Description
The first photo of Level 666, and one of the first known photographs of the Backrooms. The photograph was found in a damaged wooden box camera found on the floor by a Wanderer. The photo was speculated to be taken in the 1890's.
Level 666, known as “The Gateway of Hell”, consists of a single infinite Japanese hallway as torii gates repeat on each other forever to form the hallway. Level 666's physical appearance is indistinguishable from the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine located in the Frontrooms. The torii gates that form the hallway in Level 666 is made of an unknown rock that was measured to have a Mohs scale of 10.
The Outdoors
The outdoors of Level 666 are infamously impossible to enter. Outside the hallway of Level 666 is an infinite forest that covers a massive mountain that is visible anywhere in the hallway. Temples and shrines are occasionally spotted inside the mass of the trees. Everything except the sky is pitch black, devoid of any texture and color. Level 666 follows a 24 hour day and night cycle, and the “time zone” of Level 666 follows the time zone of Tokyo located in the Frontrooms which is GMT+9. Compasses does not work in this level as it is speculated the forest of Level 666 is magnetic which interferes with compasses.
Hazards
Level 666 has multiple of hazards to ensure a 0% chance of survival. There are 3 hazards of Level 666 which are entity, environmental, and mental hazards. These hazards come at random for everybody,
Entity Hazard
Entities in this level are exponentially faster in this level. Adding to the challenge, the cracks form platforms, holes, and gaps on the floor, forcing Wanderers to parkour on them. If one stumble an impossible jump, it is better to be killed by the entity than jumping to the empty void as it will lead you to the Void. It is impossible to die in the Void, and death cannot help you.
Environmental Hazard
Level 666 has a similar quirk to Japan, as both places frequently experience earthquakes. Level 666’s earthquakes were measured to be a scale of 7 to 12. The earthquakes happen every 36 to 138 minutes, as the countdown starts when a Wanderer enters the level. Cracks and huge gaps formed by these powerful earthquakes reveal an empty black void that leads to the Void. These earthquakes makes running from entities much more difficult.
Mental Hazard
Level 666 takes advantage of one’s phobias and mental illnesses (mainly PTSD) by making one experiencing visual and auditory hallucinations of traumatic experiences, dead loved ones, greatest fears, and regrets. Almond Water is proven to be useless in Level 666 as the effects of it would not matter compared to the sudden sanity loss. Given enough time, Wanderers will turn into a Wretch due to the significant drop of one’s sanity.
Entities
The most common entity of Level 666 are Clumps. These clumps trip Wanderers and prevent them from escaping entities that are chasing them. Every common entity are present in this level other than Smilers, Frowners, and Facelings.
Entrances & Exits
Entrances
The most common and the only confirmed entrance to Level 666 is through an animated painting depicting Hell in the Dark sublevel of Level 1003. Expeditions using drones mostly enter through this entrance and where the source of information about Level 666 is all from.
It is theorized that nocliping through a corner in Level 988 has a high chance to lead you here.
Exits
Partygoers that are present in Level 666 sometimes bring you to Level Fun. This is a dangerous exit, as nobody had ever come out alive using this exit.
A relatively “safe” exit is to fall to the Void by jumping to the empty black void cracks and gaps reveal. This will bring one to Level 11, but it is extremely rare to happen as there is only 1 confirmed case of one person escaping this way.
You have arrived at Hell. Please make yourself at home, and enjoy your stay.
Description
If one walks the hallway of Level 666 for long enough, without dying or falling to the Void, they will stumble upon a concrete hallway that has colorful arches that make up a rainbow, decorated with colorful buzzing fluorescent lights. A neon sign, saying “Hello gorgeous” is on the wall in end of the hallway.
Upon pushing the neon sign, one will open a secret entrance and with a wooden door that opens up to the same Japanese gateway formed by repeating torii gates, but something horrible had happened. When one enters the gateway, a welcome mat reading “Welcome to Hell! We hope you have a happy stay here.” in Japanese. The sky is blood red, and flickers every 10 seconds, and the trees had lost its leaves. Some parts of the gateway will
If one ventures deep enough, into to the gateway, the sky, the gates, the jungle, and everything will turn to solid black and white. At this point, there are no chances of escaping. The only way to escape is to helplessly pray as you tried to run in all directions to hopefully escape.
The Forest
Underneath the rocky surface on the gateway of Level 666 is a forest that lies in the middle of the Void. The trees in the dark forest are birch trees with thin trunks, and the ground is filled with leaves and stalks that had fallen off the trees. The forest is devoid of any color and physics, as you can go through walls, and swim through the air in the forest. It is assumed the forest is outside of the fabric of reality, and acts as a barrier that seperates Heaven and Hell. There are some reports of shadowy figures walking in this forest. It is thought the forest is where powerful entities (mainly Class 7 entities) in the Backrooms meet each other.
