Level 9223372036854775807.0001 is one of the most anomalous and unstable levels of The Backrooms. Reality beyond Level 9223372036854775807 seems to be increasingly unstable.

Description: What is this level?

Level 9223372036854775807.0001 is one of the very few levels past 9223372036854775807 that we currently know of. Few instances have been found, but we'll make what we will from them.

Level 9223372036854775807.0001 is best described as an unstable and variable broken mess that exists in a collapsed state 97% of the time. We only know this because we have sent in drones and bots to survey this environment, as sending researchers to this level has been deemed unsafe. (Please, review the audio transcription log below.) This variable spatial anomaly in its stable and expanded state consists of a wasteland harboring the following:

  • Randomly generating and degenerating buildings.
  • Assembling and disassembling scaffolds.
  • Disembodied platforms. 20% of these platforms cannot be accessed because of their position in the sky. 10% of these platforms should not be interacted with because there is a risk of no-clipping through them.
  • Disembodied levitating and non-levitating doors. Some of these doors cannot be accessed because they are rotating in mid-air at 318 mph (512 km/h).

The light/dark cycle here is variable. The temperature of this environment is ambient. Entities have been reported here, but their population density and type will vary.

This image of Level 9223372036854775807.000 was taken via drone sent in by M.E.G. Level Assessor and Appraiser George R. Brown.

There have been reports from explorers that there is a perception anomaly causing some structures in this environment to appear either bigger or smaller than they are. There is also a depth perception anomaly causing some structures to appear closer or further anyway than they are. This depth perception anomaly has made traversing this level a tedious and disorientating experience. Several structures in this environment have been known to relocate to different areas of this level. Some structures in this environment have been duplicated. Some structures have been deleted and replaced with new structures.

Escaping this level is a challenge as the exits are variable as well. Exits could appear as soon as you do, and exits can disappear or move away from you as you attempt to access them. You could be surrounded by exits. There are times the exits are gone, and it might be ages before they reappear again. You are almost guaranteed to escape this level if you jump off one of the many disembodied platforms in this level. However, jumping off any platform will take you to any Class 4 or higher Level. Most jumpers end up falling into The Void. We created a comprehensive table documenting the number of wanderers being sent to a level post jump and their reported status. See below:

Explorer Relocation Post Level 9223372036854775807.0001 Platform Jump
Location Number of Reported Explorers Explorer Status
The Void 6 cases All 6 wanderers are presumed to be floating in The Void forever.
The Full 11 cases All 11 wanderers are presumed dead.
Level 3421 3 cases All 3 wanderers stated that they fell from the sky of the level.
Level ! 1 case Wanderer stated that they crashed through the ceiling.
Level 9223372036854775807 1 case Wanderer stated that they appeared back in the level exactly where they were before they entered Level 9223372036854775807.0001.

Event: Shifts

'Shifts' are one of the main reasons why this level has the potential to be dangerous. Every half-hour (approximately), the level will practically disappear, sending all current wanderers and entities into The Void or elsewhere. During these 'Shifts', any attempts to enter the level will either kill you, send you to The Void or you will get stuck in or between 'reality' you noclipped until the level 'refreshes'. Getting stuck in reality can also be fatal if the environment of Level 9223372036854775807.0001 rearranged itself dramatically. After the 'Shift' is over, the level is completely randomized, causing all exits, entities, obstacles, and buildings to appear in different places, or some things might not appear at all.

There has been some speculation how this level got this way, but no one knows why. It COULD be linked to 379's disappearance, but these levels are not in close proximity, so this theory is not plausible. There is some evidence to this claim as some wanderers who managed to get here found bricks and walls that look like they were from Level 379. But, as of now, no one knows why this level is just a mess.

Audio Transcription Log: Field Operative James K. O'Hara

Date: ██/██/████
Time: 11:29
Field Operative James K. O'Hara: Alright... I am not in Level 9223372036854775807 anymore. I breached the ceiling... I think... and I am in an unfamiliar place?
Some non-inaudible gibberish followed.
Field Operative O'Hara: Tana, do you copy?
M.E.G. Junior Level Assessor and Appraiser, Tana V. Minx: There is a lot of interference, but I can hear you. Describe your location...
A nervous chuckle could be heard on James' end.
Field Operative O'Hara: This place looks pretty bleak. There is a random mess of crumbling buildings and rusting scaffolds everywhere... Is that a door floating over there...?
Digital interference...
Field Operative O'Hara: ...going to try to noclip somewhere. I spotted a pack of hostiles not too far from my location. I think I saw something out of the corner of my eye.
Distance rumbling noises could be heard on James's end.
Field Operative O'Hara: It is like this place could fall apart at any moment. I am going to keep scouting this area, but I do not want to stay here too lo--OH SH*T!
The deafening crash of brick, mortar, and steel forced Tana to remove her headphones. James' screams of panic and shock could barely be made in out in the audio clip.
M.E.G. Junior Level Assessor and Appraiser Tana V. Minx put her headphones back on and checks on Field Operative O'Hara: James!?'
The crumbling and the noise of implosion died down and was replaced with silence.
Commentary:
Field Operative James K. O'Hara was presumed lost or dead. The use of drones confirmed that Field Operative O'Hara was possibly killed when Level 9223372036854775807.0001 collapsed. Why this level implodes is unknown. This confirmation resulted in future expeditions being completed via drones or bots.

Colonies and Outposts

Do not establish colonies or outpost here! This level cannot support colonies or outposts! Any colonies or outpost established here will be destroyed or lost to The Void when this level destabilizes and collapses.

Entrances and Exits:

Entrances

Note: It is strongly advised that you DO NOT do this intentionally as there is a 50% chance you to will fall into The Void and a 40% chance you will get trapped and crushed in The Full.

Exits

  • Finding a randomly generated door that you can safely get a hold of will take you to a random level.
  • Interacting with the wrong platform has a 10% risk of you no-clipping it and ending up in Level -933.
  • Jumping off of a platform. (Do not attempt, you will end up in The Void or in a Class 4+ Level.)
