Level 789 is the 790th level of the Backrooms.
Contents
Description
Level 789, also known as "The Warzone" is a dangerous Frontrooms-like world where there are two main forces: The Insurgents, and the Coalition.
The War is an on-going catastrophic event where the level is torn apart with battles and resource harvesting. It is unknown what the level looked like before the war, but it can be assumed that it was a thriving civilization, based on the advanced buildings and technologies seen. There are no seen Backrooms entities in his level, although The Sentinel has said that there are plenty lurking around, hiding from the war. Several entrances and exits are in the level, but they are all in the battlefield or in some of either side's bases. It is futile to interrupt the war as the properties of the soldiers make them indestructible, even to the effects of some levels and entities. If you are with one of the armies, don't question about the opponent, as there is a chance they will instantly shoot you.
Appearance
The Warzone
The Warzone takes up the majority of the level and is extremely dangerous. The landscape varies from crippled cities, war-torn lands and seascapes, and even evidence of bioweapons. The level appears to be like the Frontrooms, if it was in a war. There are battlefields everywhere, from stranded sectors to bases of both sides. No insignias have yet been identified, and The Sentinel refuses to provide any. Notable structures include:
Allied Structures
- The Frontline Garrison, which is a massive citadel constantly under attack.
- Zephel Airfield.
- Several outposts.
- HQ Megalak. The main base of the Coalition.
Insurgent Structures
- The Jirachi F.O.B, the Insurgents' main forward operating base acting as their HQ.
- Pelosien Shipyard, a naval base that is responsible for the majority of their Air and Naval production.
- Several outposts.
- Several factories.
The Sentinel's Realm
This is a sublevel of Level 789. It is an area of 200mi² and is divided into four sectors: Forest, Winter, Desert, and Magma. The differences in the sectors stop around 150 kilometers from the center. At this point, there is a large, indestructible wall, encircling the center. This is the Fortress, presumably The Sentinel's base. It is unknown what is beyond the walls, and nobody has gotten past it yet. The next wave of information has yet to arrive.
The War
History will be added soon.
Entities
There is an abundance of entities that resemble some animals from the Frontrooms.
There are also many Backrooms entities as well, such as Hounds, Facelings, Skin-Stealers, Death Moths, and rarely, Partygoers.
The Sentinel
Appearance
The Sentinel is a humanoid entity that has sleek, matte-black armor covering the majority of its structure, with several areas being red, like its visor. Its armor appears to be immune to all forms of damage or reality-warping effects. The Sentinel is about 2 meters tall and has a bulky build. On its back appears to be a strange propulsion device, which may allow it to either boost its jumps or to simply fly. The Sentinel only has two visible weapons: Its blade and its visor. Its blade appears to retract from its left arm, being around 40 inches long. The visor is less visible as a weapon and its only known ability is to blast a large beam of light wherever it's facing, destroying anything caught up in it. This information was gathered after one of the explorers witnessed The Sentinel use its weapons in an engagement with a pack of Hounds.
Behavior
The Sentinel always appears guarded, probably from the constant threats in its realm. Although it will allow friendly entities and wanderers into its realm, it will not provide specific locations for resource gathering, nor will it offer any resources in general. Otherwise, not much else is known about it. Further tests (or interviews, based on its nature) will be conducted.
Biology
The only thing known about The Sentinel's biology so far is at least similar to a human. There has been no evidence of bleeding or otherwise so far. It speaks in a metallic voice, but in a formal tone.
Insurgents
The Insurgents (Not to be confused with the group of a similar name) are widely to be considered the enemies of the war. They have gray and white armor, with streaks of blue along particular areas. They look similar to The Sentinel except they carry guns and have no visor-rays or retractable blades. The Sentinel has described them as humanoid entities that might actually be humans. It has said that they originated from the Frontrooms and are invasive entities.
Coalition
The Coalition are slightly less advanced soldiers than the Insurgents, but have a significant advantage on their home base. They are more or less the allies of the war. They are identical to humans and have technologically advanced weapons that may have descended from the Frontrooms.
Colonies & Outposts
Landing Party's Outpost
This is the only outpost in the whole level. It was created by the first group of explorers who discovered the level.
- Consists of only 5 members.
- Affiliated with M.E.G.
- Moderate amount of resources.
- Friendly enough to other wanderers.
- Will let people join their group if they want to participate with the research.
- Expecting M.E.G reinforcements.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
The only known way in is currently The Hub. This is the method that the Landing Party used to enter the level.
Exits
The only confirmed exit is to simply go back the way you came. The Sentinel has claimed that there are no-clippable objects that take you to any discovered level in Cluster I. It has also said that it can send you off into certain levels if it desires, though this has yet to be proven.
[LOG ENTRIES STILL TRANSMITTING. TBA]
Extra Information
A significant amount of Insurgent equipment and reinforcements comes from a strange portal that leads to Level 987 in an alternate reality known as the Farooms. It is unknown what the nature of the said level is, but it can be assumed that it is very dangerous as the Insurgents have been pouring out of there like ants.
