Level 577 is the 578th level of the Backrooms. The entire level resembles a massive maximum security prison, with a seemingly unlimited number or cell blocks and rooms associated with them. The prisoners here claim to have been here for years and even decades and were wanderers themselves, though information about this level's existence has only been revealed recently. Some wanderers state that the complete lack of difference in each day made the prisoners loose track of time, so the claims on how long they spent in this prison may be inaccurate.
Every prisoner who has claimed to serve time here has had to escape on their own terms, and none of them have ever witnessed a prisoner being legitimately released, so it is assumed that they are all issued life sentences.
There are many guards wandering the prison that ensure order. There is typically one guard for every five prisoners. Every prisoner who has escaped claims that the "guards" are their own separate entity, and refuse to describe them.
Each cell block is connected, with a large steel door separating them. Prisoners are prohibited from entering other cell blocks, and will be subdued by the guards if they manage to get through the door.

Cell Blocks
This rooms consists of a cell block with a seemingly random number of cells. Each cell has a bed and a toilet. Each prisoner will be assigned to one and is expected to be in here during Lockup and Sleep time.
Canteen
Every day, all prisoners will be ordered to report to the nearest Canteen. For each cell block, a Canteen will exist next to it, with the amount of chairs and tables depending on the size of the cell block assigned to it. You must eat what the guards serve you, regardless if you are hungry or not or what the food is, otherwise they will force-feed you.
The food served every day is seemingly random, from horrible slop to gourmet food. One of the canteens apparently served Liquid Pain once, though the prisoners were miraculously healed the next day upon going to sleep in the Infirmary, regardless of what stage they were on.
Kitchen
This room is directly connected to the Canteen. Guards will enter and exit regularly with food and will serve it to the prisoners doing "Eat" time. Prisoners who have looked inside when guards enter and exit describe it as a silent pitch-black room. The guards enter it confidently despite the darkness.
If a prisoner manages to get inside of the Kitchen, they never return. If it's "Eat" time when this happens, Mystery meat will be served minutes later. It is unknown, but very likely, that this meat is the prisoner.
Infirmary
The Infirmary is a medical room consisting of several medical beds. For each cell block, an Infirmary will exist near it, with it's size depending on how many cells are assigned to it.
This room seems to always be empty whenever prisoners are allowed to enter it or go near it. However, if you fall asleep in this room, regardless if you're on a bed or not, you will be awoken by a guard the next day, with all of your injuries, regardless of severity, cured, unless you're already dead.
In the aforementioned Liquid Pain case, every prisoner piled into the Infirmary and woke up cured of the disease associated with it, even if they managed to pass stage 4.
Shower room
There is one of these for every cell block. They are typically located near the Canteen. There is a shower head for each cell in the respective cell block. Every day, prisoners are required to enter this room and stand under a running shower head until they are dismissed by a guard. If a prisoner refuses to do this, the guards will clean the prisoner themselves and return them to their cells.
Staff Room
For every few cell blocks, there is a Staff Room somewhere. The exact size of these rooms is unknown, as no prisoner has reported what exists inside of it. Guards will occasionally enter this room and leave a few hours later. The door to this room is a study, metal grey door. The guards enter this room confidently despite the darkness.
If someone attempts to enter this room and a guard sees them try to do this, the guard will subdue the prisoner immediately. However, some prisoners have managed to actually open the door, and those who witnessed this described it as a pitch-black and silent room. Any prisoners who actually entered the room never returned, and the Canteen often serves mystery meat the next day. Weather or not this was the missing prisoners is unknown.
Warden's office
It is unknown where this room is located, or if it even exists.
If a guard hears you complain about any aspect of the prison, it will invite you to discuss this with the Warden in their office. If this happens, politely decline and continue your day. Prisoners who accept are given a time, usually during sleep time, to be escorted by a guard to the Warden's office. They will never return, and the Canteen often serves mystery meat the next day. Weather or not this is the missing prisoner is unknown.
Regime
For each cell block, the prisoners living there have to follow a regime. There have been several conflicting reports on what the regime actually is, so it is assumed every cell block has a randomly generated regime
The regime has five different times, with each cycle being 24 hours.

|---|---|---|---|
| Sleep | Prisoners are locked in their cells and must lay on their beds, either actually sleeping or just pretending to sleep. Guards will circle the cell block. If they spot a prisoner not on their bed, their will enter the cell and beat the prisoner unconscious. When this time period ends, the guards will awake each prisoner. The only exception to this is if a prisoner is already asleep in the Infirmary. | ||
| Lockup | Prisoners are locked in their cells, but must be awake. Guards will still circle the cell block. If a prisoner appears to be asleep in their bed, the guards will enter the cell and wake up the prisoner. If this cannot be achieved, the prisoner will be transported to the Infirmary, where they will lay in a medical bed for the rest of the day and through "Sleep" time. The next day, the prisoner will be healed of any injuries that may have lead to their unconsciousness, and will be awoken. | ||
| Freetime | Prisoners are allowed outside of their cells and can explore the prison. They are allowed to enter any room assigned to their cell block and do whatever they want there. Guards will wander around the prison. |
| Eat | Prisoners are required to enter the Canteen and sit down in a chair. The guards will them confine them to said chair. If they refuse to do this, a guard will escort them here and place them in a chair. Prisoners will be forced to eat whatever the guards serve them. | ||
| Shower | Prisoners are forced to enter the Shower room and stand under a running shower head until the shower time is over. If a prisoner refuses to do this, a guard will escort them here and clean them. | ||
However, there is some consistency in the regimes for each cell block. They all include:
- 6+ hours of consecutive sleep time
- At least one 1-hour Canteen time.
- At least one 1-hour Shower time.

Colonies and Outposts
The entire level can be considered a colony, as it is a prison.
Numerous gangs exist throughout the level, though not much is known about them.
Entrances and Exits
Not much is known about this level, as it has only been recently discovered.
The prisoners here claim to have committed a "crime" and have been captured by "Police" in other levels and knocked out. They then awoke in their cell.
For the few prisoners that managed to escape, they claim that they nonclipped though a wall and ended up on a random level. Several prisoners that have escaped this way are still unaccounted for, likely finding themselves in the Void.
