Description
Ruins on the center island, as seen from a neighboring island.
Level 857 is a group of islands over 100 miles wide. The islands are relatively large, and have numerous abandoned structures. A flat, steep rock wall can be seen near the entrance to Level 879
Entities
Level 857 seems to be infested with a water-adapted variation of the kynigoí from Level 879, known as water hunters. Puffballs may reside here, but it is very rare, and any puffball in this level would rather like to leave. Additionally, the Cosmic Puffball has never been spotted here.
Notable locations
Unnamed history museum
A museum documenting what seems to be the history of this level. It is not clear if this is what it represents, as all of the labels on the exhibits are incredibly blurry, and all models of anything in the exhibits are missing or completely wrecked.

Selene Corporation fueling station Puffball Raider outpost
A former Selene Corporation fueling station. It has been taken over by the Puffball Raiders, and converted into an outpost.
- Danger level: 7 (Hostile and/or sentient entities, hazardous materials)
Materials
Tristezite
See Level 879 for more info
Tristezite is an extremely dangerous material to handle. Upon contact with skin, it can make a person cry, or even make their heart burst.
Rosacrystal
Rosacrystal is a slightly boring, yet slightly interesting material. Unlike Tristezite, it is not harmful, but has many odd side effects, mostly effecting a person's personality, but only under the presence of the material.
Colonies, Outposts, and Groups
The Painters
The Painters established a single base in this level, but it was destroyed by the water hunters. The water hunters have since made a hive under the base.
The Resistance
The Resistance sent in several experienced members of the group, however, they have not returned. The audio logs scattered around the level may explain what happened to them.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Go over the northwest edge in Level 879.
Exits
- Go back the way you came.
- Go directly south and cross the edge to enter Level 2015.3.
- Find a picture of a aquarium then noclip through it to enter Level 858
