesmerizing neon hue. Nearby, wanderers will find vending machines and changing rooms, where you can select food and beverages without the need for currency; simply selecting your desired item will suffice. The changing rooms also include saunas and baths, as one would expect in a luxurious pool environment. Multiple reports have also shown that one may encounter mysterious clothing items scattered throughout the area; it is unknown whether these clothes are from previous wanderers or an anomalous property of the level.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

This area may differ slightly from the libraries you find in baseline reality, not only because of the vaporwave aesthetic, but also due to its expansive nature and the unique technology present in this level. The database classifies this area as having the second-highest average technology rate, surpassed only by the Greenhouses. Common technologies include rising platforms that provide access to higher shelves, as well as highly advanced computers and other devices. It's unclear if this technology is similar to Level 15. However, the Backroom Pioneers temporarily communicated across levels with these devices, suggesting they may have controlled quantum tunneling capabilities like those reverse-engineered by the group at Level 15. This area appears frequently and serves as an ideal resting place for wanderers, with snacks and soft drinks occasionally also found on the tables.

𝕯𝖊𝖘𝖈𝖗𝖎𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓[]

The Arcades of Level 514 are massive, self-contained entertainment complexes that outshine any from baseline reality. Bursting with vibrant, futuristic game machines illuminated by dazzling neon lights. The architecture combines 80s retro-futurism with complicated geometry; hallways twisting back on themselves, and price counters hidden in a maze full of rooms and machines. The games feature holographic displays, full-body motion capture, and haptic feedback systems that feel remarkably real. Occasionally, a few Glowfolk may be waiting at the counter, allowing travelers to exchange coins for random prizes, but these desks are often left unattended, locking out the prizes that seemingly manifest alongside the Glowfolk.

Since level 514 seemingly follows Euclidean geometry and has a central no-clipping point, it is slightly more navigable than certain levels; However, due to the level's infinite space and reclusive nature, navigation is still deemed difficult and serves little to no purpose. With the lack of direction and little to no technology, wanderers may easily get lost.

Vaporwave

Oh don't worry! Who cares about being lost? You can find rest and food here easily! Swim in the pool! What are you trying to navigate anyways..?

Recovered Note:

Isn't this place amazing? Its all yours! Rest here all you want!

Vaporwave mansion Level 514

I do not know what to say about this level... everything seems perfect, and I mean everything! Finally, I get to rest, after all that hardship, I got here. As I wandered through the serene halls of the level, I remembered the days in reality when I'd walk into the distance by myself, enjoying my time.

The appearance of the level is truly something else, words can't describe the beauty of the environment. This is truly a dream coming true, walking through halls upon halls of polished, futuristic architecture, as if I'm a elitist pacing in my room at midnight, knowing that I've made it, that no one can bother me, resting in my small pool of tranquility.

The atmosphere of this level is perfect, liminal in the best way. Safe, yet with a tinge of uncertainty and mysteriousness, exposing your sense of emptiness and loneliness while also feeding you a sense of peace and tranquility, it is simply dreamlike. I would have never thought I could make it to a place like this, and as far as I know, this place is practically empty, not a single soul. I would like to keep it that way...

There is no one here to bother me, no due date, no pressure, no taxes, no entities, no people, no near-death experiences. I've got everything here, food, water, a place to rest. This is the peace I've always wanted. Only me, and I always dreamed of returning to my home, baseline reality, but after experiencing this haven, I know I'm staying here forever.

Wait... I hear footsteps. Footsteps... getting closer.

Due to the reclusive and isolating nature of this level and the backrooms overall, there is only one documented outpost in the level, as it is incredibly hard to chance upon another wanderer.

A lost sub-division of the Pioneers during the bloodbath of cluster 1, landing in level 514, then abandoned due to the subsequent collapse of The Backroom Pioneers (Previous version of The Backroom Colonists). However, Base Morpheus regained contact after the reformation of The Backroom Colonists and has remained an outpost of the reformed group. There is no further information, as the Colonists have trouble contacting the outpost despite harnessing quantum siphoning, with many researchers deeming this settlement abandoned or a lost cause.

Entities are very rare on Level 514, with all having the level 11 effect, rendering them passive. The only exception being the Glowfolk, as the level seems to be a common habitatof said entity. Many even rumored this to be original level of Entity 81, although this claim goes no further than common speculation, offering no substantial evidence.

Description

The staff seems to be a parasitic and invasive entity that arrived at Level 514 during an unknown period, the entity feasts on the wanderer's urge to escape from the trauma they experienced. The staff takes advantage of a wanderer's slow addiction to this level and consumes their lost empty feelings. Naturally, Level 514 became an ideal hunting ground. Despite this, it is incredibly rare to meet this entity, although many say that the staff is always watching.

Vaporwave

That is not true! Well... What's wrong with being lost anyway...? You'll feel safe here, away from all your insecurities!

Have you ever heard of the amazing concept of infinite Tsukuyomi?

Reports of the appearance of the staff vary, though the overall description matches. Rumors say that they are ethereal but can sometimes manifest themselves physically. The entity appears to be pale, ghost-like humanoids similar to the Yokai in Japanese folklore. Some reports say that the staff wears black business suits, others reported the staff wearing traditional Japanese clothing, concerningly, there also have been rare reports where they wear little to no attire. The gender of the staff seems to depend on the gender preference of the wanderer, as they will always manifest themselves as the sex they are most attracted to. There are rare sightings of the entity handing out room keys and luring wanderers to unknown destinations.

The staff is a passive entity that tends to level 514. While the Glowfolk seems to be wary of the staff, the entity pose no risk. The staff are friendly to wanderers and may assist them in adjusting to this level, occasionally tending gardens, cleaning nightclubs, and do other helpful acts. The entity is rarely spotted in the level not because of its alien identity, but because of the infinite and expansive nature of the level itself.
