》Unsecure
》Anomalous Environment, Entity Permeation

Description

Level 760 is an expansive labyrinth of stone and grey bricks somewhat reminiscent of the Odessa Catacombs or the Kőbánya cellar system from the Frontrooms. However, every aspect of the level is cubic in nature, with all turns and angles in the level being at 90°. This extends to even the bricks and stone that make up the level, with the bricks being large cubes of heavy rock. Some of these bricks are loose and can even be taken out of the walls. Rectangular torches that never go out can be found in various areas in the level as well as paper-thin iron bars that intersect each other. While doors of rotting wood that lead to other rooms in the level can be found, unopenable doors made of cast iron can also be found.

Entities

Level 760's sole native inhabitants are creatures known as bricklings.

Bricklings

Entity Hazard: Class 5
》Entity Number: 760
》Habitat: Level 760

When someone manages to take a brick out of one of the level's many walls, there is a chance that the stone they pulled out is not a brick at all, but instead an entity. When disguised as a brick, bricklings look unremarkable. However, if given enough time on someone's person, the brickling will unfurl from its disguise and attack. When undisguised, bricklings are rectangular, maggot-like creatures as long as a man's arm with two large nostrils where the head should be. Between this nostrils is a mosquito-like proboscis. When on the attack, a brickling will typically inject its proboscis into the flesh of a wanderer and inject a paralyzing venom into the wanderer's bloodstream before fleeing. Said venom is fast-acting and can even kill those injected with it via cardiac arrest.

If a wanderer managed to subdue and kill an attacking brickling, the creature will let out a high-pitched whistling noise as it succumbs to its wounds. Shortly following this, disguised bricklings in the immediate vicinity will begin to shake and slide out of their places, immediately unfurling when they escape their hiding places before charging to avenge their fallen brethren. Therefore, it is strongly advised not to take out any loose bricks in this level or even kill a brickling. If you see an undisguised brickling wandering the level, give it a wide berth and it will ignore you.

Simplification

If a wanderer stays on the level for too long, they will begin to undergo a process known only as simplification. Entering this level starts the process, but the process is paused but not reversed upon leaving the level. The process will also start again if one re-enters the level. The process is described as extremely painful by those who managed to escape the level before the process could run its course. The first immediate effects of simplification is an instantaneous change in human cellular arrangement that shifts all cells into regular, angular patterns similar to a grid. By the end of the early stages, the first visible changes manifest via a change in one's fingerprints, turning its whirls into blocky, right-angled mazes.

The middle and late stages of simplification are characterized by a gradual degradation in form. The first changes to arrive in the middle stages are fingers and toes fusing together. The following changes include the joints of the hands, feet, knees and elbows locking up and straightening, and by the end of the middle stages, the fusing and locking of the spinal column into a single straight line. The first changes to arrive in the late stages are the locking of the jaw in one place as well as the wrists and ankles locking in one place. The body then becomes more and more angular in nature, with eyes being pushed out of their sockets, clothes ripping and teeth being ejected from the mouth. The process of simplification always takes around three hours to fully complete, and sufferers always die during the middle of the late stages. By the end of it, the wanderer's corpse is a simplistic, blocky, human-like figure that is always first found standing up and can easily be tipped over.

Colonies and Outposts

Due to both bricklings and the effects of simplification, there are no colonies or outposts on this level.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

Aside from noclipping here, there is one known direct way to access this level.

  • Sitting on a grey chair in Level 375 will teleport you to this level.

Exits

While there is no real reliable way out aside from noclipping, managing to open one of the iron doors and walking through it will take you to a different level.
