“We used to be so happy, playing in the snow. We had fun, but then came the great war. Sand and snow clashed together, battling an intense duel. The sand was victorious, and we were filled with woe.

Now we are trapped here, on this desolate land of snow.

Now we are trapped here, with nowhere to go.”

The sand people have started invading our home, taking our belongings like the wicked thieves they are. If I ever had the chance, I would freeze them in the vast wastelands of what used to be our town. They hurt us, tortured us, and took advantage of us for their benefit. They are the sole reason why my family and I had to flee into the forest. Everybody is miserable now, and I wish I were dead instead.

I'm starting to hear rustling noises as if someone were nearby. I've become increasingly paranoid as the sand people are still trotting on our city, slaughtering every single person they see. I've started seeing a therapist to help me with my paranoia and my feelings, but it keeps getting worse. I'm also starting to get suspicious. I see bits of sand mixed with the snow, and I think they might be nearby, but nobody believes me.

I will never doubt myself ever again. The sand people have approached the forest, and I have fled to a much more safe area. Sometimes at night, I can hear gunshots being fired and the screams of our people. I wish I could do something to help them, but the sand people are superior to us. They have more manpower than us, and everybody keeps panicking, nobody is thinking logically, not even me.

It's over. It's officially over. They have surrounded our whole land and people are dying left and right. Nowhere is safe anymore, we are all going to die. Those goddamn sand people won't see the last of me. I swear to god I will come back, stronger and healthier than ever, and I will murder every single person that harmed our kingdom.

Description[]

Level 523, also known and addressed as “Wintry Battlefields", is fairly unusual. It isn't considered a level, but rather an abandoned town or kingdom, as it has its language, structures et cetera. It has its history, culture, and so much more. Level 523 resembles a huge land of snow that was supposedly occupied by a kingdom due to the various amounts of structures, houses, and places there are. The entirety of the level seems abandoned due to the lack of living people or entities in it. Lots of places and structures on the level have been severely damaged as if the level had undergone a war. You can also find various forts and hills and you can even find weaponry scattered on the floor.

Once you enter this level, you will be equipped with full winter gear, a snowboard, and a tote bag somehow made out of snow. When you enter the level, you will automatically feel a sense of loneliness and guilt, which will possibly lead to insanity. Only one person can enter this level at a time. If two people attempt to enter the level, one will be transported to Level 523, and the other will be transported to a random level. The temperature of Level 523 stays at 0 degrees or lower, although there are rare occurrences where it could change to 1-10 degrees, and the level always stays at daytime, no matter what.

There are various amounts of places you can go to in Level 523, such as:

Forts[]

Forts are scattered everywhere across the level, so they can be easily found. Forts come in many different forms. Some forts are essentially walls, created out of snow shaped into bricks, while other forts resemble oddly shaped igloos. The forts' only usage was for hiding in the "battle" that happened on the level. Sometimes you may find weapons in forts, but it's very unlikely. Most forts have been damaged beyond repair. Some forts can cause psychological effects such as seeing hallucinations.

Armory[]

The armory can be found on the west of Level 523. The armory is essentially a small supply room with lots of shelves filled with supplies. The supplies are distinctly separated into three total categories: weaponry, food, and first-aid kits. All the supplies are either made out of snow or have a relation with snow. The floor and walls are made of snow and most things have been damaged. If you decide to steal the supplies inside the armory, you will start to have suicidal thoughts, and there's a high chance you may purposely die.

The Great Statue[]

The Great Statue is the most special place in Level 523. It can be found in the middle of the level, surrounded by swerving leaves and a light blue aura. The Great Statue, as the name suggests, is a gigantic snow statue that's shaped into a snow angel of some sort. There is a significantly noticeable golden plaque at the bottom of the statue. The message written on the golden plaque was 'Our Lord, our God, our Savior.' It is unknown what is the meaning of the message, but theories state that it may be a dead king who once ruled the level. Unlike most theories, there is a lot of evidence to support this, such as the notes that are in the level. If you ever try to go past the swerving leaves, the leaves will follow you and cover your eyes.

Cemetery[]

The Cemetery can be found on the east of Level 523. It is a snow-themed cemetery with ice gates surrounding it. The cemetery, for obvious reasons, is a place that is filled with tombstones of the remains of seemingly remembered people. There are many different versions of gravestones, some way fancier and made out of rich material, some not so much. You may find flowers surrounding a random gravestone, and interacting with these flowers will cause you to be pinned down into the gravestone by a mysterious force. There are also names engraved on the gravestones, and these people have been proven to exist in the Backrooms.

The Battlefields[]

The Battlefields covers most of Level 523. The Battlefields are essentially big vast pieces of desolate wasteland, and supposedly where soldiers fought in the "war" that happened within the level. The Battlefields, although it appears to have nothing in it, there are a lot of interesting objects you can find underground if you dig through the snow. You may find carrots, broken buttons, and rarely skeletons underneath The Battlefields. You can also find hidden notes underneath, although they are written in an unknown language that's called "Winter Ruins". Some notes can raise lots of questions, due to the amount of lore in it.

Houses[]

Houses cover the south and north parts of Level 523. The houses are oddly different from normal houses, as it has lots of different shapes and colors. Some houses are gigantic igloos, some houses are shaped like a snowman et cetera. The houses are oddly but nicely decorated and organized. Many different kinds of supplies lie in houses, and you may even find some weaponry as well. Some houses have a set of stairs, and trying to go upstairs will cause you to tumble down a long flight of stairs, possibly injuring your back.

Entities[]

There are no entities in Level 523 as of today, but there used to be a large kingdom of entities that ruled the level and resided in it.

Snowpeople[]

Snowman

An example of what snowpeople looked like in the level.

The Snowpeople were once the rulers of Level 523. They utilized the materials around them to thrive and expand their territory to make a peaceful, harmless society. Suddenly, the kingdom got into a dispute with the sand people, causing a raging war that lasted for many weeks. The sand people won the war, and the snow people were slaughtered and abandoned. The snow people took the appearance of snowmen and women in The Frontrooms. They had hats, button eyes, and a carrot as a nose. According to the notes in the level, when the war started, lots of the citizens fled into a forest, allegedly. But a few days later, they had been caught and surrounded by the sand people and were forced to die. As of the details we know now, the snow people are extinct. (Do note that all of this information was found from hidden notes in Level 523.)

Colonies and Outposts[]

There are no colonies or outposts in Level 523 since only one person can enter the level at a time.

Entrances and Exits[]

Entrances[]

  • Make a snowman in a room without any snow.
