Level 658 is the 659th level of the Backrooms. I can't seem to find a seat around here...

Survival Difficulty 4

Unsafe

Insecure

High Entity Count

Description

Level 658 is a seemingly infinitely recurring nursery home, with off-white walls and a floor with an indiscernible color that has a seemingly continued theme of stretching. This stretching occurs to all dimensions and measurements contained in the level, and can even reach a point of bending or winding for some of the longer objects. This includes the people within the level, and all the while conscious and still human like in behavior, they are considered entities due to their extremely abnormal proportions, called "Beanpoles". The level has a constant and rhythmic hum that seems to resemble nursery rhymes from the early 1800s, including "How Many Miles to Babylon?", "Humpty Dumpty", and "Aiken Drum". These hums have reported to cause the Beanpoles to dance in a way, despite them seemingly not wanting to. They also may attempt to sing the lyrics, to horrifying results. Some of the stretched out furniture has been reported to be strangely insect like and organic, with some even being said to move as such from time to time. These rumored entities are called "Geigers". One may also find random bones of various animals and humans with wildly different ages, depending on the room. The room's dimensions also change and stretch, with some rooms being seeming infinite in length, and such have been dubbed as a sub level, due to their sheer size and slightly different environment than the main level, known as "Level 658 ½". None of the aforementioned bones have been reported to be in Level 658 ½. Transmissions of data have been found to be extremely difficult to carry out from this Level, and therefore there is only one documented "photo" taken.

Level 658 ½

Level 658 ½ is a group of rooms in Level 658 that have been categorized as functionally infinite, and therefore act under different rules than the main level. This part of the level contains no entities, but as one travels within the room, hallucinations may take place of things like Geigers and Deathmoths. This will cause one to become an Insanity, but they will be instantly teleported out of the room, just for the to start the process all over again. The room itself still has the white painted walls the oddly colored floor, but it will twist in impossible ways, sort of like a drill bit, tightening and loosening, and throwing around Wanderers as they walk.

Entities

This level contains only 2 main entities, with the third being debated as a feature of the levels size warping abilities or a separate entity itself, Beanpoles, and Insanities. Geigers are only rumored by those who have escaped from Level 658 ½, so it is simply dismissed as a visual hallucination, although, since furniture that looks like them does exist, it can be argued that they are only able to move in Level 658 ½.

Colonies and Outposts

2 colonies exist within Level 658.

Republic of Level 153

  • Do trade, but very limitedly, as resource gathering seems tedious for them.
  • Contain about 94 members, all who are extremely knowledgeable about the Insanities.
  • Have one central colony, that sometimes explore for Wanderers and resource drops and, somehow, have a layout of the level that they do not share.
  • Could possibly be faking it, as The Main Republic does not have them catalogued.

Beanpole Nurturing Center

  • Helps those affected by the process of beanpoling.
  • Contain about 17 members.
  • Have 3 separate clinics/nurseries for Beanpoles.
  • They listen for Mother, they love her.

Entrances

Curiosity resurrects the corpse.

  • Can be reached by entering a nursery in Level 11.
  • Is one of the possible locations to land when thrown out in the void in Level 947.
  • Can be reached by singing any of the 3 previously mentioned nursery rhymes in any backrooms Level.

Exits

Why would you leave those poor souls?

  • The only way to leave is by finding a door in one of the rooms you find, and it must be normal enough to open, which takes you on a one way trip to Level Fun.
