Vending

Level 610, colloquially known as "The Snackrooms", is an eerie and disorienting level, featuring a never-ending maze entirely comprised of snacks with a layout similar to its parent level. Littered across the level in droves are snack-like foodstuffs, yet most are unedible. Some snack items are stuck to surfaces, with their bonds inseparable. Snacks are contained within packages, of which they are anomalously unopenable, a phenomenon currently being studied by M.E.G. scientists. Level 610 was discovered on February 12, 2024, when a group of wanderers went through an opening in Level 6. Since then, other entrances to Level 610 were discovered.

Despite the level's exceptional brightness, there is a distinct lack of light sources in Level 610 Occasionally, the level may flicker, descending some regions into darkness for a few seconds, before returning to its original state. There are various supplies scattered across the level's expanses consisting of opened packages, water bottles, and rarely, weapons. Sets of furniture, including chairs, tables, dressers, and sofas are commonplace in Level 610, although some furnishings are toppled over or missing parts.

Level 610 is home to several anomalies, with some undiscovered. Reports state walls fluctuating in and out of existence. Others report noticing unusual figures in the corner of their eyes. There have been many other reports of other strange anomalies, yet they lack backing concrete evidence. Due to this, all reports are potentially fallible.

Sometimes, wanderers may encounter a crawlspace while traversing Level 610. Crawling through the crawlspace will lead one to a cafeteria. These cafeterias are empty, small, and lack food, although there are a few vending machines within these cafeterias that are filled with consumable provisions. The walls and ceiling in these cafeterias are dilapidated, and the floorboards emanate creaking noises when stepped on. It is common in these cafeterias to find hospital waiting benches, trash cans, exit signs, unusually dark areas, and images depicting food.

Wanderers may also encounter a hallway completely enshrouded in darkness. Once wanderers enter this section, their surroundings will fade away as they are engulfed in pitch black, similar to The Void. Numerous observations state that the darkness is slowly expanding, consuming more regions of Level 610 as time passes. Rumors believe Level 6 is responsible for these regions, and that the darkness from Level 6 is continuously spreading into this level. This hypothesis is currently unconfirmed.

Viral Infection: "Snack Rush"

Snack Rush is a dangerous virus that lies within the snacks of Level 610.

Infecting Process

Wanderers can only contract Snack Rush by consuming excessive amounts of snacks in Level 610. This is rumored to be due to the high amounts of sodium nitrate (NaNO3) within the level's foodstuffs which causes the thriving of microbial pathogens. Small amounts of these pathogens will only provoke the victim to have mild amounts of itches and scratches all over their body. But if large amounts of pathogens are consumed, these symptoms will soon morph into Snack Rush.

The infection process is as follows:

  1. The victim consumes mild amounts of bacteria,
  2. Bacteria enter through the mouth and into the trachea and esophagus,
  3. Bacteria go into the stomach and intestine while also infecting the victim's blood cells,
  4. Mild amounts of itches, scratches, bruises, and rashes all begin appearing on the person's body,
  5. Person continues consuming more snacks,
  6. More bacteria enter and infect the victim,
  7. The person is infected with Snack Rush.

Stages & Symptoms

Pre-Infection Period

The pre-infection period, known by some as Stage 0.5, begins when the bacteria initially enters the body. Almost immediately after infection, rashes begin materializing throughout the body without any predictable pattern. Victims will usually consume more snacks than usual when this stage initiates. The victim will feel weird sensations throughout their body. In the pre-infection period, the victim experiences no detrimental harm, unlike in the upcoming stages.

Stage 1

The first stage of the Snack Rush involves the victim undergoing eczema-like rashes throughout their entire body, with minimal yet evident bleeding. Usually, these rashes manifest within hours of the first stage. Despite the bleeding, many wanderers feel minimal pain during this stage; theories suggest that the Snack Rush deactivates pain receptors on the victim's skin, though internal pain is still present. This stage of the Snack Rush takes effect 11-15 days after the initial infection and takes seven days to move on to the next.

Stage 2

The second stage of the Snack Rush involves the victim's rashes slightly healing and all pain receptors throughout their body shut down. The victim will become delirious as hallucinations begin manifesting in this stage. Their ravenous appetite will extend beyond regular foodstuffs and start eating the closest random object, aided by the sudden sharpening of their teeth. Their eyes and mouth will begin bleeding, yet they will feel no pain. Their body tissues and organs start breaking down, including their bones, causing body parts to become easy to pluck off if enough force is used. This stage lasts 8 to 12 hours, after which stage 3 will commence.

Stage 3

The third and final stage of the Snack Rush involves the victim's flesh tenderness tantamounting to a brownie or cake. They will lose all motor capabilities, collapsing to the floor. They will start to eat their flesh, including vital organs. They will bleed an excessive amount of blood, causing them to die of blood loss. Their sight shuts off when this stage begins, causing them to continue hallucinating. Theories suggest that even after the victim dies, their brain's final energy utilizes hallucination and illusion. Due to the imminent death that this stage brings, it lasts a mere fifteen minutes.

Entities

There is only one type of entity within the level. This entity is level-specific and is called Oversized Roaches.

Oversized Roach

Taxonomy

The Oversized Roach (Blattodea wannosik) is an exclusive entity to Level 610. Titularly, it takes the appearance of a comically sized cockroach spanning 61 cm (2ft), 23 cm (9 in) wide, and a wingspan of 120 cm (5ft) on average. These cockroaches make loud, cricket-like noises detectable from half a kilometer (0.31 miles.) They are incapable of flight despite sporting wings due to their sheer mass. Oversized Roaches are blind and heavily rely on sound and smell instead. Their abdomen is shielded by a thick, near indestructible armor, although other body parts show extreme vulnerability. Like regular Frontrooms creatures, Oversized Roaches repopulate via reproduction and perish elderly.

Oversized Roaches are most common in Darkness regions, where they mainly reside and mate. They only depart the locale for light exposure, as when lingering within a Darkness area for too long, they enter the Void. They also scour Level 610 for food, munching on thin drywall and carpet, and, if found, snacks. They are immune to the Snack Rush virus, as it infects humans only. Oversized Roaches bemire their surroundings with an unknown, crumbly, unsanitary brown substance, presumably their fecal matter or residue from munching. Aside from minute details, their male and female counterparts are indistinguishable. Oversized Roaches live for two to three months, leaving their hardy shell after their death and decomposition.

Oversized Roaches are not aggressive toward humans or other entities, although wanderers are commonly repulsed from their sight, provoking an instinctual swift fallback. They also emanate an unpleasant odor like dead fish or a dirty mop. One can smell this odor from an estimated 8 meters (26 feet). In most situations, the entities won't emit the odor and only do so on certain unknown occasions. Oversized Roaches are Level 610's most dominant entity, outnumbering other documented cases. Over days, Oversized Roaches will shed their wings and regrow them within three hours.

Colonies and Outposts

The Ransnackers were a former group of wanderers who once resided within Level 610. They comprised around 19 members at their peak and specialized in nothing of importance. Due to the level's lack of known exits, their members formed the group to attempt to settle and gather resources. The group had language barriers as not everyone spoke proper English. Fortunately, their base location harbored several areas where snacks would manifest, including vending machines.

Unfortunately, disaster struck when several members of the Ransnackers consumed an overdose of snacks due to the founder's birthday party. This event led to 14 out of 18 members contracting the Snack Rush. The untouched Ransackers watched in horror as their peers slowly turned into demented insanities. They feared the virus was contagious and would spread to them, so they relentlessly searched for exits, eventually leading to Level 511's discovery.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

  • Finding and going through an opening in Level 6 leads wanderers here;
  • It is possible to enter the level through Level 11, but the exact entry method is currently unknown;
  • Rumors claim that displaying negative emotions within the Manila Room will lead one to this level.

Exits

  • Going back through the opening connecting Level 6 and this level will lead you to Level 6;
  • Finding and going through a bright opening will lead you to Level 511.
