Description

Level 650 is an illusion level that appears to resemble, if not completely appear to be a carbon copy of, the level and place within that level where an individual has had their worst, or most traumatically scarring experience in the backrooms.

Level 650 has no uniform appearance, as it is personalized to whoever is inside it. it is worth noting that it cannot depict events, places, or feelings within or instilling an illusion of being the frontrooms, however people, or objects of importance from the frontrooms may appear at random, in rare occasions. these people will slowly devolve into entities before your eyes, so be wary of anyone who seems to pop into existence unexpectedly. the objects of importance will also break apart over time, slowly turning into hundreds of writhing maggots. it is confirmed that other people can be found in here, however this happens exclusively in difficult circumstances, so it's rather unlikely that you will meet another person. if the person does not meet the criteria, they will still be present, however they will be in their own illusion, separate from yours. you cannot hear them, they cannot hear you, you cannot see them or their illusion, and they cannot do so to you. you can only encounter another person if they were nearby you when you had the event that this level depicts, and if they share in it being their worst backrooms experience. even then, they cannot hear you, and sign language is incomprehensible in this level. however, you still can

Unless you really know what you're getting in to, avoiding this level is recommended, as being unable to escape will cause lots of unnecessary pain and most likely your eventual death. it does come with a reward, however, as escaping with your sanity intact not only makes the event that was depicted lose any power or influence over your emotions. not only that, but it will also reset your sanity to its highest state in your lifetime, in or out of the backrooms. finally, it will reduce the strength of sanity-decreasing effects by a whopping 50% for the next month after you exit, and after that, it will reduce them by 25% for the rest of your life in the backrooms. note that coming here multiple times is discouraged, as the permeant effect cannot stack with itself, although the sanity reset will happen any number of additional times you win the level. the same applies to the 50% less sanity damage reward as well as the deletion of trauma from the depicted event.

Entities

  • There are no regular entities here, only an entity exclusive to this level called Illusionfolk. the amount that appear to you depends on the number of entities inside your traumatic memory. much like their habitat, they have no uniform appearance, and will take the form of any entities that are present in the traumatic moment that has been realized, using similar weapons, tactics, and abilities. they can cause pain through their attacks, and show visible wounds, however these wounds do not actually have any chance of causing death, as while their sensations and appearance seem very real, they are fake, created by the Illusionfolk to cause pain, terror and to further instill fear. these wounds can have direct effects on your sanity, so avoiding them is a must if you wish to leave the level with your sanity intact.

Colonies and Outposts

Due to the nature of this level, colonies and outposts would be useless, and nearly impossible to set up, so none exist at the moment.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

You can come here in a variety of ways, some are blessings, others are curses.

  • If you begin a transformation into an insanity, there is a 15% chance that you will be reverted to normal and sent here.
  • If you begin to have a PTSD attack about an event that occurred within the backrooms, you have a cumulative 3% chance of being sent here. this chance increases by 1% every 5 minutes the attack continues. it takes 3 days for the chance to return back to 3%.
  • Exiting most entity-infested levels has a 9% chance of sending you here.
  • Breaking down and crying or having a PTSD attack on level 649 will send you here 100% of the time.
  • Exactly 3 years after an event that becomes the event that this level would replicate occurs, you have between a 1-65% chance of being teleported here, depending on the severity of it and how much worse it is than the previous one. only one time can be set at a time, so if you experience something worse than the last one, for example 7 months after, the original chance and time will be replaced by that of the new one. it is worth nothing that exiting this level with your sanity intact after arriving in this way will return you to the place you came from rather than level 651.
  • Anyone who has become a Trauma Insanity and was cured can noclip into their own scars to return to level 650 for another chance.
  • Noclipping into any object that reminds you of or depicts the level that your traumatic event occurred in has a 50% chance of sending you here.

Exits

  • The only way to exit level 650 with your sanity is to mentally and emotionally enjoy being there, which will cause a door with an exit sign on it to appear, somewhere nearby. walking through this door will cause you to black out and wake up on level 651, and any negative feelings towards the event you have re-experienced will be mostly if not entirely dissipated. this is the only known way of exiting the level, as noclipping into any object sends you back to the beginning of your memory 50% of the time, with a large loss of sanity. attempting to noclip at all in this level is highly discouraged, because in the other 50% of cases of attempting a noclip, you will be sent to The Void.
  • If you give in to the level's torture and lose your sanity, or if you remain there for 1 month, you will become an insanity, a specific type of which with a slightly more purple coloration, known as a Trauma Insanity, you will be sent to a random level, wherein you will have 7 days to hunt and kill 7 humans, if you fail to do so you will transition into a regular insanity and remain an insanity until your death. if you succeed in killing 7 humans, you will enter a state where you will curl up into the fetal position and and weep. you will still look like an insanity, and you will not be able to communicate with humans, however in this state, which typically lasts another 7 days, if a human comes up to you and takes you in, showing you true kindness and creating a bond with a creature that could kill them at any minute, you will very quickly regain your sanity, and slowly begin to revert back to a human. this process will usually take around a month. after 7 days you will be able to very roughly communicate, and any threat of violence is mostly dissipated. after 14 days you will show physical signs of reversion, slowly returning to regular coloration for a human and regular . after 21 days, you will still look like something between an insanity and a human, but you will be able to communicate the same as you could pre-transformation. after 28 days, you will look the same as you did pre-transformation, however you will have long scars along your face, chest, legs, arms, and back. you will have little recollection of your time as an insanity, however you will remember every kill, and when you met the person who cured you, and every kind act and experience you had with them. these scars will leave you in agony almost every minute of every day, but there is a way to fix them. by noclipping into your own scars, you will be returned to level 650, and you will have a second chance at overcoming your trauma. if you fail this time, however, you will become a regular insanity, and you will be uncurable.
