Level 638 is the 639th level of the Backrooms.
Contents
Description
Level 638 is a field of grass that is seemingly infinite in terms of length. The recorded length of this level is unknown, and the furthest traveled has been around a thousand square miles. There is fog everywhere in the sky, and travelers have said that the fog is extremely dangerous, but no proof has been found yet. Every tenth of a mile will have large watch towers, that appear to have been from the medieval ages. These structures have very important resources, and are the best areas to survive in this level. Rarely, you can also find fields of corn, which expand for half a mile, but are also extremely dangerous and should be avoided. The corn has been classified as very dangerous, and there have been reports of being dying from them. There are also a few fields of potatoes, but their safety is unknown currently.
The field on Level 638.
There are two other parts of this level that are recommended since they contain the exits for this level. Travelers have also reported seeing a third area, but it is still being worked on to find this new part.
The Basement
The basements of this level can be accessed through noclipping through the floors in the watch towers. There are lots of shelves and crates in this part of the level, and there are no known entities that roam here. The basements are mostly dark, but there are flash lights scattered throughout that people can use. There are also flashlights that are orange, and should be avoided as they are bait for travelers. Touching the orange flashlights will result in suffocation and death. There are also a few doors in this part of the level, but they usually lead to more shelves or rooms of old weapons. If lucky enough, a door may lead to Level 639 or Level 640.
The Fog Labyrinth
The Fog Labyrinth can be accessed by finding a very high watch tower in this level. You must climb to the top and then you should be transported somewhere, which is the fog labyrinth. Travelers lack seeing on this part of the level, and is the most dangerous part of Level 638. Not only is it easy to fall down to your death, but there are plenty of obstacles you must avoid. There have been a few reports of seeing Clumps, which has been recently proven to be true. Finding a stairway may lead to Level 635.
The Fog Labyrinth also has a few water sources that are unknown about. Travelers report finding almond water and fresh water in the clouds, but this may be a hallucination, because the Fog Labyrinth can make travelers see things that do not actually exist. This part of the level also makes you lose your sanity faster than a lot of backrooms levels, so you should try finding your way out as soon as possible.
Entities
Because of the lack of exploration on this level, there is a lack of known entities on Level 638. The only known entity here is Clumps, which roam near areas at the Fog Labyrinth.
Colonies and Outposts
There are three known colonies on this level.
The High Classes
The High Classes are a group of 30 people, and claim that they are the highest classes on this level. They are extremely hostile towards people who stumble upon their colony, and it is best to try ignoring them as much as you can. These people have also been said to have killed 14 travelers, which may be true due to their hostility.
The Anti-Wretch Republic
The Anti-Wretch Republic is a group of around 20 people, and help cure people who have lost their sanity and turned into Wretches. These people are friendly towards travelers and are open for letting people join.
Basement Guiding Outpost
The Basement Guiding Outpost is an outpost on Level 638, and they have a population of only 9 people. They live in the basement part of this level, and seem to have lost lots of their people due to becoming Wretches. These people are friendly towards travelers, and are there to help them out of the basement and into levels 639 and 640.
