Description

Level 8001 is a cold, thick jungle with almost no signs of life. It is divided into 5 sections that can be accessed by going deeper into the level or waiting a certain amount of time. Once one of those requirements are fulfilled, your surroundings will transform into the next section. Some people have reported that sometimes they repeat and experience the different sections out of order, but this is the most common progression of the sections of this level.

1st section

Section 1

Section 1 is the safest section of the level, but there are still several challenges that would pose a threat to your survival. There are intense winds in this section that cause the trees to tilt and shake. It is very dark, damp and claustrophobic. You could get seriously injured if your not careful by possibly getting impaled by a sharp branch or getting bitten by a venomous creature hidden in the bushes. Rumors have it that if you wander deep enough into the thick of the dense jungle, you will stumble upon a portal to Level 60. It resembles a glowing blue vortex. It is also possible to noclip to various levels within Cluster IX.

Section 2 (Distance traveled: 24km, Time waited: 4 hours)

Section 2 no longer has the overbearing wind from the first section but now almost zero light and dead silence. You cannot even hear yourself talk or the sound of your own footsteps. This section is completely devoid of life and the biggest enemy is your own sanity.

Section 3 (Distance traveled: 20km, Time waited: 3.5 hours)

3rd section

Just like Section 2, Section 3 is very dark, not quite as much as section 2, but still barely enough to see your own hands. After a while, your eyes get used to the darkness and traversing this level becomes much easier. In some bushes and hidden in tree trunks, there are Almond Water bottles, but lots of them are either empty or half filled. Due to the relatively long amount of time you have to spend in this level, starvation becomes a big issue. Some have resorted to eating random berries off branches. This highly dangerous. The effects of eating the wild berries can be loss of sanity, and hallucinating people from your previous life or monstrous entities from the deepest stratums of your subconscious. One person reported that one of his buddies died instantly upon consumption. Your best bet to avoid starvation is to hunt the small creatures that roam this level. It is possible to create fire in this section, so if you can cook the meat of the creature, you provide a well sustaining meal. There are no known ways you can noclip to other levels of the Backrooms in this section.

4th section

Section 4 (Distance traveled: 150km, Time waited: 25 hours)

This section is not as dense as the previous 3, but it is far more dangerous than all of them. There are less trees and colossal crab-like creatures roam the land. They don't seem hostile, but you can easily get stomped to death if don't get out of the way quickly. There is a light fog that can be slightly agitating, but isn't nearly as bad as Section 5's. There is no consistent food supply, so you just have to hope that your food supply from the previous section can last you through the level. If you don't have enough food though, than your chances of survival drastically drops. People have speculated that you can kill the giant crabs by throwing a well aimed shot from a spear, which you could build out of the wood. But it is not likely the spear would be strong enough to pierce its armor. Not many make it past this section because the starve to death, but if you're lucky you can just survive long enough to make it to the final and most dangerous section.

Section 5 (Distance traveled: 100km, Time waited: 16 hours)

5th section

Section 5 is a dense forest with thick fog everywhere. This fog will slowly make you lose your sanity, and if you're in a group, then you will all be separated. You will most likely die from the fog making you lose your sanity and starving to death, or just starving to death out right. There are some places you can avoid the fog, but food is scarce. The best you can hope for is the occasional nut or random small animal. You probably wouldn't to be traversing this level with a group. If you happen to keep the Almond Water you got from Section 3, you can safely pass through the fog, and slightly prolong your starvation. There are no known dangerous entities in this level, so the biggest threat is the almost non existent food supply. The absolute only consistent food is mushrooms, though those have hallucinogenic effects. Thankfully, you'll only stay in this level for about 10 hours at the most.

After your wait is over, you'll be transported to Level 8046.
