Level 60 is the 61st level of the Backrooms.
Description
Level 60, more commonly known by the ill-fitting name: 'Innocent Ball Pit', is an expansive ball pit entirely shrouded in a shadowy darkness. In all explorations thus far, no solid ground has been discovered below the mass of colorful plastic spheroids; it seems that the pit itself is unending in every direction — vertically and horizontally.
Curiously, the pattern in which the plastic balls are colored seems to differ from one specific region to another; they appear follow a clearly visible grid-like pattern, each being more commonly referred to as a “chunk”. Such coloration differences appear to be present throughout the level and currently remain without a discernible cause.
As aforementioned, the depth of the ball pit itself is undetermined, with attempts at diving and usage of echolocation not contributing to the investigation thus far. Wanderers had hypothesized a flat plane lying under the ball pit could theoretically exist; however, due to the abundant usage of echolocation, the confirmation of the existence of this surface remains a cold case due to the absence of any conclusions yielded by these examinations.
While the cause of the abundance of spheroids in Level 60 is known, the source is unconfirmed. Occasionally, a shower of colorful spheroids instantaneously appears from the void above in irregular intervals, it is theorized a larger source of multicolored spheroids could exist somewhere above the location wanderers are sent to; or each wanderer(s) are led into their different areas of the level, similar to stories in a building. Disturbingly, the amount of disappearances in Level 60 dictates the frequency of the previously mentioned rain comprised of colored spheroids — the assumed culprit is an unknown entity that pulls unsuspecting wanderers deep into the ball pit.
The darkness engulfing the majority of the level is overwhelming for some, however, most conceived it as comforting. The circumstances of this anomaly are the presumable location of Level 60 in the Void, due to a portion of subjects finding the emptiness and the reminiscence of forever pleasuring, even possibly attempting to fall into it themselves. Strangely, multiple cases of persons observing a mysterious, barely noticeable colorful surface inside the Void had been reported, with most of these reports taking place in Level 666.
Entities
The absence of entities and creatures in Level 60 has been a mystery of its own since its discovery, however, multiple votes from different influential groups had concluded an entity with its existence still awaiting investigations and confirmation dubbed “The Grabber”
The Grabber
The Grabber is a hypothetical entity/creature that inhabits the subterranean regions or the darkness above in Level 60, presumed to be held accountable for some, if not most of the disappearances of persons and any life forms which may have inhabited the level. The endeavor in which the entity captures is digressed to be simple, yet effective; it is largely believed it possesses a gigantic “hand” to capture wanderers or even entities under unknown circumstances.
The exact description of the supposed creature’s body is undetermined, theories range from a memetic octopus-like physique to a deep sea creature adapted to the environment of Level 60 similar to The Thing on Level 7, or a humanoid with extendable long disfigured arms. The confirmation of the entity’s physique remains annulled due to the assumed 0% survivability of an attack by the entity in question, with the entirety of its supposed victims presumed dead by others.
Furthermore, the aforementioned similarity between the frequency of disappearances and the occasional shower of multicolored spheroids is vividly noticeable; the entity itself may possess a “hand” massive enough to collect enough of these spheroids to create an illusion of a “rain” consisting of them.
Colonies & Outposts
Any endeavors on establishing permanent communities in Level 60 had ended in several tragedies and incidents. Any wanderers who are present in Level 60 are advised to find an exit immediately after entry, unless one requests to have an unfortunate demise.
Entrances & Exits
Entrances
- Any original/past and further discovery of entrances to the Void in Level 59 will instead lead one to Level 60;
- Jumping into unorthodoxly dark holes in Level 39 will result in an approximate 20-meter freefall into the ball pit. Any injuries due to the usage of this entrance are easily avoidable by decreasing the surface area of one’s body which will impact the surface;
- Sinkholes outlooking a multicolored surface in Level 94 will lead one to Level 60 without receiving any injuries from the fall;
- Houses in Level 974 filled to the brim with similar multicolored spheroids lead one to the upper subterranean area of Level 60, usually teleporting the wanderer 2-3 meters below the surface without them realizing otherwise.
Exits
- Certain anomalies cause one to end up in Level 61;
- Frameless doors possessing a brass number “6” will lead one to Level 3.14 or Level 332;
- Noclipping through certain surfaces will lead one to Level 0.
