Description:

Level 800 of The Backrooms, often referred to as "The Hunters Lodge", "Hunters Cabin" and "Poachers House", takes the interior appearance of a massive log cabin, stretching anywhere from 1 million- 4.3 million square miles in each cardinal direction. The walls and floor are made from wooden planks, logs and stone with shag rugs found in almost every segmented room. Windows are rare but can be found if one wanders for long enough and far enough into Level 800. When looked through, they show that it is constantly dark outside, and that a incalculably large forest surrounds the cabin. These windows cannot be broken.

On occasion, these rooms can be found to have Animal head trophies adorn the walls, as well as similar hunting paraphernalia, Including but not limited to:

  • Stuffed Animals
  • Hunting rifles
  • Muskets
  • Boxes of ammunition
  • Bear rugs (Species discovered being Black, Brown, Polar and Sloth)
  • Jars of glass eyes
  • Jars of Animal teeth (Species discovered being Bears, Racoons, Bison, Goats, Moose and Deer)

Though firearms and sufficient amounts of ammunition are available, Guns will usually fail to fire and jam due to an unknown effect. Furniture can be found frequently only in specific rooms, such as ones with Windows or Stuffed animals.

Entities

The currently documented entities to reside on Level 800 are Hounds, Smilers, Deathmoths and an exclusive being known simply as "The Poacher".

The Poacher is described as an abnormally tall humanoid figure, wearing typical hunting Attire and wielding both an axe and a Blunderbuss, which is commonly heard firing at random intervals when it is near. Though not confirmed, reports have described The Poacher as having the Face of a manned fox.
If you find fresh blood splatters, piles of bones or carcases, turn and run in the opposite direction, The Poacher is known to spend 3-4 days in close proximity to its last kill. It is still debated if The Poacher eats his victims, or leaves them as bait for other entities found in Level 800.

Colonies and Outposts

There are 2 known colonies on Level 800.

The Antler Tribe

A colony consisting of 25-40 members, they have well fortified areas and a decent amount of supplies. They are very cautious of new people approaching their zone and usually turn away rude, or sick individuals. If you manage to gain their trust, they are liable to trade goods and packs of Almond Water

The Horn Tribe

Another colony consisting of 10-20 members. These people are nearly always hostile on sight. It is recommended to NOT approach these people in normal circumstances. However, they will defend fleeing victims of The Poacher. Their areas are well fortified but have far less supplies than the previous colony. One explorer states how the tribe used to have upwards of 54 members, but most were killed off by The Poacher, various entities, and the other tribe.

Entrances and Exits

Entrances

There are few entrances to Level 800. It is possible to be sent here when no-clipping through walls of any level, this chance increases the longer one spends in The Backrooms as a whole. Some say that getting wounded in The Backrooms due to firearms will send you here if you fall unconscious, though this has yet to be proven.

Exits

On occasion, walking through random doors may end up sending you to level 8, level 83 or level 984. It is also possible to climb up the various fireplaces to arrive in level 5. There is an old rumour that if you follow The Poacher for long enough, you will find his lair. This is filled with doorways to what is thought to be over 100 levels, This is unproven and is a rumour commonly circulated back and forth by the 2 tribes.

Additional Information

Violins can be heard echoing through the various rooms of Level 800, The source of which is yet to be located. Both tribes advise to ignore the sound and not search for the source. A cocky explorer refused out-loud to The Antler Tribe and was killed on the spot.

Sanity is easily lost if one stares at the Animal head trophies for too long, both tribes advise not to pay too much attention to them, as they are said to bring about Bad Omens. One explorer was seen carrying the Animal head trophy of a ram, and was killed on sight by The Horn Tribe, it is unknown why the explorer was taking the trophy with him.
