A realistic digital representation of Level 8.
Level 8 is the 9th level of the Backrooms.
Description
Level 8, also known as "The Sewer System," is an sewer system flooded with almond water, dirty water, and rarely liquid pain. The walls are made of bricks, showing corrosion or salt on them. The bricks are normally observed to have been made in Victorian times, much like the sewer looks. The smell of the sewers is greater than the big stink. Sometimes it is toxic, so it is better to wear a hazmat suit that suits the level.
The pipes on this level are known to burst into super liquid pain. Bursts can be common because the pipes are normally low quality and made with copper. The copper degrades more than normal copper. The copper will give a red tint when the copper pipe bursts. It will show a maroon tint if the copper pipe is more likely to burst.
The walls on this level are made of brick. The bricks appear to be from the Victorian era, and they can be shown to have salt or cracks on them. The walls can break in a blue moon, normally showing other rooms or hallways. The salt can be watersalt, an object commonly found on this level. The watersalt can freeze people or call entities
Fatbergs can block areas or destroy areas. The fatbergs on this level may cause a giant stink full of dump wipes or diapers and blood or organs. This stink can be very toxic and smelling it can cause disease and bacteria to spread around your body, killing you in approximately 5 days or more. Hazard mat suits can be found in boxes that are mostly wet. The hazmat suits are high quality and wearing one is recommended because hazmat suits can be common or rare in areas around this leve l.
Entities
It is common to see many spiders here, most are venomous and very large, the races vary a lot and there is not an exact common race among them, but there are reports of an entity very similar to a knight, but it is not known if the reports are real. or not.
Outposts and Colonies
Smelly Starts
- A colony normally building a giant fort using metal from other levels can be found here.
- Around 10 people live here, and they like to trade, collect almond water, and trade hazmat suits for food.
- Friendly and no threat.
- They have a library that keeps all their current knowledge.
- Its base was found in 2011 (Log: 03/19/1868) inside buried rocky rocks.

Exits
The exit from Level 8 is not known, this level has not been fully explored and perhaps whoever enters here will never leave.

Level 8 is the 9th level of the Backrooms.
A photograph of Level 8 taken during the first exploration.
Description
Level 8 is an expansive cave system with numerous spider-like entities inhabiting it. Like Level 7, it is pitch black without proper light sources. There's many nests that spiders made, most inhabited by small venomous spiders and massive king and queen spiders. The king spiders of these colonies are fortunately not venomous but the queen spiders are highly venomous, most die within minutes of a queen spider bite, though this is just speculation, as human exploration of this level is currently impossible.
Large clear pools can be found in dead ends of the cave, these pools are highly dangerous as anything that enters them gets torn apart and dragged down by humanoid tar black hands. Another type of nest found on Level 8 houses Frankenspiders, a dangerous mutated spider that regenerates through a gland found in its chest cavity. Certain areas of the cave have what is presumed to be almond water dripping from the stalactites on the ceiling.
Some areas in Level 8 are inhabited by small brown spiders, which are unique to the Backrooms. These spiders are found in nests, guarding large egg sacs which contain over a hundred newborn spiders. Male spiders are not particularly poisonous and only around a foot in length. However, females can grow to be up to a meter long, have a potent poison which has the added property of wiping out the memory of humans, and are aggressive when hunting (Which is the only time that they leave the nest) and when they are near young. One bite is enough to paralyze a human, at which point they will eat their prey alive over the period of a day or two. Other than the spiders, other Backrooms entities inhabit the cave systems, however they steer clear of the spiders, who seem to be the apex predators of the level.
Colonies and Outposts
Due to the narrow level structure and amount of arachnid entities, it is extremely difficult to build a colony here, so only one known resistant outpost exists.
Backroom Colonists
- a sturdy and moderately large outpost.
- The main group controls it and sends reinforcements to protect it.
- accommodates a good place to rest and to exchange resources.
- Many want to protect themselves, so the group exceeds 450 members.
- Has no connection to the outside world.
- An event known as "The Great War" caused over 230 members to die.
- "The Great War" was an entity invasion of the base while the guards were feeding, with no one to protect the base.
Entities
Level 8 is inhabited by a lot of different species of spiders. Explorers can find all the way from small brown and venomous spiders to king spiders. While some of them rely on their nest and on their venom to survive, other species don't have venom, and generally are just members of their nest. Although, it is advised to avoid every form of life present on the level.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Look for a hole in Level 6 or at the bottom of the water in Level 7. The most common way to enter this level is by finding "cave" entrances through Level 7 at Ocean Vantablack.
Exits
- It is considered almost impossible to escape Level 8, but historical attempts have already proven that this will bring you back to reality, all your memories will be erased and you will never return to the Backrooms, it is also rumored that becoming extremely faithful and believer to God, will treat you to heaven
