Description

The only photo of Level 57. Photographer is deceased

Level 57 is known as the “doorway home.” the room consists of a tv on the floor, a wooden rocking chair, a brown carpet, a table with a hexagonal top with a lamp, and a window. The entire level consists of just that room. The walls have a blue floral wallpaper with a brown wooden lining. There are no doors and only one locked window with glass that cannot break.

The window

The window shows an urban neighborhood at night, and the window itself has an orange tint. The window shows what looks like humans, but are actually Facelings, carrying out daily tasks. This is made to make the explorer think that outside that window is the real world, which will compel them to keep looking. If you look too long at the window, the facelings may see you, and will run towards the window, faze through and kill you. You need to look out the window, but not too much, because if you look at the tv, its game over. The idea of the window is that it will make the explorer think that if they can get through the window, or get someone's attention, they can escape the backrooms. However this is not true, and doing this will only lead to a more gruesome death.

The TV.

The TV on the floor is not plugged into any outlets, however it still works. It will always be on and will display subliminal messages through the tv. It is unknown what the messages are, and what they look like or mean due to the high mortality rate. No one has ever exited level 57 without dying, and if they’ve escaped they are too traumatized to tell what happened. Only a single image exists, and the photographer came out of level 57 only saying the words “the tv is evil.” He eventually took his own life, in front of a TV. The tv itself is said to draw you in mentally. It drags your attention in, and once you look at it, you cant stop. It is unknown how you die if looking at the tv, most assume it is suicide, but no bodies are ever found in the Level, so it is still debated upon.

Entities

The only entities that exist in this level are the Facelings outside the window. They will harm you if they see you.

Colonies and Outposts

No colonies or outposts exist on this level due to the small size, and the high mortality rate. The only group that is somewhat related to level 57 is a group of crazed individuals who live in the more inhabited levels of the backrooms such as level 1.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

For safety reasons, the entrances will never be listed, as the level is too dangerous.

Exits

If you have unfortunately ended up here, the best thing to do is to not look at the tv. The slightest glance at the bright screen will attract you and never let you go. Instead resist the urge and look out the window. Convince yourself that you are looking at the real world, and after long enough you will appear in Level -1

Rumours

A rumour began circulating that if the window is somehow broken, you may leave the backrooms. It has not been confirmed, nor disconfirmed, however a former explorer shared a photo on social media of them back in the front rooms after an expedition to level 57. He is the confirmed human who has escaped via level 57, however there may be an exit that we cannot understand nor see.
