Level 85 is the 86th level of the Backrooms.
Contents
Description
Level 85 is an expansive labyrinth wholly made of an unknown polycarbonate that resembles poly(methyl methacrylate), or plexiglass, at a molecular level, but contains numerous unknown isotopes and heavy elements. The walls are partially transparent and tinted white, and one can see through the material for two feet before not being able to see what's on the other side of a wall. At irregular intervals, large rooms are scattered around the level that greatly resemble greenhouses or indoor botanical gardens, but all of the 'plants' are made of the same plexiglass that composes the rest of the level. These specific rooms also house a lot of the level's native entities.
Entities
Level 85's inhabitants consists of several entities encountered from all across other levels of the Backrooms, but the level itself also has a fair share of native entities.
Polymer Moths
Despite their name, polymer moths do not resemble moths or deathmoths, but instead resemble butterflies of the Riodinidae family, or metalmarks. Polymer moths almost never leave the 'acrylic oases' they call home, and those that you do find outside of them are lost. They do not have the need to feed or reproduce, as where you see one, you will always find more. Despite looking like real butterflies, these creatures are wholly composed of the same unknown polycarbonate that composes the rest of the level. However, the unknown heavy elements that are in the bodies of these creatures are highly radioactive and can cause severe radiation poisoning in wanderers by just being in contact with one.
Potatoheads
These hand-sized arachnids native to the 'acrylic oases' of Level 85 are called as such due to the fact that their abdomens slightly resemble a featureless Mr. Potato Head toy at first glance. Overall, potatoheads greatly resemble orb-weaver spiders. Like the polymer moths, these creatures are wholly composed of the same unknown polycarbonate that composes the rest of the level. Unlike the polymer moths, the unknown heavy elements in their bodies are not radioactive. Like actual spiders, potatoheads spin webs. However, these webs are composed of an acrylic fiber that resembles wool to the touch and are far stronger than real spiderwebs. These creatures prefer to flee if attacked, but will fight back if cornered.
Potatohead Venom
While potatoheads may be skittish things that prefer to flee than fight, these creatures are just as dangerous as any other creature in the Backrooms if pushed. The most deadly aspect of these creatures comes from their venom, which has an invariably deadly effect on any wanderer foolish enough to attack one and be bitten by it. Even in the smallest of amounts, potatohead venom reacts with human collagen and hemoglobin to cause microplastics to form in the blood. Over time, these microplastics will grow into egg-shaped plastic granules that just grow larger over time until the host dies. These beads can build up under the skin and rupture it in oozing sores, cause arterial blockages, and pinch nerves among other things. Analysis of these beads has found that they are wholly composed of polyvinylidene fluoride plastic, or PVDF for short. The bitten wanderer typically dies from potatohead venom after several weeks, usually either by heart attack, cardiac arrest, exsanguination or even seizures if the beads end up in the brain.

Entrances and Exits
Entrances
Aside from noclipping here, there are five direct ways to access this level.
- Doors with the word 'regnad' on them in Level 75 lead to this level.
- Pale doors inexplicably placed on trees in Level 700 lead to this level.
- Finding a white balloon in Level Fun and popping it will teleport you to this level.
- If you enter a pure white, slightly translucent building in Level 84, you will be taken to this level.
- Swallowing a brass button in Level 162 will teleport you to this level.
Exits
While there is no real reliable way out, chasing a stray polymer moth with wholly green wings for a long enough period of time will teleport you to either Level 375 or Level 171. However, you will end up in the former more often than the latter. Also, finding a door on the floor and jumping into it will take you Level 105.
