“Everywhere I go, it disappoints me. I see something enticing, whether it be a toy, gadget, or food, only for it to be destroyed or rotten away. It only goes downhill from here; the smell of a new car overpowering my nose reminds me from all those long trips that would make me carsick. I'm so tired of this place, I want to leave already. If you're reading this, hopefully you are in a better position than me, and I wish you the best of luck.”

Level 570, also known as 'Closing Hours,' is an unending expanse of shopping complexes, primarily resembling grocery stores and supermarkets, all posing a non-Euclidean layout. The architectural design of the level hints at that of an average grocery store in the Frontrooms originating from modern periods. Other areas, including department stores, hardware stores, and corridors resembling shopping malls, are sparsely scattered across the level's expanses.

Most of Level 570 is shrouded in perpetual darkness, with a few lights scattered to illuminate the dark spaces. Windows and other transparent openings provide twilight to some parts of the level and hint at a desolate, tenebrous outdoor area. Occasionally, the lights unpredictably flicker and fluctuate in luminosity, creating a potentially eerie atmosphere. When looking at a sunroof, one may find bright celestial objects resembling stars.

Level 570 has a distinct, reoccurring odor akin to that of a typical brand-new car. When first entering the level, the odor is striking and cancels out all other odors but fades away the longer the wanderer stays in the level. After the wanderer's first encounter with the striking fragrance, the smell wears down but is still distinct from most other odors. Some have reported that the odor remains even if one has left Level 570, even after extended periods, although this is currently unconfirmed.

All products found within Level 570 are unusable, as one cannot properly utilize them for their intended purpose, or—in rare cases—usage or consumption results in death. Foodstuffs are inedible without proper processing procedures. Tools are heavily damaged, and one cannot use them for their intended purpose. All products requiring electricity to function are unable to be activated. Articles of clothing are either already slightly worn, fully torn apart, or get torn easily.

The level's structural integrity is mainly pristine, as there are few signs of damage throughout the expanses. Floor tiles, ceilings, windows, light fixtures, ventilation systems, escalators, decorative objects, and other miscellaneous objects are in good condition with few exceptions. Additionally, the level is highly uncluttered, with most areas boasting a sterilized appearance and cleanliness.

Some have reported a faint, super-high-pitched background noise only discernible by a few wanderers. It has an estimated frequency of 19000 Hz to 25000 Hz. Accounts of this high-pitched sound are rare due to the circumstances required to detect it. Wanderers who report hearing this noise describe it as comforting, motivating, and relaxing—an unusual description of high-pitched sounds. This phenomenon is currently unconfirmed due to the low number of accounts telling of the sound, although most believe it to be true.

Level 570 has a weak WiFi signal that allows wanderers to connect with other wanderers within the level. The signal is not strong enough to support inter-level communication. The older a mobile phone device is, the less capable it is of receiving this WiFi signal. Older communication technologies, such as walkie-talkies, fail to function and are unusable. Some rooms have a stronger WiFI signal, unlike others, such as storage rooms.

“I stare into the gelid void, and I feel as if something is staring right back...”

Unknown, unidentifiable date

Rarely, one may stumble across a window or even a door, and on the other side of the window, one will notice an outdoor structure. This outside area is colloquially known by wanderers as 'The Outdoors.' The Outdoors is an open structure of unidentifiable purpose, shrouded in perpetual darkness, illuminated by a few lights. Similar to Level 6, any artificial light sources aside from the few pre-existing dim light sources are inoperable, such as flashlights, headlamps, and cell phones.

Entry to this forsaken abyssal zone is possible but tedious. One can only access it by opening doors that lead to this area or by rarely noclipping through one of the windows depicting the area. To leave the area, one must reenter the door in which they came through or any rare noclipping leading back to the primary shopping complex. One cannot enter this level and immediately end up in this specific area, nor is it possible to exit the area to another level other than The Void.

The Outdoors are notoriously known for their chilling temperatures, inflicting hypothermia and other cold-related detrimental health effects on wanderers. One must explore this area with proper gear and equipment, including winter gear and warm drinks, preferably Almond Water. Any heat sources fade away quickly, such as gas lanterns, campfires, and heaters.

Little information about The Outdoors is confirmed and verified by Major Explorer Group officials. Any other information is likely misinformation from opposing groups and rogue wanderers. Due to the nature of the area and the rest of Level 570, expeditions to gather more information about The Outdoors are highly rigorous and treacherous. Most explorations are inconclusive, and most result in failure, and the few that succeed provide little new information, such as new findings and samples.

▸ Entities ◂
[]

Smilers, Aranea Membri, Lamenting Sinners, and Lighters are the only documented entities residing in Level 570.

Retail Ransackers
[]

The Retail Ransackers are the only known permanent establishment residing in Level 570. They reside in an empty food court next to a grocery store. They have developed methods to process the unedible foodstuffs found in grocery stores by rummaging through official documents scattered around their grocery store. They have a current population of 59. They act ruthlessly towards outsiders, denying all trading requests, and some members will assault any outsiders if they are not Major Explorer Group officials. Little more is known about this secluded, violent group.
